At level 45 this gives me the capability to use Greater Wolf form which i can only get until level 59.
This proc is a major boost to your performance and safety as a ranger between level 45 and 58. If things are going downhill you can out run anything. hehe

Why would it not stack with haste, ot increases MOVEMENT speed, like SoW, not attack speed, like haste

I just bought mine for 1,000pp in the bazaar on Rodcet Nife. I was searching for a piecer weapon to raise my percing. Lo and behold, I saw it for 1k.
One level from 45, cant wait!

I have am only lvl 30 at it procs i only paid 2500 for mine i think it was a good a good buy i think.

Just reached 45th level and Lupine dagger immediatly procced greater wolf form. Procs against any level mobs. Greater wolf form fell off during one fight only to be reestablished immediatly by the weapon proccing again.
My attack damage increases significantly while in greater wolf form, not to mention the running speed increase.
This in primany hand and my LSoEE in my off hand equals super fast damage.

Ok I have realized after speaking with many people, that I must be the luckiest Ranger in EQ. I was in the Oasis lastnight fighting specs, when our party got wiped out by a bad pull. A group member got a lvl 54 Cleric to rezz us all and after chatting with her for a few she asked what our classes were, I told her Ranger, and she said "Oh well maybe you can use this" and hands over a Lupine Dagger. She was initially going to just give it to me, but I asked her how much she was selling it for, having NO IDEA what it was worth, and she said whatever you wanna give me....soooo I had 9pp on me at the time, she said we had a deal. So I got my Lupine Dagger for 9pp from the kindest Cleric out there! NOW I just cannot wait for it to proc!! Gotta get my Piercing skill up there in the mean time.

This definately does not proc at 40. I am at 42 and it does not proc for me. I get the "your will is not sufficient to command this weapon" message. I asked the auction channel and immediately got three responses that it procs at 45.

I have a Warblade of the Fallen ( 10/19 AWESOME STATS drops in Umbral) in primary and a lupine dagger in sec. OMG this combo rocks! I hit SO fast wit SCHW and Duel Wield so much! And i traded a lammy for Dagger so i am very happy. Id like to know when it procs if anyone knows.

I am a 45 Shaman on Tarew Marr. I picked this bad boy up the other night while grouped with 4 Monks and a Cleric. With 4 monks we (they) were pretty much owning the zone. Anway here's how the night started...After about 10 or so pulls the Capt. comes running down the lane. We just finished off a mob and were ready to go. We didn't know who pulled it, but we didn't care. The Monks pretty much owned him with some help from the Cleric =). Soon as we keeled him this Pally comes running by and asks for a res for his friend who pulled him and got owned in 5 seconds. We did a rand 1000 for the dagger and needless to say I won (773). The guy who looted it when LD and everyone thought that he wasn't going to come back and give it to me. I was a bit disappointed, but since it was Ranger only I wasn't crushed like a Ranger would have been. About two minutes later to everyone's surprise this guy logs back on and gives me the dagger =). The rest of the night we explored the zone and were about to camp the WL but it was getting late and I told them that I needed to log. So since I'm a Shaman without an alt Ranger and have no close nit Ranger friends =( I am selling this prized weapon.

I think what people fail to see is that this procs GREATER WOLF FORM, not wolf form, a lvl 56 ranger spell.....so the proc is a great buff for many stats!

Well, I don't know about A-Ro, but since these go for 4-5k on Drinal, and Lammy's go for 2-3k, i would say he actually got a decent deal. If you don;t need the 6sta on the lammy to break 101, you're going to be doing a lot better off with the lupine...

- dex and wis (2 of those stats that we rangers love)
- 6str on lammy = 6atk

ok ok so I'm not an ogre but I am a halfbreed lol. I bought this yesterday for 4k on the nameless and used it all day today. I just put it in main hand till it procs then put my Longsword of etheral energy back in hand and hack away. They affect lasted almost two whole hours which is sweet and it always proc'd on the first fight after equiping it. So get one if you can it is sweet.

Can the proc be clicked off? I am looking to get one for the dam/dly alone, but need the proc can get ya killed hunting in Velious or Luclin if you are not careful.

Best Weapon Ever for a ranger. Ive got got Lupine in main lammy in offhand and FBSS for kicks. It hits really fast and proc adds a lot to attack. ITS SO AWESOME.

You do realize of course that with the low delay of these weapons, that the measly 21% haste of the FBSS goes completely unnoticed, and that you would be doin' yourself a favor to trash it and get a better waste item?

What?! 21 percent haste means you hit 21 percent faster no matter how fast/slow delay your weapons have. Meaning 21 percent more hits, and therefore more damage. If you cant notice the difference you can just trust it will be there.

In the stats box above it says it procs at Lvl 40... it doesn't :( Just hit 40 tonight and thought it would be procing .. but nope doesn't till 45 .. need to change the stats box I guess. BTW it hits fast and great still love it even without the proc:)

I bought one last night for 6k on Quellious. Nice weapon. I'll never need to taunt again. Our Guild Cleric Leilah is going to have a heart attack trying to heal me.....or rez me! I use it and a dragon horn yak at least until I can get a Flamesong. But als now i'm broke so its of to Rathe to pillage some hg's.

When I turned 39 I heard about this dagger and got upset that my piercing was like 2 yes 2. So i bought a Dragon Horn YAK 8/23 and when I grouped in DL I put it in my secondary and low and behold my piercing after about 2 hours RL playing time went up to 105 and the YAK was procing 2 times a fight on average with 120 DEX. The next day I logged onto my mule in EC and found a Wizzard who looted it in KC and paid around 8K for it in cash and trades. I got him to TL me to DL and put the thing to work in my primary hand and in less than 1 hour RL my piercing was at 200 no kidding. I to this day still fell like I got a great deal, as my bonus is 5. Currently I am LVL 43 and am playing feverishly to hit 45 (never looked so forward to a hell level in all my life LOL.)
Moral: If your piercing sucks dont worry about it put a fast weapon in the off hand and watch the "You have increased your skill in Piercing (X)". I am currently using a smoldering brand in my secondary and now my 1hb is at 101 and it procs around 3 to 4 times a fight.
Dual wield really is a plus more than I ever realized.

IMO the Lupine...rocks.

I have owned once since I got the drop in KC, in the late 40s, and will never get rid of it. When a way better replacement weap comes my way, ( Crossing fingers for Defiance :P ) I will simply wait for the GWF proc, which is very often, then toss it in my inventory trunk, with the other goodies I alternate with. I will never let my lupine go...just grew to damn fond of it lol. Anyways, great ranger weapon, without a doubt.

First off, the Lupine Dagger *is* better than a Lamentation. Although the Lamentation has slightly better stats (Dex and Wis are still nice for a Ranger), the Lupine has both a better ratio AND a lower delay...
.. which means that the damage bonus you get as you level up from 28+ is more effective on the Lupe than it is on the Lammy for your primary hand. :P Do the math!

Damage bonus doesn't get added to the damage of the weapon. It's merely a +amount per damage hit. So, a 9/19 weapon is still a 9/19 weapon. However, every time you hit with your main hand, you will get the regular damage + damage bonus.
If you don't believe me, compare you min/max hit for a weapon when in mainhand as opposed to offhand.
