Anything that has a Recommended Level will scale if you are below that recommended level. Most of the time, the scaling is linear, but certain items like Trio Jewelry have scripts which aren't linear. See http://nathrach.republicofnewhome.org/gizmotron/ for a trio jewelry calculated that will demonstrate the non-linearity of the scaling. Notice, it's not bad until you go more than 5 levels below the rec. level, then the stats drop off dramatically.

You can also use http://lucy.allakhzam.com/ to see items they would be at different levels, by putting your level in the level text box and hitting enter.

In-game, you can see max stats by pressing the Modified button on the item display window to make it Unmodified.

All I can say is "hats off" to anyone who can get a full set of Elysian Armor pre-level 50. I mean come on just getting to UP is a challenge unto itself! And then once you get there finding your way to the 'safe' valley and binding there is also something to feel proud about. Nowadays, UP is pretty empty (maybe that's why Sony made it into an experience zone hot spot) but occassionally you might find a group fighting at the entrance. At level 53 I get a full blue bubble of experience for every 2 disturbed elysians I kill. Of course that's using ES Vambraces and my clicky lumi staff. Without these 2 items I run out of mana too quickly (and I have 255 Wisdom). They have a ton of HPs.

Despite the recommended lvl to acquire of most I attained a full suit of armor at lvl 33. Just sat high on the wall even healed a few of the tanks there fighting below me. Got me a full suit in about three days. Well worth my time hanging like a bat on the wall. Actually bound my low level **** way up on the wall and just gated back to there every eve, to check on the progress of those folks hunting there. Oh well good luck to all of you who dont have it all yet. Its worth the scary run across ME and into UP.

Full suit of Elysian armor on your level 1 druid twink - Priceless.

Sure the stats are nothing, but this suit is spandex baby, and will fit me better than any other gear I will get until I am 62+ and on the outer planes.

Find a halfling gm tailor and have them make you a full set of stormreaper boned armor. stats are about 1 less then elysian and no need to camp there until your high enough.

I can't help but disagree. The stats are AWESOME on this armor, and better than anything I have seen that drops anywhere short of tier 3 PoP, or some of the high end raid zones. Plus, this stuff is SOLOABLE. Grab a KEI, zip over to UP, head to safe alley, and pull away.

I'm not sure where they got this number from. I soloed elysians at 51. Admittedly, it was easier after 54, when I got Winged Death, but I had a full suit sans arms (like ES vambs better) BEFORE I hit 55.

Yes, I can see that, now that you point it out. However, WHY anyone would want elysians on a level 1, is beyond me. A suit of acrylia studded would be far superior, for at least 20 or 30 levels.

Although, I will say, there were lots of green con druids popping in to see if any was rotting, as I hunted mine, so maybe its a status thing, like getting a full set of Jarsath on a level 9 shaman used to be.

You're missing another point as to why you might want a suit at lvl 1..... It's FREE!
RE: Full Suit
# Jul 02 2004 at 3:40 AM Rating: Decent
And if you're under lvl 10, is camping rockhoppers or AC really an option? Think for a moment, if at that lvl you get buffed in PoK and survive the trip to UP, you CAN pick up many pieces of Elysian armor for FREE! I think that was the point of the original post. I tip my hat to someone who used some unorthodox thinking and now has a set of elysian armor that will last them until lvl 60 or so. All it cost them was some time and the nerve to make the trip.

Well, by the same argument, Acrylia studded is nearly free. All I need to do is camp rockhoppers for hides, then camp AC for ore, camp windstones, etc for the tempers, then spend a really small amount of pp (about 20 total) on storebought components for the tannen. Put them in a sewing kit, combine, and nearly free leggings.

Nothing in game is really "free" its just a matter of whether you spend time or pp.

I was able to Loot these last night. I finally screwed up enough courage to make the journey based on all the tips I've read here. When I got there I /ooc very polite, humble like, if there was any chance that a younger druid might score some rotting armor. There were 2 toons in zone besides myself and they said yes. Little did I know, there was none rotting they actually took the time to give me their first kill (b4 telling me to scram rofl). Exhilirating! And a beautiful item.

