I've never seen the cheetah patriach (but a few other "named" cheetahs) personally, but I don't think there's a big secret behind it.
Cheetahs roam the whole zone, just go and slaughter them all and sooner or later the patriach should spawn.
Maybe you can even just slaughter ANY Mob there, after all it weren't unusual if a Mob can respawn as any type. (good example is RM: if you kill cyclops there they can also respawn as Giants).

Get a druid friend to help ya get one...I was up there this week during my "Crazy Hardcore Leveling Marathon"...3 levels in 4 days! (no joke! 47,48,49..Clarity3 from a Guildy helped a LOT) ...and got some help getting last few blues of 47 by charming Scarlet Cheetahs...they seem to attack at Haste speed (or should, being cheetahs), and they got that much faster with my Pet Buff..anyway...here's my point...go Charm the Patriarch and pull him to the zone!! -=P Safe fight, and if you need, have the monk FD while the Druid zones if he needs to...but you shouldn't have to...just root, DoT, DS the monk, and go to town....Actually, this should work too...Snare, Root, use BOTH your DoTs (fire/magic), and CHARM the Cheetah, and tell it "/pet guard here"...and let it slowy die -=P...doesn't matter if it's a pet or not, it's a mob, and the DoT won't break or anything cuz it gets charmed...just sit and med, and root/dot/charm when it breaks...

Prior to Luclin at least, all the Claw-image weapons were either Primary or Secondary - never Both -- probably because they needed 2 different models to have it curving the right way. The various Luclin "claws" I've seen so far still seem to follow the same rule... Can someone who has these confirm that they really do equip in both hands and look correct?
I picked up one of these a couple days back, and as you could expect you can not equip an instrument in the secondary slot with these equipped in the primary.
These are clearly better than the Cane of the Tranquil for any monks that still are using them; for those concerned with weapon weight, you can't get much nicer than this solo.
These are not 'better' than a cane of the tranquil. These use the HTH skill, the cane uses 1hb. I personally will be looking to have one of each. Skill goes up, MoB dies, everyone is happy.
Never played a bard, so I'm not sure how helpful this would be, but they DO get dual-wield...if you were playing songs that didn't require you to use an instrument (or were dual-wielding anyway), using this and a 1HS could keep you doing the high damage with you 1HS while you train H2H with this....when you max H2H (which you can by 19)...this IS a 11/23 and that's nice....add Bard Haste song...think about it...

Posted:Dec 26 2001 at 2:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) In case you never checked, BST can't generally use claws, for example the icetooth claws, whereas bards can use just about every set of claws out there.
Ummm.....Incase YOU never checked these are Hand to hand and BST/MNK get ALOT of claw looking weaps...ie. Weighted Gloves, Knuckles of any sort, theyre Starting weapon quest....yup thats right they get right from begining.
Stupid question .... why would it be a nerf if its FIXING an error?? I guess by that logic that fixing crash bugs is nerfing PVP then too? :P Oh well thats My 2 cent flame of the day
Hee hee...and I have a maxxed Hand to Hand as a bard... I have 100 skill in it...I could actually use these ;-) (though I have better weapons anyways) But I agree, it's obviously supposed to be MNK BST only... it's no nerf to change it from BRD to BST.
These are better than the Cane of the Tranquil most monks would have at this level :) and hant to hand too lol... Plus being a clawed monk is pretty cool. Think Sabin from FFVI (FF3 in the US of A) now why can't I use Aurabolt or Bum Rush?
