/Claim the Temporal Chrysalis.
A Temporal Chrysalis is placed into your inventory slot.
Upon right clicking the Temporal Chrysalis:
You spin to face north.
You receive a Bridle of the Corrupted Sokokar into your inventory slot.
Upon right clicking the Bridle of the Corrupted Sokokar:
You begin casting Summon Corrupted Sokokar.
Your Bridle of the Corrupted Sokokar begins to glow.

So, I guess I've had this thing in my bank all this time until today. I decided to pull it out and hatch it. It's the most hideous thing I've ever seen. Can't believe I wasted a precious bank slot on it for so long.

i got a new mount from it: bridle of the corrupted sokokar. looks like a small black dragon and its awesome.
its speed matches that of my old chain bridle horse, so i sold that in the baz, got reimbursed for it, which is nice cuz now i have an extra 80k in my pocket =oD

!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!
do NOT click on your chrysalis till AFTER you buy SoD and it is installed/payment has cleared.

Also: you will only get one of these if you are a Living Legacy player returning from a long break and you bought SoF as your come-back expansion. the chrysalis was a claim item with that expansion for the living legacy players.

I have not yet /claimed this item yet along with all the other items I been 'given' by Sony to return to EQ. So is this a mount like what I bought over 2 years ago? The description says..."Spell Effect: Attempts to temporally shift the chrysalis into the present and allow it to hatch." ATTEMPTS? Does this mean if it fails this item is now useless? Is this item worth claiming is what it gets down to. Please someone tell me.

Also if you hatched it how could you sell it? It is No Trade item. As with all the items given me all are No Trade so please explain to me how to /claim them and then sell them. I would like to make a few plat off them if I can, aleast THAT could be of use to me!

Seems to me that these items are really nothing special and easy to aquire in game. So I ask Sony why bother at all with these items. At least getting them in game you get exp as well.

The only item(s) it seems of any value to the charecter is the Potion of Adventure which gives (? %) of exp for 30 mins and we already have that with the veterans rewards called Lesson of the Devoted.

I am very disapointed in my 'gifts'. As far as I can tell they are nothing special and many are being called junk.

/sigh

First, it doesn't fail, its just bad grammar.

Second, he sold his previous mount a chain bridle, which can be done through a quest at the stable. You turn it in, recieve a large bag of platinum, sell the large bag of plat, for less than you originally paid for the horse (can also be done with drogmars).

Lastly, not all items were junk at the time of their expansion, especially the faction modifying ones. Doing BIC back in GoD expansion with the staff made it slightly easier for one portion of it. Most of the rewards are obsolete now though. SOE tried to give the players not so bad items, but not overpowered stuff, to be somewhat useful for the expansion that was being released. You got faction modifiers, jboot knock offs, mounts, graphic enhancers, defiant armor, etc. Free stuff is free stuff, don't want it, don't claim it.

What would you give as a free gift, that isn't 100% useless junk, but won't do more than slightly decrease the time it takes for a player to accomplish 1 goal, with class, race, level, etc etc all being mostly irrelevant?

Well now that the SoD expansion is live. Tried right clicking this item. Got the message "The temporal chrysalis pulses slowly and cracks open to release a small creature". Then you spin to face North. Nothing else happens. Sent in a petition to see if I can get my chrysalis back.

No, it's not a dragon mount. The mount you are referring to is the Bridle of the Corrupted Sokokar, but also Living Legacy Promotion players who didn't get the Temporal Chrysalis will get the mount. Guess we will have to wait until SoD goes live...

I'm another returning player and got this in my little Sony gift bag. Not knowing what it is, I tried it. I only get a message station, "It does not quite seem ready to hatch." So it must be for the upcoming expansion. I've banked it and will wait. Sony handed out Defiant armor like crazy, so they may have some special twink in mind for these things.

So if you used it already and got the True North thing, it's gone and you're screwed? Nice of them to let you know ahead of time...