RE: LEVEL TO ATTAIN????
# Jan 05 2004 at 10:39 AM Rating: Default
You're thinking of the "Required Level of..." tag on items. If something says Required Level of X, then you cannot equip that item until you reach that level. The "level to attain" on Alla is just about what level a person should be in order to try to group to loot the item. If you're soloing, add about 5 levels or forget about it, depending on the mob that drops the item.

Some skills (like all languages for instance) are more likely to increase the higher your intelligence is. Sooo the higher your intelligence the faster your intelligence based skills will go up. While this may not seem important at first I remind you that all tradeskills get better the more intlligent you are (Cause you can learn faster/better and all). Now I beleive that intelligence doesn't nessesarily affect your success rate, just your rate of skill increases.

All in all you will save more money in your tradeskills cause you'll increase faster.

tradeskill skillups are based on the HIGHER of either INT or WIS. Some tradeskills also have a 3rd stat, like strength for smithing, dex for fletching.

So for someone doing smithing, the HIGHEST of str, wis and int will determine skillup chance. The other two will have no effect.

For a druid, that would inevitably be wis.

However, I do agree that there MIGHT just be some use for the stat that isn't known, so I certainly won't complain about the INT being there, because these would still be awesome pants without it.

More INT than WIS
# May 07 2002 at 3:53 AM Rating: Decent
OK, now this doesn't make too much sense for these leggings to have 7 WIS and 10 INT, more INT than WIS when they're DRU only leggings? Don't get me wrong, I love the pair that I own (very nice upgrade from Gatorscale, of all things) and won't replace them anytime soon, but I really do think that when they nerfed the AC from 26 to 16, they should have used those 10 AC points to put into WIS, not just 7 of them.

Looking at all the INT caster gear there is in UP, none of it has more WIS than INT, but yet druids get this...I'd be much happier if it was 10 wis/7 int instead of vice versa...
RE: More INT than WIS
# Mar 05 2003 at 9:36 PM Rating: Decent
Thinking positive about the nerf,

it used to be int only so in that aspect it's a huge improvement towards original stats. Te ac is nice but the druidskill is not to get hit too often and kite them nicely too death. After now having taken a couple of them, the strategy of not getting hit comes into 1st place no matter how high ac is they still hit around 150. And soloing these mobs means often 00m kiting despite having c3. Epic weap would be real cool to have for this situation, but luckily there are elder spiristist vambraces.

Now what about the int? I've been working a bit with int increasing stats on a product close to trivial. (halas meatpies) and though i've never seen it documented the succesrate seems to be a bit higher when int is increased. Now i did for testing 2 stacks per test. in the folowing order high int, low int, low int, high int. My wis was stable at 206 and my int was 143 and 151. on the high int succesrate was approx 75-80% and on low int it was 70%. (got one skillpoint somewhere during 3rd test wich was with high int.

Conclusion for me is that int does seem to matter for druids but apperently only during tradeskills.
(Note testing methology is not very good and contain too few samples to be truly representative)

Another benefit of the high int, despite it's trivial, is that raising our int means we can drink more before getting totally intoxicated

The only downside of this set, is that it doesn't affect DR. But that's something i gladly suffer for the rest of the stats.

RE: More INT than WIS
# Mar 31 2003 at 8:08 PM Rating: Decent
Despite the imperical evidence you have presented regarding the effect of INT in tradeskills for druids ... the last official word is this:

Quote:

The basics:
INT & WIS: whichever of the two is higher will affect skill increases when practicing any tradeskill. The higher either your INT or WIS is, the greater the chance you have for a skill gain while tradeskilling.

CHA: higher charisma, along with faction, will affect your buying and selling prices with merchants.

Exceptions to the above:
Smithing: skill increases for smithing are determined by INT, WIS or STR, whichever is higher.

Fletching: skill increases for fletching are determined by INT, WIS or DEX, whichever is higher.

Jewelcrafting: skill increases for jewelcrafting are determined by INT, WIS or DEX, whichever is higher.

