Does thos still drop?

This is listed as dropping off the goranga gatherers and hunters, which I solo all the time. I have never seen this or that 38/49 hammer drop off of either of them. Is it just super rare or has it been moved to a different mob. I hunt wandering gorangas near the 5 spawn tree and near DSP--are there other goranga camps in the zone where this drops? Please post, I really would like to get that 38/49 hammer for my shaman (I collect weapons ).

I just had one of these drop from 'a goranga battlemaster' somewhat near the Akheva Ruins entrance.

Who ever looted this is above lvl 56. I have the Same hammer and my Damage bonus is only 10 on it as a 56 Monk.

Confused about DMG bonus
# Dec 08 2001 at 9:47 PM Rating: Decent
Im still in the dark here, is the dmg bonus added to the dmg of the weapon as you go up in lvl and weapon skill? So in theory this is a 20/20 weapon if you add the dmg bonus of 11? Any info would be apprieciated.
RE: Confused about DMG bonus

The way I understand it ... the damage bonus is added to the actual damage. (ex: Jade Mace [9/19] basically will do 9 damage on it's own and your damage bonus is added to that 9). Does not make the ratio any better, it just adds to the damage you do with the weapon each time you swing it.

Also, please do remember that these pics are submitted by people of varying levels. Your damage bonus goes up with your level, so the bonuses shown in these pictures are not necessarily the damage bonuses you will see when YOU equip it. The only way to see the real damage bonus of a weapon is to give it to a char that has not reached the level that they have been granted any bonuses of their own to add to the weapon's. Then you will see the true bonus the weapon gives.

Hope that helped and didn't just confuse ya more :)

ok here's how i understand dmg bonus....on a wpn like this lets say you max possible hit would be 30 so you can hit from anywhere from 0(miss) to 30 depending on your skill and whatnot the chances of you hitting for more increases....well with a dmg bonus of 10 you could hit from 0(miss)-40 this does not only give you a greater max dmg but also decreases the amount of times you will hit for 0(miss) by increasing the random numbers you can hit....ty

please don't flame ..this is as much sense as i can get out of this system and it seems to be working for my bst so far

i'm not sure how the dmg bonus acutaly works. It is not a flat out add on to your damage as I'm a level 57 pal and I hit for 1dmg the other day using a str of grodan. I think my dmg bonus is somewhere between 20 and 30.

However i think that 1dmg hit was on a riposte. So maybe it is add on to you regular dmg but no riposte.

All weapons have a damage bonus based on the level (and class?) of the wielder, 2-handers get a bonus damage bonus based on their speed. For example my troll warrior has a damage bonus of 3 with any 1 handed weapon, with a palladium axe (20/38)that gets bumped up to 4, with a weighted axe (45/150) it's something like 19. Don't quote me on the numbers but it shows what happens with damage bonus from 1HS to 2HS (and blunt) and the effects of level.
I also believe that damage bonus only applies to weapons equipped in the primary hand. This can be observed by watching what your minimum damage is with 2 different type of weapons equipped, for example a slasher (main) and a piercer (offhand).
Using my warrior listed above you'll hit for a minimum of 4 with the slasher, but still get an occasional 1 with the piercer. Since the changes to damage bonus were made I haven't tested this, but it did hold true before damage bonus was a displayed number.

Now, what level might you be? i'm guessing 35 or 36 because my dmg bonus happens to be the same, but it may differ for ranger and warrior, so you could be a much lower level. Level would definately help if you're trying to explain, and the thing about the offhand dmg bonus is right according to my knowledge.

All weapons have a dmg bonus after you get to a sertain point in your skill advancement. The person that sent in the pic is around 52 i would say because his dmg bonus is 11 and that is what my SK has right now at lvl 52. So to answer your question the dmg bonus of a weapon is dependant on how much skill you have in useing that weapon type.

It's not that the weapon itself has a bonus. It's the user that gets a bonus when using that weapon. It's relative to the users skill and level with 1 handers. With 2 handers, it relates to level and skill, as well as the delay of the weapon being used. Thus a fast 2 hander will give you a smaller bonus than a slower 2 hander, all other things being equal. The higher your skill and level, the bigger the bonus.

So a level 60 with 252 skill is going to have a bigger bonus than a level 40 with 200 skill. And if you are under 29 I think or you are a non-melee class, you won't have any bonus at all.

Damage bonus is nothing new, it's always been there. Now we can just see it and it's confusing a lot of people who weren't up on things. The damage bonus listed in the picture is going to be different for everyone. That is the reason that it's not listed in the text stats above the picture.
Hmmm.

A 1h blunt with a dmg bonus. Any pally or sk opinions out there? I thought that dmg bonus was a stop-gap measure to remove the "penalty" of having a 2h weapon.
