You make think this ring sucks you may like it, but the value of no drop on a PvP server make this ring awesome. I just found out about it and I can't wait to get it, it is a really nice no drop ring for how easy the quest is. I have better rings but neither are no drop so this is going to rule
i have two sets of rings the 6dex 6str ones and the velium diamond ones, you guys seem to be overlooking resists, my str is 191 so a 50 shammy can put me right around 255. Get your sta over 100, took me a while HEF rogue sta sucks. The only thing that I have noticed that makes a real difference is str,AC and resists the key is not to absorb the blows and nukes but to avoid them. that's what we are all about.
Personally, once I got sta over 100 i could care less. I don't worry about ac either. I am a rogue and I don't get hit, that is what evade is for. I let the warriors, sk, and paly worry about HP (sta) and ac. Its their job to tank, not mine. If i do get hit that means the main tank is probably dead and no matter what my hp and ac are i am going down unless another TANK gets it off me and the finger wigglers.
My job in end game is to pick locks, corpse run, and deal damage. Given that, stats, hp, and ac do not effect my ability to pick a lock or hide and sneak. Strength effects my BS damage and dex my procing. Those are really the only things i worry about.
Oh, and in case anyone is wondering....i never solo. If i can't find a group or raid to go on and would have to solo, i log to my druid or bst who are designed for soloing.
I too once thought like you on my rogue...all damage. While I agree that damage is key in general exp groups with a rogue, when you start fighting higher end mobs you will most definately want as many hps, as much ac and the best resists you can get. When the tank goes down, and we all know it happens, if you are the only other melee in the group it is damn nice for you to be able to play surrogate tank with some effectiveness. A rogue will never be a real tank, but a rogue with decent hps and someone to heal them can get the job done well enough to get the encounter over or get the tank rezzed and ready. And about evade, any rogue knows that sometimes evade fails...when I aggro a nasty mob off the tank and start getting pounded for 300 or more (or a hell of alot more in a raid encounter) and flurried on and all that I am damn glad that I decided to up my ac and hps. If you play your rogue to 60 you will see what Hoffdaddy and I are talking about, is not fun getting the hell pounded out of you or aed to death and dropping like a caster.
I to have over 100 STA.. I have 137 unbuffed STA infact. I do worry about my sta.. HP.. even my AC/resist. Have you ever heard of a thing called AE spells? they do damage to you if you are in front, back, or sides of the mob. SO when my high sta butt is dragging your uber lock picking rogues butt, I will be saying "wow he sure could pick a lock!"
So sta is the only stat that matters in end game? I'm glad dex, agi, int, wis, str, and cha doesn't matter... just sta... Whew... Now I can go make a little lvl 1 twink & pump everything into sta & be a tank. /sarcasm off FYI: All of your stats play some roll. Sta = hp... sure, but you need dex for hits, agi for ac, str for atk... Having high sta is nice for a twink meat shield who doesn't know what Evade means, but it's not so important to someone in a non-zerg guild, with group members that know how to work together. As a Rogue, you only need to get your sta over 100 for end-game. How else would all the old-school rogues (from the time when agi & dex were supposed to be king) survive now & be 60?
"The only stat that makes any difference in the end game is sta..."
52 rog here still waiting for this mythical endgame. (all this is from a rogues point of view)
I see what your saying when i got boon and uber shaman buffs my stats dont matter. But ya know what i spend _atleast_ 80% of my time with _neither_ of those 2. FURTHER when im in a party capable of dropping a 61% haste on my butt buffing each stat to 200... my sta means notta. My ac means notta... my hp means notta. We rock period! i could be naked cept for my evade and 11/22 10/22 daggers and no one would care (in fact as a role playing bit i always wear 1 ac sandals that my freind dropped on me once and no one cares).
So how to figure gear? IMO buy gear with the less then perfect situation in mind. Specifically things like last nite i was grouped with my 50 paly and 50 cleric friend. Just them. Thats when your gear matters. Thats when it shines or doesnt shine. But those situations are so controled that 6 ac 65hp vs a 6 dex 6 str is a tough call. On the line. Get what ya want i care not. ill group with ya either way
Now this guy would say but parses show that 6 more str doesnt mean crap to your damage output over time. Ya and bro 6 more ac doesnt mean crap to how much damage you take over time. on or off that ring isnt going to change that parse.
So what to waste your time and money on nowadays in the mythical endgame. Dont do little upgrades anymore. Start buying **** that will be _ok_ at 60. If that means you dont buy very often then so be it.
So instead of rings start thinking mrylokar (this is a rog quest link). Personally i love that ****. it fits my recipe of your gear matters most when your nearly alone. all those right clicks start being very handy.
Nope, the only stat that makes any difference end game is STA. STA is only of concern because it translates into more HP without an upper cap to it. You can never have too many HP, dropping your 6 AC, 65 HP rings for this thing would be a big mistake.
I've got 920ac and 2500hp (roughly self buffed) Seems like I could spare some. I'm thinking of changeing my rings from the 6ac 65hp ones to some stat ones like this. is this one worth it? appricate the input