While tailoring has been mentioned several times as needing DEX, at last check it was still not implemented.

Stats have no impact on your chance of success or failure when practicing tradeskills. (Only your current skill is supposed to impact your chances of success or failure when creating an item, as well as modifier such as Geerlok.)

Lets take a minute and think about the fact that druid only gear drops in umbral planes, off soloable mobs which are easy to pull to a corner and kill. Basically completeing a set of this armor simply requires patience. Now the armors for all the other classes require 2 people (maybe one supah ubah person) and usually 3 or more, and is divided into plate and cloth. Id personally go kiss the head of sony eq development if they made a luclin zone where i could upgrade my sks gear solo. So it only has 7 wis and great ac for leather, risk vs reward for these is insane, only cause of death ive seen is trained by other druids and link death.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 31 2002 at 9:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This was a pretty good item, until the AC was nerfed away. I mean, 16 AC? What a joke? At least they added some wisdom to compensate, but if they nerfed 10 AC, it should have been 10 wisdom they added.

Personally, I think +7 Wis is probably worth more than the 10 less AC... and that's probably still more AC than any other pants that we Druids can wear. Not that I'm saying Druids don't NEED AC, but past 50, I don't tend to tank things any more, whether solo or grouped, so it's not quite as high an importance as a decent mana pool, and the bonus Stamina and HP don't hurt our survival one bit. :)

I currently wear Gladiator's Chain Leggings and I would swap those for these any day. These have 9 more AC, plus at 60th lvl for a druid 1 STA = 3HPs, which works out to the really having 95 HPs on them. Would I rather them have 10 WIS? Hell yeah! But with few exceptions these are some of the best legs for a druid to get.
good legs
# Jan 16 2002 at 12:37 AM Rating: Decent
normally I just read posts here, skim info I need, etc...but just once I felt I wanted to say something...

Ok...your average druid will probably look at these and say "where's the WIS? I want WIS on everything!". Hmm you can make up WIS deficiecies in other slots, average druid person. Your well equipped druid will look at these and say "holy cow, these rock!". My point is this - All that extra WIS, all that extra mana ain't gonna do you jack squat if you get aggro and die. STA = HP. HP + AC are good, they tend to keep you alive. And goodness, they have sv cold +10 on there as well. Resists + HP + AC all on a single item? That..well..rocks.

I could imagine a similar argument ensuing over Gladiator Chain Arms when they were first discovered a while back. "No WIS on these arms? God that sucks!" "Nope, no WIS...but tonnes of STR, DEX, HP, AC, and resists."

Oh and the INT? Dunno about that, just chalk it up to RPing purposes. Perhaps these Elysians were renown for their intelligence. :P
RE: good legs

Well i can just say if these legs helped me live longer yesterday when bridge keeper and 5 other mobs trained my group in Chardok it was really nothing i noticed in the 5 sec i lived :-)

I must still say i like these legs and dont plane on changing them anytime soon :-)
Awesome leggings
# Jan 14 2002 at 8:01 PM Rating: Decent
Okay EVER person that says that these are bad leggings are pretty much a bunch of idiots. Do you realize how high 26 ac is? Okay its not good ac it is excellent ac. I am a wood elf druid and I have 225 wis right now and I don't have my epic, plus 10 wis from AA exp I will have well over 255 wis if I wanted to.

I hope, I pray that these drop and all the druids out there that think these are so crappy are with me so I get them over you.

You complain about the +10 int on the legs but you don't realize that the best part about these is its ac and hp increase. I don't know what you all have right now for leggings but I have military leggings with +6 wis I think I would be more than happy with 219 wis and a lot more ac and hp.
int or wis? who cares!
# Jan 03 2002 at 1:07 PM Rating: Decent
Whether its Int or Wis on them doesn't matter...in a pinch, 26ac will save your butt, 255wis, int or even str won't do diddly for a druid about to get beat on...if that 26ac causes a miss and gives you that extra second to run away with your sow...need I say more?

whether soloing or grouped (the mob does not summon.. I killed one solo at 55 but it had nothing.. pooo) your average druid would have over 200 wis anyway.

