Howto get a Dark Elf the Amulet
# May 14 2005 at 2:45 AM Rating: Default
Dark Elf Cleric Inni Deity: tried to run in there without preperations - got attacked soon.Than i used some Human Essence Potion (Illusion Human) and everyone started to look at me Warmly i runned in without Problems only to get attacked by some Halfling Caster before the Castle in the Strange Garden. So i invised as Human and got to Drenic - Turned in the Organs and he did not want them.i dropped Illusion and everything even Drenic attacked:) Well so i got to Marus Seru and started to kill Hands of Seru at the Sanctus Seru Zone and Hands as well as other Guards i think legionnaires at the Zone to Netherbian as well the Guards inside Netherbian (but only the Guards by Marus Seru Zone not the Haven Guards, they are on Different Faction)after like 25 Full Kills (around 300 Guards total) i got back to Katta got Illusion Human up invised up to avoid the stupid Halfling and runned in to Drenic, there i dropped invis and handed in Organs without Problems(he conned threateningly) and got the Amulet:) The Organs dropped in the Grey from Sissar Stalkers.Drenic is easy to find : go to Tenebrous Zoneline and from there straightout :outcomming of the Tower with the Zoneline to your right is an open Area with 1 Building, the next to your right is a Big Castle with a Strange Garden before it,its Surrounded with a Kind of Wall.Take the opening in the Wall to enter the Garden (you will face the Castle on entering).Enter the Castle and take inside the first to the right (don't go up the Steps)than go to the last Room on the right, there you find Drenic:)Good Luck:) I guess that will work for most evil Races

good way to get it...and nice tips...however...please remember to put punctuation in. It is very hard to read a massive paragraph like that as one sentence. And I know i'm not the only one who would have a little trouble reading it. plus a little proper grammer never hurt anyone either "runned" isn't a word hehe =^_^=

I just completed this quest on the Xegony server, thanks to a RL friend of mine helping me out. We completed is in less than 2 hours or so and the XP there was prity good for me too. As a 60 BST, I have the EB spell, but now I don't have to buy to many more stacks of fish scales, only to buff thoes that don't have EB item. Thanks goes to Bryar of the Cognatus guild for helping me get this item :)

I don't know if this has been covered already, but... I tried this quest at lvl 34 on my bst but it wouldn't take it, so I tried it again at lvl 35 and was accepted, so it looks like 35 is the min level required.
Any DE Successful With Turn In?
# May 16 2004 at 3:21 PM Rating: Decent
I have 3 organs. Has anyone who is a Dark Elf SK successfully turned in the organs and received the Amulet? A Dark Elf SK is KOS in Katta and to NPC (Dennic Garrison). Exactly how did you perform the turn in? Is it really necessary to do any killing to improve faction, or can you just inviz to the NPC, feign death, and do the turn in? Please, any helpful tips?

I have heard of Dark Elves getting an illusion potion of a non-kos race to do the turn in.
Organs obtained
# May 05 2004 at 4:43 AM Rating: Decent
Well, went to the Grey and hung out near zin, and after 3 hours, was able to get one organ. Another player came into the zone (was way early in the morning, and he and I were the only ones in zone). Ended up going with him to the temple area, waste the cheesy golems and then there were snakes, in static camps all around. In less than an hour, had the other two organs I needed, and picked up a bunch of those pearl scales (think that's what they were called), which turned out to be nice as they were worth 16p a piece.
Anyway, from there I have been wasting the legos/guards in MS, and the vampires in TM. I'd say about 100 over all, more on the MS side. Went to the entrance to KK and conned the guards....scowl, ready to attack. Have no clue how much faction work I'm gonna have to do. I should also say that I am a troll, hehe.

Type 7?
# Dec 06 2003 at 8:10 PM Rating: Decent
I noticed it says type 7 slot. What kind of augments are type 7?
RE: Type 7?
# Dec 09 2003 at 10:46 PM Rating: Good
Ok, all items that are not gained from LDoN zones or from Plane of Time have 1 type 7 slot. For the most part, the type 7 slot is used for "Fits all slots" type Augs, because you can fix existing armors with these types when you get them while doing Adventures.

Other then the "fits all types" augs, you can fit a select few items with type 7 slots. These include a few HP, Mana, or HP/Mana augs purchaced or found on Adventures. There are also a select few augs that have Flowing Thought 1, Regen 2, Vengeance 2 that fit into type 7 slots that are purchaced from Adventure Camps.

