#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 06 2002 at 11:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i don't know how much people would pay for NON MAGIC weapon, with NON guranteed +2 Des dmg, but just plain looking at stats I am rating the weapon for 125pp..150pp max...

Dude, Icedrake... do you need glasses or something? you must be either unbearably near sighted.... extremely far sighted.... or your screen resolution is so incredibly high, 12pt font looks like dots...

look.. at the picture... "magic item lore item"

"NON MAGIC"?? Since when... The ones I have on my mules are magical. Also, just some clarification on that "NON Guaranteed +2 disease dmg" - my rogue uses a Fungusbeast Spine which has the same dmg modifier. I can tell you from 33 levels of experience that the extra dmg you get from that small modifyer is very significant. Just ask anyone who has grouped with me and tried to pull mobs off me =~)

I'm not trying to down your opinion, but rather wanted to add my own.

Oh, and if you don't want them, vendors like them too...

I remember when I was a lowbie, it felt GREAT getting an item for cheap. Just because you arn't the level anymore doesnt mean you need to talk down to those who are.

Not a bad off hander for mid levels. If target fails disease check its a 9/24 instead of 7/24. Looks and sounds like a whip - way cool. I use it on my 36 rogue for now. When I get my hands on a SSOY and hit level 37 (when SSOY procs) I will pass it on to my bard or maybe sell it.

As of the patch earlier this week, this item can now be equipped.
TaskMaster
# Jan 11 2002 at 12:43 PM Rating: Decent
This guy can be easily taken with four people at or around 40. And as a Paladin I always like mobs I get to nuke. Have taken him 4 times and has always been an even con.

Well, I ran into this fella last night... or should I say, he ran into me. I was in a group near the entrance to Shadowhaven. The group was almost full, there was a 32 cleric, 35 monk, 2 36 mages and myself, 41 shaman. As I said we were near the SH zone, killing the underbulks and whatever else we could pull when this fella got trained on us. Cleric got off two heals on the monk and that was it... then we were looting the Taskmaster... he went down easy, almost too easy. This was the second time I had seen him and the second time he conned yellow to me, though the first time I was level 40, so his level must be around 42ish. My poison DoT took no problem as did my Togor's and I didn't hear any complaints coming from the mages, so this guy is definately very susceptible(sp?) to magic. He didn't have the fiber but rather had the crystal (+10 hp +10 mana I think) and some other items that looked like possible quest items.
Taskmaster

Me (level 47 Barb warrior) and a 51 paladin took the entire taskmaster camp. So a high 40 pair and take and keep this camp. This included all the pops outside the main taskmaster room. BTW the respawn on the outside NPC's is 18 mins. Apparently Fireclaw can pop at anyone of those except Taskmaster himself. For Fireclaw I just throw up my frost covered tome (range +15 fire Resists) and I seem ok. BTW No way taskmaster is a 37 LOL.

I have the fiber too and cant equip it. I reported it as a bug as well.

Cytogen (48 warrior now :) )
Equipable.

picked this up on my ranger, first look at it, thought it was pretty bad, then i saw the disease damage, 9 24 isn't so bad... if it could be equiped. (no slot is stated)
I've Bugged it, talked to two GMs (both of which didn't know anything about it) and was told to write the staff and ask if its supposed to be unequipable, and if it is a bug, to fix it asap. So far i've just gotten an "acknowledgement" that my mail was recieved (give them some time, they're swamped)

This guy is a wimp. Any spells can be landed on him.

Was hunting with guildies, saw this snake looking thingy surrounded by skellies. The ranger harmonize the whole camp. No one in the group want the whip, so me (a shaman) is stuck with it :p

I was hunting him the other night with a 49 SK and me a 45 necro dident take to long to bring him down but the only thing I could hit him with was life taps he resisted all my poison and disease spells.

Not sure if you knew what was going on in your group or no (casters don't pay attenion to the battle going on all around them for the most part... I know my druid didn't)But anyway, SOME of your post is true. All spells can be landed on him (unlike other named spawns in the zone which can't be snared or feared) although the rest is not true. One, because this guy can be pulled single without harmony. Two, harmony doesn't work indoors. But anyway... the taskmaster camp is a great spot, he is a bit of an undercon, hits in the 100's but the camp is good exp with no faction hit (even from the non-kos skellitons) I got to level 51 from this camp in a day with the help of a 56 ranger =). Anyway, this post is really long... just thought I would let you all know!

How to equip? Quest-related item?
# Dec 14 2001 at 5:41 PM Rating: Decent
My main question is how do you equip this thing? I picked it up last weekend and can't equip it. Take a look....no place to put it. No Primary, No secondary, No Range....No nothing. Absent an oversight by Verant (never happen....), I've got to believe this thing is a quest-related item of some sort. If not it's totally useless in it's current state, non-equippable.

Fiber
# Dec 14 2001 at 4:02 PM Rating: Good
I got this off of Taskmaster Torkazah twice (though its lore, I couldnt loot one of them) The Taskmaster was blue to 55, and had about 3000 HP. He looks like a big Cobra and is surrounded by undead mobs (though they cannot see invis). Taskmaster is very resistant to fire, I casted Scoraie (688 DD fire based) and it never did more than 180 damage (casted 3 times). He has a low resistance to magic, as both snare and root held, though even snared, he runs, or slithers rather quickly. His melee damage was 105, and my AC is 729, he was hitting 105's more than anything lower, so he could be tough for a melee group in the mid 40's. This wep is actually pretty decent as the damage/delay with damage bounus against disease is pretty good. The way the damage bonus has been explained is that it checks against the disease resistance thereby affecting low disease resistant mobs (or players) and the damage increases....meaning against low disease resistant mobs/players this would actually hit for 9 damage with 24 delay. Happy hunting!

I think you're slightly out of touch as to the AC of your average level 40's tank.

My Paladin, at level 42, has a self-buffed AC of 848... and that's without a shield! (normally start battles with 2h-practice sword.)

A solid group in their 40's should be able to take this guy, especially if he's got low magic resistance. (Paladin chain-stunning is a wonderful thing.)