26 ac is UNHEARD OF on legs, especially druid legs. These are NUTS. The hp 50 is darn nice too. Both of those to me are worth more than 10 wis on legs.

I definately want the bp and legs for an AC/travelling kit ;) Gad really you could build a tanking kit after getting those.. ahhaa.
RE: yeah by the time a druid gets these,
# Feb 21 2003 at 7:02 PM Rating: Decent
the reas where druids excel are widely open planes though you can always get stalked by mobs for sure it's a bloody nice set, even though may be nerfed. For my halfelf druid wich was created with way too low wis anyway. (Didn't know anything about char creation when i created this toon) So the wis on leggins is awesome for me and yet still a high ac and some nice resists that will add up quite nicely. For soloing druids who take the open planes it's excellent where it involves grouping and getting possible agro due to a heal or debuf too early, the ac might get you there with less damage but basically it all depends on the melees and tank wheather or not they can get agro away from you. And we druids are simply not designed for tanking at these lvls (sad but true).

The +10 int is ncie for drinking contests and for the rest i don't know if it may in some way affect tradeskills (as 3rd or 4th parameter)but it doesn't hurt, just a bonus.

Now i haven't been on the POP-planes much yet and maybe there drops even better gear but in my idea it's one of the best packages in town.

Another advantage of this gear might be that according to the pic it's lore. Now with LOY coming up keep a set in stock at the bank if you get doubles, it might come in handy on a corpserun.

Why it should have WIS and not INT
# Dec 23 2001 at 4:08 PM Rating: Decent
It's simple why I would say the INT is useless, now that 255 WIS acually means something, it will be important to have WIS in most any slot for a druid. These would be good for the RARE druid who has 255 WIS already and is looking for a AC/HP boost. I'm not saying there a bad item, I just think the INT stat is useless for a druid.
RE: Why it should have WIS and not INT
# Dec 28 2001 at 2:55 AM Rating: Default
The ac. The stamina. The hit points. These are DAMN nice for a druid. I am not that preoccupied with 255wisdom atm. Would rather keep my wisdom at around 200 and get better ac (this is HUGE ac for a druid)

As for the reason why no wisdom. Why the hell are we getting 13charisma boots from Thurg armour quests? Or 15dex boots from SS? From what I can figure Verant is just trying to round off all the stats for a "better" all rounded charactures.

Another thing we should be looking at is some of the new items from places like Maiden Eye or The Grey. range slots with 15wisdom, face items with 9wisdom. If you're even close to being able to get these legs then you can easally get those items. Need multiple groups to get to this mob (get so many adds just getting to him it aint even funny), where as in teh grey or maiden eye you need one (two max)
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 22 2001 at 6:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) 26 ac and 15 stamina?
Er...

I guess I am the only one that'd wear these for the AC alone... I sport a flayed paebala tunic for the AC as well instead of my vermiculated tunic, and will continue to wear it until I get a nature walker's to replace it. *shrugs* I just don't think it's a problem to get wisdom in other places, and these leggings are over double the AC of most other druid legs out there.

I wore a sarnak battle shield for the saves/AC until I got a Shield of Thorns from ToV, despite there being items out there for druids that have high yielding wisdom for the offhand slot. I don't see how this would be any different.

int & wis
# Dec 21 2001 at 9:43 AM Rating: Decent
Well by the time most will be getting htese they will already have over 200 wisdom sure they have added in more mana now for wis but.

Haveing a pair of leggings with added int you can change out for doing trade skills. ie at this point you could get wis int and dex over 200. while doing tailroing or other skills thus increasing your success and your chance of getting skill increases.
mind you thats provided you have a nice shammy and enchanter along to buff you as well before hitting your combines.

I see 2 possiblities.

1. It's simply wrong and will be fixed at a later date... lol

2. These are going to be part of a quest. Now, far from me to tempt fate, but perhaps some kind NPC will 'fix' the item for you and apply some needle and thread to change the INT to WIS?
