Is this the first?

This is the first hand to hand weapon I've noticed. Is this the first hand to hand weapon? Or were there some Pre-Luclin?

Luclin added the option for Hand to Hand weapons. This weapon shares the same stats as the other Beastlord quest claws for other races (All have them). I also found a claw in Blackburrow today, was like 4/29, HtH skill, Mnk and Bst only...Thing had like 6 or 8 weight, which is pretty combersome for a Monk or Beastmaster.

I have yet to find ANYTHING in Cabilis for Iksar Beastlords, other than the guildmaster (and ONLY trainer) and two spell merchants, none of whom respond to hails. If there are quests in Cabilis for Iksar Beastlords, I haven't found any. :(

On a related note, I would like to point out that Iksar Beastlords get screwed out of more than just quests. Firstly, they have a total of 3 NPCs in town for their class: the guildmaster, and two spell merchants. Secondly, unless you twink them, they have basically ZERO opportunity to upgrade their weapons: Kunark skeletons simply DO NOT drop piercing weapons, one handed blunt weapons, or two handed blunt weapons. All they drop are those stupid Kunark swords, which beastlords can't use. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places, or there's something I missed, but so far, it seems to me that Iksar Beastlords have almost ZERO content for them near their city (which happens to be the ONLY city on their entire continent where they can go).

Don't just limit yourself to the two halves of Cabilis proper, either. Hunt around the outposts of all four corners of town-- you may find some quests from the NPC's out there, and find some other monsters that may drop decent enough stuff to replace your starter weapon.... I know when my Shaman started there, the Goblins near town in the Lake of Ill Omen did pretty well, and often dropped Shortened Spears or Fishing Spears or some such.... *shrug* Exploring is the name of the game... Irritating to re-explore the same zones over and over looking for the new changes sometimes, though, I admit....

Stick with it my friend. Iksars seem to simply get their stuff later... only to have it outdo everything else. Seriously, Iksar ShadowKnights put up with a lot of guff... then DreadScale came... soon enough, Greenmist Armor... and finally... our own mini-epic... the Greenmist: The Unholy Khukri of Rile.

I wouldn't be surprised if Iksar Beastlords start receiving some nice items in the future... and if you stick it out, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly rewarded.... besides, why would Verant give all the players everything now... in a week, half the beastlords are gonna give up and go back to their mains anyway...

If you hail your guildmaster in Cab he gives you a series of quests. They seem a lot harder than the troll and ogre ones which seem to be doable around level 6. Whereas the Patrician Claw quest involves killing level 8-10 mobs.

The next quest after that involves going into the swamp of no hope and killing mobs near the froglok fort. Nasty...

The Froggies can be killed at the left end of the road outta Cab in Swamp of No Hope, 20-24ish in level. (just an FYI)
