why do they bother to make garbage like this SHD usable? Just a thought...

Bards get gypped by the tough snare mobs too; more so because our snare is also our slow and we rely on that to not get creamed when we melee. I can take hill giants all day fear kiting them or even tanking some down but this little green bug was a real pain I'm just happy for the long duration selo's.
Price of Gore Covered Horn?

What is the selling price for one of these weapons? That's what I want to know.
pally piercer
# Jan 05 2002 at 8:12 PM Rating: Decent
If you want to practice piercing as a pally, no need to kill this bastid, just go to cc and one of the lame named spiders in queen area drops something with similar stats as this and looks like a katar, not quite as fast, like 27 delay or somethin, but its probably easier to get, considering how underconned this guy is.
Wow, I'm glad I got the mask instead of this thing...

The other night, I killed Gorehorn with my level 44 ranger. He was light blue to me. Very tough fight; it took a few tries to get snare to stick on him, and he was hitting very hard in melee, but he missed often enough that I could do some good damage before retreating. When he got me low on health, I decided to fall back to a bow-kite... but he was invulnerable to my arrows! I had to heal up, and throw on some thorns, then jump back into melee to finally finish him off. I spent nearly all of my mana during the fight, and ended up with maybe 1.5 bubbles of health left. For my troubles, he had a beetle carapace of some kind, and the Horned Beetle Mask. Maybe the mask is his rare or uncommon drop, and this is his common, but I certainly would consider this weapon a poor reward for the risk and effort involved in killing this bug, group or solo.

I have killed him 5 times...mask on every drop. After all my alts/twinks got one, i made a noobi very happy. BTW, i have to pet tank it...gore resists my dark line 90% of the time and fear >50%. My level 49 pet with buff can tank him and will loose about 40-50% health.

Seems like verant is tired of druids kiting things everyplace. Most of the mobs in sol..even the greens will resist snare. Root sticks a little better. This guy took 2 drifting deaths and a firestrike to die, so around 1k hp. I've also noticed that random mobs will give you the msg that they are immune to movement spells. Anti-Quad code I would think. I've also encountered mobs that were immune to harmony. <shrug> Guess it's cool for a necro to solo anyplace they go...not so cool for druids anymore. All you druid haters should cheer for sol, we took a beating on this expansion.

I parsed the fight with Gorehorn and found that I did 1726 damage in 119 seconds, and took 1203 damage on my 38 Warrior with 843 AC in the fight while doing 14.5 damage per second. If Gorehorn only has 1 k hit points, he has some serious regeneration (I guess Verant is twinking their named mobs with Fugni Tunics now).

You seem to forget, we necros are also dependent on our snare line for soloing - if we choose to fear kite. I tried 3 times to sick a dark on this guy, didnt work. He also resisted fear 50% of the time. Pet plus a heal took him down though.

I have noticed the increase in snare resists myself. Not just in SoL but in the old world also. I have been seeing consistent 30% resists from blue mobs in OT since the release. Tried to snare one berzerker 10 times and it never took. If you cant solo a druid there will be a whole lot less of them from now on thats for sure.
RE: Re:

plus the fact that a good variety of SoL mobs move at speeds comparible to jboots and all the way to sow, even though the MOBs aren't druids or shaman...or casters at all even.

DAMN RIGHT he is an undercon. This is one mean SOB. I saw him last night take out 53 mages pet in a few hits..... and imagine me on my 25 mage standing there looking at this little named Rhino Beetle slaying everything at the tunn entance to Shar Vahl (excluding the guards) in just a couple hits. Got my pet in 3 hits and he had some hefty 55 plus druid and shaman spells on him.

I will be getting that horn, not out of need, but payback.. spent good plat getting that pet buffed! :()

No, it is not that good of a weapon.

Check out the Netherbian Unguis.
Dmg 8 Dly 25, a few minor stats.
Easy to get for a pair of ~30's in Netherbian Lair, possible even solo.
Put my Bloodstained Fang to shame.

Also it's Primary or Secondary, makes it even more useful.

Well, for most people eligible to use it, it doesn't seem too terribly useful. HOWEVER, it is a Pally useable piercer with low delay. I'd get this to practice up my pierce skill, just for those days I feel saucy and want to use my MoTQ...

Yep, undercon for sure. I was looking around in there and saw a named beetle running around. Blue to me at 37 and he resisted everything I threw at him. I tried to snare him 10 times and got resisted everytime. Careful if you decide to mess with this one.

I went at this guy with a 46 necro and I was a 30 necro... He resisted both of our snares and killed the 46 necro's pet... We didnt go after him starting with full mana but quite close and the 46 necro ended up running aroung keeping agro while I kept behind it peircing it with my stilletto of the bloodclaw until my allur gave me enough mana to nuke for 160 damage barely killing it... I dont know his spawn time or howhe spawns but he is seriously underconned..
