I went in Camo'd to get past all of the Fleshrenders and all the way up to the named. I decided to go for it since I could always just run for the zone if I got down to a bubble of health. Went up to the named camoflauged, then feared him. He started running away full speed, and I camo'd back up and went out to the long tunnel leading to the cave entrance. The fear wore off and back comes the named. This time I snared the beast feared then whacked him down. Had the repeat the fear now and then. Simple as pie for a level 41 ranger. Didnt use much mana and only lost a bubble or two of health. Didnt need to clear the cave first. And I was lucky because he dropped the Preserved Owlbear Eye on first attempt.

Was able to take out all of the cave in a slow steady fashion all the way to the named cats last night with myself a 36 warrior at the time and a lvl 30 druid on the prexus server. We managed to get 2 owlbear earings and 1 eye and about 10 perfect pelts or so in about 5 hours of camping his spawn time is much slower then it was in the past. The named cat can be takin down with 2 people in group if you take things slowy and not get in over your head. Once the rooms are cleared just hang out in the center of the 2 dead end rooms clearing it out as it as it pops.

I got this item by accident last night at the owlbear caves. Me (44 Ranger) and my buddy (44Monk) were looking for perfect pelts pulling everything in the cave. Pulled so quick didnt even realize the mob was named until my buddy mentioned it halfway through the fight. Was Lt. Blu to us and wnet down easy as pie. Looted this eye cause my monk buddy said he had no use for it and my alt necro could use it. I had no idea it was worth more than 200-300pp! Is this price on 1 to 2K right? I guess i will see today at EC. If it sells for that i will just sell and split the cash with buddy. He figured it wasnt worth much either.

The Eye, the Elder Wolf Hide, and other Hollowshade drops are worth more than that after the patch/war/nerf in the zone. Cha no longer spawn every 20 mins like he used to so his items are no longer common.

I can't belive that this is selling for less than the medicine totem. The mana and resists makes this just a little worse than the Seal of Thoridain. Either the price on the Eye is going to go up soon, or the market for the Totem is going to drop soon.

I know the Average Prives liste is always a bit inacurate, so I waswondering if anyone know what this item is sold for on Zeberoux server ???
Killed Cha 3 times so far. Had a bad bit of luck last night and went 3 hours with nothing but placeholders.

would a lvl 50 sk handle this owlbear?
Easily, just make sure you have fear and/or FD memmed if things go badly...pull with Darkness to the empty part of the cave and just beat him down. He can hit hard so don't try it unless FM and FH.
At that level, you can fight him pretty much where he is. Go to the back of the little cave where he pops so that you're behind him and to his left. Pull to there and make sure he dies at that spot. The other two mobs in his little cave won't assist him when you pull due to your high level, and they won't aggro on you there, but they will if you move very far from that spot.
Okay I got this item tonight. It dropped off of Skrietat`Cha, he is a named owlbear in Hollowshade in the owlbear caves. He spawned in the back, but spawned in different spots each time we killed him(3 times total, also dropping the Elder Owlbear Beak, and the Owlbear Claw Earring). He was blue to me at 36(paladin) and blue to my partner 39(druid). He hit pretty hard, harder then the other owlbears, he didn't resist and debuffs, dots, stuns, roots, or snare. Hope that info helps anyone wanting this great item, I'm gonna get one more for my druid. =0)

Awsome haste but great nuker stats too, however no one in their right mind would let a nuker roll on it unless the tanks in the guild already have it or better.
Last time I was there with my 48 druid, I was just looking around the cave and of couse everything show up green on track but then I was argo on by one of these owlbear, no biggie I though cause it was green to me so I snared and start kiting it. Little that I know THESE THING SUMMOMS at there lvl.. Ended up having to DD it up close and personal.

I generally wouldn't go out on a limb like this, but I don't believe the lesser, named owlbears Skriet'Chu and 'Cha, nor the lesser, named wolves Wolfkin xxx, summon. I have killed all the lesser, named mobs dozens of times and have not been summoned once by them. The only mobs that have ever summoned me are the sonic wolf guardians outside the wolf cave. If I'm wrong, my apologies in advance :)
That drops this item (rare drop off him) is level 32. Has less then 1300 hp.

False, the named mob that drops this has about 2100 hp I'd guess... one ice comet (1120dmg) took him down to just below half life and the second IC killed him.

Ok folks here it is: When I got this item it was from a named Owlbear, but NOT Prince Skrietat. This came from a mob (I'm guessing higher level than the Prince due to it having more hp) named Skrietat'Kha or something of that nature. All one word, no other title. He spawned in the back room of the owlbear cave. Good luck to ye. I'm sure killing those Owlbear Fleshrenderers will get this guy to spawn as he was right in the thick of them.
PS - I gave this to my best friend because 1) He got more use from it than I did, and 2) I wanted to replace it with the Brain of the Beaked Bear (which I eventually did).

i thought hollowshade was a low level zone outside of shar val.. isn't 45 a bit high of a level to attain this item? which mob drops this? looks great for my druid or any caster class tho

With a good group of 32-35 you can easily get this item (1 tank, 1 healer, 1 enchanter, perhaps a hybrid...). They set each item at 45 to attain by default, as they don't have time to run out and track down each uncommon spawn to attempt to take it down with each level character to find the correct level to attain it. I (40 monk) and my bud (37 SK) can easily take this guy out. To solo this guy, I wouldn't try it (depending on what class you are) below 40 or 45.

I'm not sure if you're actually fishing for responses of this nature, but the information was just entered wrong. If you examine the picture, it has a weight of 1.5.
I'm assuming the comments your were waiting for are a discussion on exactly what class would most benefit from this item. I, as an SK, would love this item in my range slot. It has AC, MR, INT and mana. Nuts to the wis. =P
But if you can cook up a reason why YOU'D want it, then it would be good for your class.
