The problem is we get all these new expansions and we get new and better loot but they dont upgrade the old stuff even if it is a old mob it should be better coming off a dragon. dont think this is worth even 50pp anymore just my 2 cents.

13/30 isn't such a great damage ratio anymore. I have owned one hand blunt and slash weapons that did more damage and some of those had procs/effects/buffs on them and cost me 100PP or less in bazaar. Looks like this formerly uber item has been reduced to flea market junk making attending a dragon raid a much less attractive propostion. I guess Sony is making the risk/reward ratio on older drops less attractive to get players to keep buying the latest expansions.

Im a lvl 44 Beastlord. And I still carry this as my main weapon. Though the mobs I am fighting now are getting a little too tough for it. It has served me well. I got it about 15 lvl's ago. And it was a great weapon @ that lvl. So if you are lvl 30 or below, and thinking about getting this. I would have to say go for it.

Just done my first Voxx n Naggy raid it was a blast! Accept the Naggy Raid , The leader (Ckrow) of the Order of the Sword on Torv server decided to change the rules of the raid at last minute and try n get GREEDY with the loot ..how ever he did let loot go accept the Cloak of Flames that dropped off of Naggy. they stated they reserved the right to keep the cloak or the book due to prior reservs .....a read of there boards stated they would possibly reserve the goods from Naggy but no such luck ........Well in the end they kepth the cloak and Had a nice walk out of the dungeon , due to everyone leaving them behind.
However I did manage to get my hands on this spear ...wish I could use it ...:)

PreKunark, this was "THE" rogue weapon. a 13 dmg piercer was unheard of, and wih the dificulity of taking down Vox, think back now, everyone was 50 at the highest, this was very saught after. But now that 12 and 13 dmg piercers are dropping like crazy, this weapon has been overlooked. The Risk vs Reward just isnt worth it anymore. Well Kudos to anyone that remembers when this was one of the best weapons out.

Across from this dropping of a Dragon, there's NO reason it should cost more than 400, 500 max. I have a Sturdy Grimling Mining Pick at 12/29 and +3sv disease, which go for next to nothing on most servers now, a 13/30 with no stats doesn't sound that hot.
Ultra Rare, yes - Cool story of how you got it, sure - But 7000 for sell? Not a chance.

Bards get a level 10 song that makes any weapon they weild magical. so dual weidling sturdy grimling mining picks on magic mobs is possible.
At the same time, this thing is HEAVY. You thought Centi Swords were stamina suckers well at 6.8 this goes to the top of the list.
So I can wield this one and twist in Stamina song, or the grimling pick and forget stamina.

You forget one thing, the grimling pick is not magic. A number of mobs may not be hit by the pick. True, that doesnt make up for the extreme difference in price, but then again how rare is this? I know I wouldn't sell something this rare for mere pennies. My bet is that most of these just get circulated between guildies and friends, and very very few are ever sold. But when they do sell you can bet its for a lot more than 500.

Well, went on my *first* dragon raid last night, and contributed to Lady Vox's demise by having no less than seven straight spells resisted, before I died.
On the bright side, we took her out, with 6 almost full groups and a few buffers/clearers, and NO enchanters.
She dropped two of these big ol stickers, along with one bag, two Divine warhammers, and a rez stick.
No one out of the entire raiding party wanted the two spears at all... to sell or otherwise, so my little 19 rogue twink has a new toy.
Point being, 7K is entirely fictitious for this item, and generally is regarded as a crappy drop from Lady Vox. Could be useful to a lower level rogue for some big Backstab damage, but after just a few hours of use I have really noticed the stamina drain from it. I'd put price under 300 plat.

This isn't worth most liky even 1k anymore with SoL SoV, i just got 12, 29 piercers for 1p each and there common drops only down side is not magic

Many Rogues malign the CS these days because it is slow. Yep, slow it is. Still, using this in the main hand and at maximum haste really only shifts my damage from spam hits to bigger backstabs versus a Trak Tooth for example. I could play the swap and stab game but I'm not going to.
It is a great weapon, it's major drawbacks being weight and slowness. Sure, take an upgrade if you can but she'll see you through to Ragebringer whether you get the epic at 50 or 60.

I don't know what the big deal is about the price. Look at somewhat identical weaps, dragon bone shard 17500, and thunder war spear 12500. Both don't proc and your paying 8000 more just for a -4 delay for the dragon bone. A high dmg spear is hard to find, unless its no drop. This isn't a warrior weapon, its meant for a rogue to get the high backstabb. It would be WAY too much if it was a slashing weap. But its not. Anyone wants it I might sell mine on cazic, trying to upgrade to a weapon that procs. Thats just my 2cp.

