FYI, killed this guy on mac server tonight with a guild group, 53 pally, 54 mage, 53 mage, 50 ranger (me), 51 mage, and 37 druid as healer. he was cake and dropped the ring, lost roll to the pally though. Anyone know how to get him to spawn? trying to get ring for myself...
I was running back to DSP Zone Line from UP and ran right by this huge Worm (a thought stealer). It conned yellow to me so I figured, 'hey good xp.'
I waited about 10mins for it to wandering into position near the Gorange Scouts, and pulled him to the front of the DSP Zoneline to kite it. I was twisting CoF, CoFl, CoD, CoP and Selos(49) with a walrus Skin Drum. I did not get hit once and the fight took about 22mins.
Only 1% xp and thank God it didn't drop the gloves. =) I love my ring and will show it off with pride.

Where does this guy spawn and how often? I haven't seen him yet but this is a nice ring.

This item is still dropping off of the named worm in ME. It appears to be the common drop though, sadly I am waiting for one of the more rare drops off of him.
I still wear it on day to day equipment for the resists ... although I ought to go chase some slime in CT ... Still, it is a good drop off of a relativly simple boss mob in ME. Click on the link to the mob for some peoples hunts on him.

well not quite soloed, Maiti <cleric friend much love maiti> took care of this wurm this guy with epic and ToV bracer, took around 25min. dropped slighted gloves

This dropped off the Thought Stealer worm in Maiden's Eye. I heard it was an Uber monster and pulled him and he was red to me at 55th. We subsequently where in the fight of the nite with this bad daddy worm. Tough to hit when standing next to him for whatever reason. I was pullin with Spirit of eagle but was on ground next to him when fightin. Other tank said it was tough to hit him too so his ac must be kinda high. Losta hps on him as well as fight took well over 7 minutes prob 10. Thanks to all who helped me get ring off him. Rolled a 482 and my strategy for rolls is hit the damn keyboard as hard as ya can! Slow is a must against him.

Been hunting ME for the past few weeks, and the thought stealer is a bonus. This thing pops and we've killed it quite a few times, and mainly using pets (necro & druid/chanter charmed) for tanks. No very high mr, landed all debuffs and dots. Nuker posted back and dropped ice comets like rain. Dead mob in a few minutes. Rings and gloves dropped...no earings =(
Nice little mob to pop if you can get to him first. Easy and quick for a decent group who knows what they are doing, or a long fight for the soloist that knows what they are doing. Just do your self a favor and drag it somewhere where you will get no/few adds.
btw...Xi Vius makes an awsome pet, espcially the sk version. Nothing better then seeing an add coming to kill you, become your pet, buff themselves and kill at your will./grin

I haven't seen one person with this ring on Vallon since I aquired it way back when. I am curious with the lack of posts if this was taken of the drop list for the Thought Stealer. I know it sure as heck can't be a common drop but more like Ultra rare if he still drops it.

The worm that drops it is named like Thought Stealer. He is just as hard as the Xin Thall reds and such. So he is not that hard to take down with a average group in ME. He spawns near Akcheva Ruins zone. Hope this info helps=)

Just looking to get some information on the item...like who drops it, that would be very informative.

This drops from the though leech, it is a level 60 worm thingy. It hits very hard and has around 20k hp. Good luck killing it with a pickup group.

Pick up group can easily take these...52 ranger (me) as the only tank...cleric, chanter, wizzy and necro...easy...didn't get the ring though...hehe

Ok, good luck killing with a pickup group? you gotta be kidding me. I dont even think he hits in the 200+ range, course I wasnt tanking(56 enchanter) but he does hit fast. I landed slow no problem(thank god for these new aggro buffs) and the cleric and druid healed easily. group was bard, enchanter, war, rogue, cleric and druid all 56+. Easy fight

Well, I see what I'll be keeping my eyes open for while in Maiden's Eye. This will be a nice replacement for my +8 all saves ring. I will gladly give up 3 on my saves to gain the AC and stat boosts. See you all (plus your brothers, sisters, third cousins, etc.) in ME.
