I have one available for sale on Drinal. If interested, please send an in game tell to Anoirra or email me at kiryea@yahoo.com with your genuine offers. Will endeavour to get back to you within 24 hours.
Ok. i have spent numerous evenings in Greg's End trying to find the alchemist that drops this... she has never spawned in the location listed so we tried tracking her with a druid... still nothing. Is there a secret trick? Something specific you have to kill to get the Alchemist to spawn? i feel as if we have killed everything in the zone on several cylces and she is becoming a myth to me. Any suggestions on how to obtain this stone would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks. Karily Ncheese Brell Serelis

The chicken McNuggets can give you a 50% chance to no get feared from dragons like Vox or Fay. The Whopper can be a 2 handed mega meal that has to be equipted to eat, requires main slot and secondary be empty. Flame Away hehehe
This stone drops of alchemist valorian in griegs end and NO it isnt no rent as the picture clearly shows you but if you would read you would know that. I am just curious if anyone know what this thing is worth it took myself and the rest of a group of 60's 10 minutes to drop this thing it has massive HP
This stone is worth as much as you can get out of it. ( I know that is vague, but it varies.) It is one of two items that grant an alchemy skill greater than 5%, and is the ONLY droppable one of the sort, this it is very nice loot for an alchemist. I only paid a few thousand pp for mine, but I would have gladly paid 20k. This stone will reduce failures on expensive potions like gate and the end of an alchemists career. Also, with the new discord expansion, we are seeing that the 200+ trivial potions are actually having a trivial of 228 or so, which means that the high you can get over that 200 skill soft cap the better ( you will be having a lot more success with a 230ish trivial potion if your modified skill is 220 rather than only 200.)
Alchemist Valrona - approximately 20K HPs and Massive Regen. HPs are hard to estimate due to the regeneration. Doubles in the mid-100s.
We entered the zone from the Dawnshroud side... had a druid tracking her. Finally found her in a laboratory room - potions bottles, etc. on workbenches - at LOC N50, P2425.
We pulled her outside to the large, long room. We got one add that we kept mezzed during the fight.
Loaded her up with shaman epic DoT and disease DoTs. Poison DoTs wouldn't stick - even after Malosi. She was slowed with Turgur's - didn't try before Tash and Malosi, though. Chain nuked with JBB (hit for max after Malosi every time).
Druid said she dotted him, as well.
All in all - the damage she dealt was minimal - especially after the slow hit her. You really do need to plan on having the DPS or I could see where this would be a LOOOONNNNGGGG fight.
She dropped the Philosopher's Stone, which is what we were killing her for in the first place. :)
For those wondering, no... fusion of heavy metals is not this trivial. It takes a massive amount of energy, and very controled coditions. If the words "the crap out of" occur in your description of the process, I'm gomma guess you need a reality check ;-)

I am willing to bet it is a quest item since it is No drop,... wonder if it is next step in Shaman Epic, remember all you Heyokah recieved a broken arrow in Eruds Crossing ??? well I was told by a bird it would come into play soon...
This has nothing to do with the shaman epic, it is from Luclin, not Kunark era and drops off the Alchemist in Grieg's End. The 'a broken arrow' we are receieved is a dead end quest.

Posted:Dec 15 2001 at 6:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OMFG!!! Harry Potter is a childish book with no realizational concept of magic. It has no epic story line, No true life threatening adventure. It's nothing more than a childs picture book, and what sickens me is that all you adults are reading this book. Its unfathomable for me to even concieve people reading a childish book that has no true storyline to it. Try reading the Riftwar saga or Shanara sometime those are real books with real ADULT adventure. Not this childish nonsense about little boys and how they go to wizard school.
Now in line with the item from this game called everquest, this is a nice little piece for shamans who do alch. I myself spent 300p for 7 skill points, 30 to 37, and this probably would have cut my costs done by helping me not fail so much! For some reason known only to themselves, the great gods of Everquest decided to give shamans something like a 50% fail rate on trival potions. Add that into the insane prices per attempt and you have why sow potions cost so much.
Now to go off topic. Harry Potter is nothing more then a well-written kiddie book. If you want good writing AND a solid adventure with real action, stop posting about a kiddie book and read some Dragonlance or if your really adventurious read some of the adventures of Drizzit (I don't have a book handy so I probably spelled that wrong, could be worse I guess I could try R.A's last name ;)).

People like Terry Brooks and Ray Feist just ripped him off. Oh, and by the way, ol' John Ronald Reuel did it way back in the '30's, when it wasn't hip or cool.
Dragonlance may not be classic literature, but it's not bad. Many of the elements Tolkien used in his books he borrowed from Germanic legends such as Beowulf. Saying that every fantasy author "ripped" Tolkien off is like saying that anyone who has written a spy story is ripping off James Finnemore Cooper. There are many good examples of current fantasy literature around. R.A. Salvatore's Dark Elf trilogy is a good example as is, Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth and Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series.