All the newbies cry on the price of this, but you got to understand that this was one the BEST rogue weapon in the game. And its still damn rare as it is.

Ok, lets check out the Dagger of Blood (either pre or post-nerf). First question: how many of these do we honestly believe there are active in the game across all the servers? Maybe a half dozen or ten? Lets try comparing apples to apples here. Just because one new super weapon drops on your server, a weapon that will probably never go up for sale (at least not in platinum pieces, if you know what I mean) shouldn't realistically have any effect on the economy for other weapons. The economy is only affected when that item goes on the market and enough of them exist to establish a reliable price point.

Your right Mursirkeshda.. And besides Mrylokars dagger of blood drops were? Temple Of veshan ,oviously alot harder to get than a Crytalline spear . And there only bout of few Myrlokars daggers on my server and the uber guild Cats in Hats has them.

Key word: WAS. As in before epic weapons/Kunark, Velious and its uber items (Mrylokar's Dagger of Blood for instance). One of if not the best old world rogue weapon you can get.
I remember when the sheild of the slain unicorn was 4k on some servers, I bought one the other day for 100. Prices drop this one prolly still lists high because of those earlier prices and peoples reluctance to sell something they paid 10k for for 5k. People just have to realize that things eventually lose their value, its a fact in EQ just as much as it is in real life.

Thunder Runed War Spear is a 13/30 rog useable weapon.It also has 25hp and 5ac.Better weapon.

You're both right. Ragebringer is 15/25, effect of Seething Fury: 40% haste, some atk, some ac.
This makes it approximately 15/16 or so.
Primal Velium one-handers are 13/20, 5 to all stats (except maybe 50 hp/mana), and proc Avatar.
With say, RB, and a primal velium weapon offhand (warsword, hammer, spear, all are 13/20), you'd essentially be wielding a 15/16 weapon and a 13/12 weapon. This is before your friendly neighbourhood enchanter hastes you.

In fact, there is now a better primary (and backstabbing) weapon for rogues than Ragebringer itself.
It is the Primal Velium Spear.
No website references Primal weapons yet, but the most ubber members of the ubberest guilds (like Fires of Heaven, Afterlife or Vane) already have some.
You can only guess how powerful those weapons can be...

How can this thing be worth so much?!? 12K for this thing? I don't know about the dam/delay on rogue weapons, but I know that they can get something MUCH better for MUCH less.
There are three reasons why this weapon is as expensive as it is.
First it is hard to get. Even if the demand for it is not high, the supply is even lower driving up price.
Second, It is dragon loot, and thus a novelty item, this too adds to the price.
Third, high damage rogue piercers are more valuable that you should think. This is because high backstabs are flashy, and because it is possible to do weapon swapping, changing to a high damage weapon for backstab, and changing back to a faster weapon right after.
For pure performance, it is not bad either. As a rule of thumb rouge pierces can be evalueted on the damage ration alone, as the main hnad damage bonus is balanced by backstab potential. This only applies at around level 30-55, where you have damage bonus, but not double backstab.

For backstabbing, only the damage of the weapon is muliplied. Thus, the higher the damage, the higher the backstabs.

Also this is dragon loot and usually makes these types of items more rare than others so this is the primary basis for pricing. It might not be the best piercer in the game but it comes off of Lady Vox herself and that has to count for some thing.

The answer to your question is simply one word....Backstab! Take a look at the options a rogue has. 13 damage is awesome for the big backstab. To get a higher backstab you have to get the epic weapon or a gunthak harpoon.

I've never played a rogue, so I'm not sure, but wouldn't the delay factor into how often you backstab? Therefore, with a better dam/del sweapon that has a lower damage, wouldn't you BS more often but with less damage, and since the weapon has a better dam/del it would work out better? As I said, I've never played a rogue, so I'm just wondering

You can backstab every 8 seconds. Nothing will cahnge that. If you have a delay 17 Locustlure or a delay 30 spear, youll still have a chance to backstab only every 8 seconds.

Yes, haste decreases your BS delay.
Base (unhasted) recycle on BS is about 8 seconds.
High level rogues with epic + haste spells BS every 3-5 seconds.

Just upgraded from a trak tooth to this spear. I traded trak tooth and 4k for it. well worth it. My max unbuffed BS was 229 with the tooth. Having this for only a few hours, I reached 293 unbuffed. Well worth the 4k pp I spent on it.