Oh well the main thing you need to know about "type 7 slots" is that most of the time they will be filled with simple "fits any slot" types. Have fun adventuring.
Only need 1 Organ
# Dec 01 2003 at 12:13 PM Rating: Default
A friend and me did this last night by quad kiting lizards in The Grey. I got 1 organ in about 20min and thats all that was needed to turn in. Im not sure why people are talking about getting 3 but I hailed the guy and talked to him then gave him one organ and then wallah I got the necklace.
RE: Only need 1 Organ
# Jan 05 2004 at 5:45 PM Rating: Default
You must have been very lucky. What I think happened is either 1 person tried giving 2, or 2 people tried giving him 1 sometime before you got there. This way when you gave in the 3rd you got the necklace.

I tested the 1 organ theory just now and he says "I require 3 organs from the snake people". So if anyone on Terris Thule has 2 organs go for it, he has one in him already :P

Iksar can do this easy!
# Jun 21 2003 at 8:03 PM Rating: Decent
OK, so I got my 3 organs, bought my illusion halfling potion and ran from the Twilight Sea gate and past the guards at the dock and Katta entrance that were trying to kill me. I Zoned in, halfied-up, conned DUBIOUS to all guards now. Went into the castle, and made a wrong turn into a unfriendly wizard's room. He still conned threatening. He rooted me and nuked me for about 1300 points total and I managed to break free and run out to the Tenebrous entrance and zone. My friend Brundeel was in the zone with me, he went back to nexus and bought me a forehead growth potion to try again. I used it and was again dubious to the guards. This time he invised me, and I was INDIFF. I walked back into the castle, waited in the hall next to Drenic's room and had him target Drenic. I was dubious without invis, but not KOS. I walked in and hailed him, he called me a "talking lump of refuse." Here's the trick, uninvised, just hand in all 3 organs, and before you trade have your invising cohort cast invis on you again, click trade, and the amulet is yours to keep, with no future commitment to buy.

Summary:
1. Buy illusion potion of good race.
2. Zone into Katta and use potion at zin.
3. Have friend invis you and head to Drenic room.
4. Drop invis and place organs in trade window.
5. Have friend re-invis you.
6. Hit Trade and you are done.

Just that easy. Good luck Iksar bretheren!

Level and Faction
# May 20 2003 at 10:22 AM Rating: Default
Just something about the level and faction: my 45 (at the time) monk and 39 cleric both completed this quest indiff to the guy in Katta, so you don't need to do some uber faction killing if you can sneak...

It rocks since the TM and pre-TM rooms are uber solo exp 39 to 47 or so, so you can "farm" the TM while getting a few levels. Not a bad way to get an EB item, IMHO. 8)
What level do you need to receive item ?
# May 15 2003 at 10:49 PM Rating: Decent
I would like to find what level you have to be to get the Amulet from the NPC in Katta...

Had the organs, but he wouldn't let him finish the quest... saying "I have no task for you at this time, come back at a later date"

When I do the same thing with my druid level 56, he is able to complete the quest.

My friend did this quest with a lvl 51 rogue. He got the 3 shissar organs off of the Taskmaster in Echo Carvens and raised his faction out in Marus Seru by killing the Hand of Seru guards. All in all it took him about 2 days to collect all of the organs and raise his faction. Pretty good item for such an easy quest.

Don't reckon he would have found it so easy if he had to go to The Grey and hunt for the organs like me and a couple of my guild members did.

Raising Faction in Katta
# Oct 13 2002 at 3:20 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, You can raise your Katta faction by killing the Vamps in Tenebrous Mountains. Since there is a semi-war still between Sanctus Seru and Katta Castellum, I think you will raise faction by killing anything that lowers faction with SS. So, If you are an evil race, kill the SS guards.
Do it whilst being kos.

Explanation is on the quest page. Involves druid, harmony and invis. Just did it with my iksar necro and it worked great.

Faction Problem
# Oct 08 2002 at 1:39 AM Rating: Default
Ok. I've got the 3 organs, but i'm KOS. I'm DE SK. Any mobs i kill can help increase faction, so far i checked the web, seems like the only 2 mobs that can increse Katta faction is Lord Inquisitor Seru , a real uber mob and another lvl 55 mob, which i can't possibly handle
RE: Faction Problem
# Oct 08 2002 at 5:05 PM Rating: Good
Maybe someone more sure of theirselves than me will post, but I've always heard that killing the Coterie (Vampires/vampyres) in Tenebrous Mts will give good faction with Katta, and you can do the quest that way.

I'll go try to verify this, but hopefully someone else will post that's more sure about this.

me, an iksar sk, and a guildmate, a dark elf sk, went to katta castle and were totally kos from the start. i think the city is based around good classes/races and doesnt like the standard "evil" combos. so be warned.

