Routinely find these for 50 to 100 plat in the bazaar nowadays, making it a great little twink weapon. Easily good enough to carry you to your late 40s when you can start getting into much better weapons with req/rec levels
Its the best thing i could find in the baz on rodcet nife for under 1k. actually cost me 450 which is cheaper than some of the weapons out there that arent as good (imo at least). i actually wanted something a little faster... but i guess it'll do for my buddies lvl 1 paladin. endurance isnt really an issue since he'll have a lvl 52 shaman in his pocket for heals/buffs/invigor. be the first time i actually use invigor *chuckle*
I bought one for 50 plat on Veeshan, a month or so ago; made a nice weapon for my warrior twink. Then, I recently gave it to a friend who started playing, who was quite happy with it until he recently got his Ghoulbane.
Sure it's not "uber", but so what? It's a nice weapon for your lowby alt =)
unless you don't care what your weapon looks like i do not suggest getting this weapon, it looks crappy, it looks like a rusty axe, just a plain stick and dull stone stuck on the top
Well I've just swapped out my fantastic looking Zraxthril Forged Axe (10/31 STR+2 WIS+1 HP+5 MANA+5) for this.
It looks like crap, doesn't have the HP/MANA/STR bonus.
BUT +5AC and at least 6DMG extra per hit, plus more hits from lower delay = I take less damage in combat while dishing out the same = Less Mana Drain on Healers = What It's All About.
Until I get a Centi LS or a Wurmy this stays in my Primary accompanying my Centi SS.
so you are telling me that you would rather have a Validus Custodus Battle Axe (8/30) than this you are crazy. Even though it is considered the coolest looking weap the stats just cant cut it. But as far as being in trader mode at the bazaar ill let my alt feel cool.
i would rather group with someone with an effective weapon than a pretty one ;) if this was an upgrade for my tank i would use it, after all the ceremonial wedding sword looks nice..so if looks matter that much to you why not tank with that ;)
I'm looking to buy one of these axes on 7th hammer. If you have one you want to sell send me a tell some time. I play almost every night from 11:30pm est until about 10:00am est. You can also send me an email @ tomluc_bellis@hotmail.com
the 100 sta mark is most important for all meleers... when i was a wee 35 rogue at the time of kunarks release, i scored a gunthak harpoon (15dam 33delay nodrop wt20 yes 20, not 2.0) with my stamina being 86 i was forced to put a crude stein in my offhand instead of another weapon due to the speed decrease when stamina drained.
Boy did that sucker hit hard for the week before it became norent! (epic damage at 35 was sweet)
Dropped last night in The Grey. Mob was a Shimmering Rockfiend.... named Boulder. Was 52-55 (blue at 56, but couldnt stick bard charm which caps out at 51).
Mob spawned from a trap I triggered while pulling. "A creature of living stone appears at your feet and attacks!". Trap spawned Boulder and 1 boulder fiend. Wasnt a terrible fight, but he jumps anyone who sits even for a sec. Had him attacking other people who weren't in our group, hadn't done any damage, and were medding far enough away they should have been safe. Didn't matter tho, if he saw you sitting he ran after. Took him with 4 people (56 bard, 58 cleric, 58 pally, 53 druid). Hits in 180s.
Edit: I'm not sure, but I thought this thing also had a +1 Undead Bane effect. Will check later and post.
Just to clarify, to high lvl tanks, MOST IMPORTANT is AC, the HP, then STA and resists, after that it doesnt really matter. GJA and this weapon are crap if you can get a combo like Lammy/FB or if you a Ranger Lupine and FB.
Just some of my insight and knoledge laid bare for you to tear to pieces.
Sarith Silverwolf 51 Ranger of Tunare Platinum Dragons, Fenin Ro
Why is it people like you feel you have to bad mouth every weapon in the game if it isnt over 1k or something? Not everyone is rich twinked or ebayed you know, and this is a VERY nice weapon until you can upgrade to a centi LS or whatever. Compared to others I'm sure it IS crap, but when you cant get a hold of something else, this shines.

Posted:Feb 22 2003 at 1:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) FB's are lame for tanks who wield them with low dex to proc em, most warriors who think oh i have a FB i will be able to hold aggro, to bad they will lose aggro to a moss snake =\, I for one use a 8/19 +2 magick dmg weapon an a 9/19 with +2 poison dmg on it both add str/sta an hp + ac. i get +5 ac from one +10 from another a total of 12str and 10sta with +40hp, i was stealing aggro from a tanking using a windblade, i wasn't using taunt either.its not the real value of a weapon its the effectiveness of it.....
Probably around the same price as a Centi Shortsword. It does slightly more damage and adds AC, but doesn't have Str or Sta on it. Matter of preferrence I'd guess.
Despite the sta penalty, wouldnt the green jade axe be better this(mind you this is far from bad), but with the 10str and large poison and disease resist, the GJA is a rather brutal weapon with the str to aid it. The ac on this may be it's saving grace in the face of truelly uber weapons as ac is somewhat currently limited on weapons. Particaualry ones with this kind of dps. A solid weapon(nothing to scoff at), but still much better out there at this level.

Just to point out, he was talking the STA penalty on the GJA.. this weap doesn't have a STA penalty..
also.. IMO.. STA is more important at lower levels (for the extra HP) than at the higher..
In higher levels, there are excellent STA buffs.. the main thing to consider is to make sure that your STA is over 100.. most times as long as your STA is over 100 you don't take serious drain when in combat (learned about that weilding a Wurmslayer)..
I am not sure that a stamina over 100 wielding one of these keeps you thwacking throughout the fight. I have one of these and a Centi SS (use this in the off hand). Fighting two blues at once my stamina bar drops to almost one bub before the fight is over. I can't remember my unbuffed sta but I think it's like 145 (including all my item bonuses but not spells). Not sure any weapon swinging as much as I do in a two blue fight wouldn't drop your stamina bar fast. My 2cp.
Even though the stamina bar drops, if you're stamina is over 100 you don't slow down. Have tested this many times with my warrior. Even with absolutely nothing showing on the yellow bar for several minutes, the damage per second never changed.
Oh, forgot to mention. Bought one of these axes last night for 750 in DL. This thing rocks. Love the ratio and the AC. It's perfect for the offhand if you are fairly poor like me and can't afford a FB.
