dodge?

I am confused does the Dodge skill mod reflect a 7% increase in your dodge skill or does it increase your ability to dodge by 7%

I am pretty sure that an earlier poster is correct. At some level (30?), a monk's feet become magical even when he is naked. The same thing happens to our fists. It has nothing to do with the type of attack used, although I think at lower levels there are some special attacks that aren't magical. If I were to use one of those non-magical special attacks at my current level of 55, it would hit even if I had not magical weapons or other equipment.

I have heard that the official word from Verant states that items that increase skills can't increase them past 252. I guess they haven't programmed their game engine to handle skills over 252.

Actually I think that the only attack that isn't magical for a monk is the first, and that is the "normal" kick. All other "special" attacks are magical in the sense that you can do damage to creatures that can only be damaged with magical weapons.

If the "normal" kick gets magical at lvl 30 along with the our hands I do not know.

I am the one who got these and posted them here. Glad to see they made it.

I am a 56 Monk the +7% isnt too noticable considering Monks only dodge about 3% of all attacks during a fight. So it actually ends up being about 4.5% dodged.

Is the weight correct on these? If so, would you use over barbed dragonscale boots?

Weight is 0.0 They're nice but the sta and hps and extra 5ac of the barbed dragonscale make those better. Unless you have a weight problem i'd go with barbed dragonscale boots if you can get.

These boots have a cool red look on female iksars
well...

Note to all on monk abilities. Most monks above level 10 replace their initial kick and round kick with a specialty attack (including a few punches and Flying Kick). The specialty is magical and does not require a magical boot or glove to work. It is true that very high level disciplines make use of the early non magical skills skills, and for those that use these, a pair of magical boots may be necessary (if the mob cannot be hit with less than magic). For most who would use these, this is not a concern.

For those of you monks too high to remember, at level 30 something magical happened : feet and hands became able to hit magic! I've never tested this out to see if that means that with non magical gloves/boots my monk could hit magical mobs, but he should be able to.

Note for (non-monk) melee-types: These are NON-magical, therefore if you use Kick then you'll want to look elsewhere. Sweet deal for monks, though. :)
i like it, i like it alot

this is incredible, i think, even if it has no uber stat buffs like everything else in this exspassion. THe dodge more then makes up for any lack of stat increase, anythign that can prevetn someon from hitting me is worth so much more then any stat increase. this dodge mod is incredible...W00T, you skill has capped at 250 in dodge, but wait, you have about 270 with this!yeah!!!

Really nice AC so far as monk boots go, too, even with the utter lack of stats.