# Aug 17 2002 at 3:57 PM Rating: Decent
How the heck is anyone gonna get to where he is? I've zoned from Twilight and could not get to his spot
good spot
# Aug 17 2002 at 10:47 AM Rating: Excellent
As you zone in from Mons Letalis, stay right there by the zone and move up the wall to the right or left. This is a safe spot and there are lots of Shissar's nearby. They're fairly easy to single-pull. The drop rate on the organs is rare and can be frustrating. For three organs expect to be there a while.

The item is multi-questable. I got one organ and a friendly enchanter who I had previously helped MQ'd the other two for me. As far as faction, I did it with a High-Elf Cleric (Tunare) and I had never been to Katta or spent much time on the moon. I believe my faction was indifferent.

Also, you'll probably want to turn clip-plane way down in this zone heh.

DMF
# Jul 29 2002 at 6:30 AM Rating: Decent
Hm...this thing with DMF and EB not working in The Grey. Dont hold me to it but I could swear on my life that i used DMF while getting this mulet. Was 55 Wizard (me), 55 Drood and 60 necro. We camped at the temple and necro kept pulling dot fearing. Was awsome! We even handeled 2 golems, 2 regular snakes and one lvl 55 Named at the same time! God was that necro awsome! Anyways, organs needed for this quest are semi-rare to rare. Think i got 3 of them in 3 or 4 hours. Dropps off a Shissar Reverant. Lvl 50ish mob. You can get some good loot while camping at the tempe side. We got lots of Shissar scale stuff, Grey Flesh gloves and a Golem Jawbome. GL all! Quest is not hard for a 51+ group!

The Grey (in Luclin), has no water, but it's a complete vaccuum, so there's no air. Have to use an EB item in the zone if you want to stay a while because DMF doesn't quite work in there, as well as some of the other EB spells.

Not true. DMF works great, as does normal EB.

Of course, an item like this is nice to have (I have one) but it's not necessary if you group with casters.
RE: effect
# Jul 14 2002 at 9:54 PM Rating: Excellent
That is correct, DMF works excellent in this zone. 1.) Enduring Breath 2.) Levitate 3.) Lasts 1hr 12mins 4.) You don't have to use up an item slot for an EB item.
When the DMF icon starts flashing and you know it is about to go out, there is time to run to a safe spot, find the spell in your book, mem the spell, and cast it before your breath runs down.
But.... when you die.. you are S.O.L. on mana to cast it. Which is why I keep an EB item in my pack.

Is this multi-questable?

Yes, this may be multiquested. Be aware that he may have an extra organ on him, so it is best to multiquest with one organ from you, and one+one from whomever the amulet is for, just to be safe.

SK's and monks can do this trick, invis up to this guy, get behind him and feign death (just be sure not to fail, if you do or he aggro's too quick, be sure and have SoW or SoE on). Once your FD'ed you are indifferent to him so you can turn in your organs and get that kool EB necklace.

Also if your not a monk or SK, you can do the old invising trick (although it requires someone to go with you that is not KoS there). 2 people go up to Drenic Garrison (obviously one needs to be able to cast invis and be non KoS). Person with the organs is invis and gets ready to hand them in, 2nd person starts casting invis on the first (a degree of timing is needed here). Just when the spell is about to land, hand in the first organ, and bang your invis again (and indiffernt to Drenic). Simply hand in the other 2 organs and thats it.

RE: about to finish
# Jul 11 2002 at 3:06 PM Rating: Excellent
I dunno about using Invis, but if the guy doesn't have his back smack against the wall, there's another trick you can try.

First of all, find out if you're KOS to the guy (/con from a distance, or have a non-KOS target him and run over to you so you can /assist and get the target to con (I'm not familiar with the place's layout, sorry)). If you're KOS, get Invis before you go in, and be ready to run like hell or have a buddy around to re-invis/port you after the turn-in. Use SNEAK, get behind the guy, and while still Sneaking and out of his line-of-sight, drop the Invis. You should be safely behind him and he should be Indifferent. Turn-in, and be ready to run like mad if he goes nutso on you afterwards.

This also works great to deal with NPC's that are not KOS to you but are still Dubious or Apprehensive. Getting to Indifferent makes the difference in completing some quests, getting a few more coins for your loot, or paying a few less for supplies.
RE: about to finish
# Jun 11 2002 at 4:20 PM Rating: Excellent
Pretty sure you can't interact with NPC's (talking or trading) while FD'd. At least that has been my experience on my necro. If you can, getting a druid friend to come with you to harmony would make it far easier as you can go visible after they harmony with out them attacking you.

Not quite true... yes you can't Hail/Chat with NPCs while FD and yes you need to pop up before you click give, but you can set up a trade window with an npc while FD.

On a side note: I bank all the time in cities I'm kos in with FD :)
