Where dropped

I posted earlier asking where it dropped and got some important info saying it didn't drop on plataeu. I feel obligated to add some info of my own now that I had this fine earring. It is indeed on lower level.. way I did it was pull to the ramp and every 6th kill run around plataeu to make sure I didn't pop it. I also killed all unusual named tro jegs. Imagine my surprise when I killed a tro jeg agressor and it dropped this earring. Heretic and agressor both apparently drop it.

Heretic was a random wandering mob on the lower level for me - found after server reset
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 07 2002 at 6:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) will you newbies be quiet and let someone with decent information about drop rate, mob difficulty, etc. post? Will it be more noteworthy if i post my character's levels/classes? then will you shut up and take your silly arguements back to lake of ill omen? Here:
where dropped

Anyone mind posting something useful about this item instead of posting stupid comments about stuff that doesn't even matter. Anyways I have a question.. where exactly does the heretic pop. up on the plateau or down on ground level.. I have cleared plataeu dozens of times gotten many nameds but not heretic. I missing something? these stupid critters with their fire proc aren't worth hunting except for this earring. so far on plataeu I dropped, captor, firekeeper, heathen and like 2 or 3 more nameds. I hope heretic doesn't pop down at the bottom cause I noticed that thre are different kinds of tro jehgs down there

I was fighting on the path up to the plateau, pulling from the groundlevel close to the path, when the heretic popped. Its the same area as the rockhoppers like to hang out in.

10hp.. give or take a death
# Dec 24 2001 at 5:00 PM Rating: Decent
Just wanted to say that anyone that says 10hp isn't important hasn't FD with 3hp before.

Nothing like training the war at the ry'gorr fort into CC and getting stunned at the gate...
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 06 2002 at 8:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) true...but how often do situations like that really occur? its not an everyday thing (i'd hope atleast)
Better the SEoS?
# Dec 23 2001 at 12:41 PM Rating: Default
I would take 2 of these over my pair of Sarnak Earring of Stations, IMO. Sarnak Earring is 5ac 5str 0.0wt. I would drop the 4str to add 2ac and 20hp.

Whoever Thinks HP is nothing...

Has probably never played a cleric to a decent level. If you notice most cleric buffs add a fairly large amount of hit points to the target, this is because clerics get a nifty little spell called complete heal, now I'll admit that before complete heal a I'd sacrifice a few hps for some ac, but after complete heal the more hps the better. Now I'm not saying that AC is still of prime importance, but I'd definately choose orc fang earrings over cougar claw, and this over orc fang. And when you've got 10hp here, 15hp there, 35hp there, etc, etc... it all adds up and helps make your cleric happy =).

All in all, AC should be a warrior's top priority. Think of it this way - if you have healthy soldiers inside an army tank, their health isn't that important of the tank has little armor to it. A good rule is for every AC you sacrifice, try to replace it with at least 25+ hps. In raid situations, save are important .. that's why you should have a set of resist gear. Most of the time when you're just XP hunting, saves shouldn't be worried about. Sure, I drop my cougar claw earring to wear a BD earring when I'm in OS, but that's about it.

HP is important, but AC is still KING! Complete heal has about a 10sec cast time, try sitting and staring at a blank wall for 10secs and notice how long that is, then thing about mobs that hit for 300 with a delay of about 2, and quad attack plus bashes/kicks...that means you can take about 3k+damage in the time to cast 1 complete heal (and alot of uber mobs hit for more than 300...) fast heals are more effective (i.e. celestial heal, superior heal, remedy) and to make that work better, you must be taking less damage so AC is still KING! even when the clerics have complete heals, I doubt anything will ever change that. HP is also vital, but AC takes priority.

Thats why they keep the mob on the main tank and don't wait til his life is completely gone before they start casting complete heal...and what difference is a few AC going to make against a Mob that hits for 300? Lots of people Go for dragon faction on my server because of the greater amount of hp/saves over kael armor when kael has more ac, So i think AC just got bumped to prince or maybe Jester
RE: Whoever Thinks HP is nothing...
# Jan 27 2002 at 5:59 AM Rating: Decent
A few AC is going to make a lot of difference. The more AC you have the less damage you take which = hps saved. A few AC is much more important that a few hps. Think about it, would you rather have 5 more AC or 30 more hps? The Tizmaks in GD hit for more than 30 for crying out loud. AC is King unless you're killing dragons then it's resist gear. Oh and by the way, most people go for dragon faction because that's what faction their guild is on. Dragon faction is much easier in a lot of ways than Kael faction. You're obviously not a Warrior so STFU !!

You're ALL wrong...

AC = Saves = HPs

They're ALL important... the hard part is finding good equip to balance all 3... whether or not 1 AC is going to be better than 2 HPs is better than 1 SV Cold DOESN'T MATTER!!!

It's how YOU play the game... and your equipment should only reflect a portion of that. I've grouped with Warriors in DL with BRONZE armor, and they've done an excellent job (better than some of the twinks in Cobalt that can't taunt off the Chanter). Stop worrying about 1 or 2 hps that will be saved and have some fun with the game already.

hitpoints
# Dec 22 2001 at 3:26 AM Rating: Decent
everyone says 10 hp is nothing after low levels.

it's not. it's 10hp. 10hp here, 15hp there, a few stamina on that, and it can add up to enough to make a difference. Besides, you run faster at 50hp than at 40.

The perfect counter is, how much is 2dex going to change your proc rate? Very little. Get enough dex items, and you might see a visible increase, but each item doesn't do much by itself.

This is much better than CC just for the AC, though.

I promise, it does, I have a good 150sta unbuffed (Netted Kelp boots are real great :P), +any hp gear I have, I get an easy 500 or 600hp from Sta and hp gear alone.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 21 2001 at 3:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is just an orc fang earring, with less hp(by5) and more AC (by3).

A vindicator breastplate is just a bronze breastplate with more ac and stats!

Better to keep your mouth shut and everyone think you are a fool than to open it and let everyone know you are.

For melee AC is god.

So many nice earrings coming out of Luclin now. I'd love to have something like this, with high AC plus hp. Not sure how it stacks up to Black Sapphire Electrum, but beats the crud outta my Cougar Claw.
RE: Ack...
# Dec 21 2001 at 5:03 PM Rating: Default
i agree with you on the nice SOL earing part...but better than CC earing? in ac yes, but the dex on cc is important (esspecially for an sk...procs), but the hp is nothing...at like, level 1-5 the +10hp (+20 if u have 2) may be important, but anything above that, its less than getting hit once. but if u are really obssessed with ac go with this :)
RE: Ack...
# Dec 24 2001 at 12:11 AM Rating: Decent
and what tank in their right mind isnt obsessed with AC? sorry couldnt resist, you left it so open-ended

It's lore so you're not going to have two.
