“When you play this ability, you may take an ability from your discard pile and play it. That ability costs –3 power to play.â€
This is a raid card. The raids are different from the standard games using the standard cards. I’ve not tried them yet, so I’m not sure how useful this one is in practice. On average I don’t go crazy about cards that cost more than they pay out in Attack/Defense/Lvl. This costs 3 but only pays off with 2 points towards quest completion or 2 points in defense. So in that respect it’s pretty standard looking. The ability to play a second ability card from your discard pile and play it cheaply could be very nice if it comes off well in practice. But it doesn’t get me particularly excited.
When the promo for these was in full swing I never paid over a few hundred plat for them. But now 500+ is usually what you’ll find them at on Bristlebane and I think that’s a fair price atm, but I still wouldn’t pay much over 500. They are still pretty common in that price range.
In general I’d say, If you can’t find the raid cards you need in the baz, or they are outrageously priced… I’ve been seeing some raid cards at 100k and that’s just silly… by all means buy a selection of other raid cards more reasonably priced and trade them in the LoN trade lobby for the one’s you are missing. The cards that were/are priced 15k and more in the baz, I traded for with 5, 4, 3k and sometimes less in other raid cards. Same goes for promo cards too… cards like hate, and chocolate goblin that are rare in the baz are easy and cheap to get trading in LoN if you know how.
Now that the big promo is over for these raid cards… If I wanted to build a deck from scratch, at this point I’d probably just set up a buyer and buy boosters as cheaply as I could get them and use those to trade for the raid cards, at least the one’s that are no longer cheap and common. You don't have to pay outrageous prices to get your cards, and there is no excuse for charging outrageous prices.
None of the raid cards are worth over 3k as far as I'm concerned, even now. I might possibly pay 5k for one or two of the rarest if I were still building my deck and if I didn't want to be bothered with LoN trading, but I'd have to be feeling really generous and really lazy.