Yeah, sorry narfk. The Philosopher's Stone has been around long before JK Rowling. The myth is that since lead and gold are so closely related (only one proton apart), alchemists believed that there existed some compound that would porduce gold when mixed with lead. Alchemy was more of a philosophy than a science (hence Philosopher's Stone and not Alchemist's Stone) and they believed that this compound could only be created by one who was truly enlightened. Another perk of this stage of enlightenment was immortality. So the stone itself was not actually believed to grant everlasting life (although my roommate over my shoulder is telling me that it was supposed to be mixed with water to create the elixer of life, so maybe my info isn't entirely accurate). Although a villain only looking for an *** load of gold would hardly make a worth adversary for that little brittish fop of a wizard so I can see why JK Rowling added in that immortality part about the stone. And that's another ten minutes I didn't spend studying. Back to the books. later Oli
Your roommate is entirely correct, according to the myth it was supposed to create the elixir of life when mixed with water, which would then have to be re-dosed regularly (about once every 500-1000 years) to perpetuate the immortality effect. =)
As you can see, I have way too much time on my hands...

I can't see as many churches getting upset about 'philosophy' as they do about 'sorcery'." ...Look up Hypatia (sp) sometime, and you'll see the churches real attitude towards the original philosophers. she was a student of Pythagoras (sp) and went on to teach. Some priests caught her in the streets and denounced her as a heathen and blasphemer, killing her on the spot...and then dragging her body into the church where they then proceeded to mutilate the body with broken tiles from the church floor.. so before speaking of controversy between things such as "sorcerer" and "philosopher" you might want to do a bit of a history lesson. Events such as the crusades and the spanish inquisition stemmed from the same attitude people of the church had in those times that sealed Hypatia's fate.
Hi everyone! Wow i was amazed to see that the philosipher stone was in EQ... And NO mr. Potter, you are extraordinarly wrong about Verant copying Harry Potter. The stone is... well... supposedly real. Theres this weird site on the net called www.futurehorizons.net and they sell it! here is their description:
Philosophers Stone Also known as White-Powder-Gold or 'Mana' or the elixer of life. Discoverer David Hudson spoke in a lecture.."First of all it is a room temperature superconductor"! "When mixed with water it forms a gelatinous mixture. When ingested it has the following affects. Every cell in your body will be taken back to the state it is supposed to be, when you were a teenager or a child. It perfects the DNA, and closes the light within the body until you literally reach a point where the light body exceeds the physical body." "The gifts that go with this are perfect telepathy, you can know good and evil when it is in the room with you, you can project your thoughts into someone else's mind, you can levitate, you can walk on water, because it is flowing so much light in you, you literally don't attract to gravity."
So there you go. Thats why im not going to get a car, im just going to buy this "white gold powder" (probably cocaine) and fly to school. check out the site if you dont beleive me hehe and if your curious enough to order it tell me what it really is :-D

BTW im canadian and i read the book and its harry potter and the philosopher`s stone not sorcerer, plus i saw movie in English AND french and they always talk about the PHILOSOPHER:S STONE, even in the movie when Hermione shows harry and ron the book where she found out about Nicholas Flamel, we can easily see that its written in that book: Nicholas Flamel, the owner of the last philosopher`s stone... bla bla bla etc. SO GET BENT VERANT! You,re lucky J.K. Rowling isnt playing EQ cause she would be so pissed off to always have to download your FRICKIN patches that she would sue you about this item not cause she wants money but cause shes really pissed like all of us who HATE VERANT!
Instead of Counter-Flaming this one, let's just rate it to get this crap pulled off the forum.
If Narfk wants to act like a infant, let's remain adults and remove the problem not feed it.
I think it's very cool that they have items that enhance skills now. And I think that with this expansion they have done a fine job so far. Anyone that disagrees, go make your own game if you can do better. Leave the people that enjoy EQ alone.

The words "Philosopher's Stone" and an item being called a "Philosopher's Stone" are clearly "Public Domain".
From another person's post: "The Philosopher's Stone originated with the ancient practice of Alchemy. It was a magical substance (a catalyst, if you will) that could turn base metals into gold, cure all your ills, and allowed the person that held it to be immortal."
well spotted, didn't notice that till i read your post. possible 'val' isn't full name though, gets cut off sometime's on corpses (a gnoll comm's corpse for example instead of commander.)
Tradeskill modifiers do not stack. Consider the potential combo in smithing of Hammer of the Ironfrost (PRIMARY 15%) Massive Girdle of the Forge (WAIST 10%) Grandmaster Trophy (RANGE, SECONDARY, PRIMARY, AMMO 5%.) A 30% smithing mod would be quite the force, but alas, like Haste (worn) the superior skill comes out on top, this claim will be backed up with the new UI that shows your modified skill at the top of the tradeskill window.
Well, my group was killing stuff around the zone in from Scarlet Desert for a good hour or two and didn't see these drop once. We were mostly killing Dark Visions, so it might be a drop off another mob near the other zone in from Dawnshroud.
