Spork!
# Jul 16 2002 at 8:23 PM Rating: Decent
bought this thing from a guy in ec who was desperate for money for only 2.5k. My lvl 41 ranger uses it and kicks azz. I dueled a a warrior 3 lvls higher than me, and I won. He was using centi ls and i think a centi ss. so far my max hit has been 126 using this. I wish VI explained things better like bane damage. how does the +4 bane against plants come in, and exactly what mobs will this work on? I'm workin on getting a fbss which, if my math is right, should make the delay for this about 35. 33/35 isn't a bad thing, but I'd have to say the best thing about this is that it looks like a spork. my quote when you inspect me says "I am the ranger who weilds a giant spork... I fear you have met your end."

+4 bane plant damage makes the damage of the weapon against plants go up by 4, so it would be a 37 dmg 44 dly weapon vs plants, plants are like fungus mushrooms, succulents, etc. and as for the fbss, hastes dont work like that, fbss is 22% haste i beleive, the formula is: haste# divided by 100 plus one (witch comes out to 1.22 in this case) then divide the dly into that and you answer is the hasted weapons delay (witch is 36.06)
RE: Spork!
# Mar 03 2004 at 10:04 AM Rating: Default
You're making haste way too complicated. Haste just takes it's percentage out of weapon delay. E.g. --(Weapon delay) - (22% haste (.22) x (weapon delay)). Easy as that.
RE: Spork!
# Dec 27 2004 at 3:05 PM Rating: Default
Soooo what you are saying is a 100 delay weapon (Weapon delay) - ((100% Haste (1.00) (worn and music no over haste)x (100 Weapon delay)) is the formula? so lets see 100% haste equals 1.0x100 = wow 100..

hmm 100 - 100 ?? wow Zero Delay sweet (umm wait that is not possible huh where did he go wrong oh yeah opened his mouth)

Haste Percentage is the Increase in Rate of Attack, NOT the Decrease in Delay. To calculate Delay use: Delay/(1+Haste) = Hasted Delay

go here if you do not believe me http://cloud.prohosting.com/~talone/HasteData.htm#examples is a great site and has most every haste question answered..

I just traded the Tarmok Battlestaff for a Zealots Incarnadine Sword. At first I thought it was a mistake, even though I use my monk more than my warrior. At lvl 37 my monk is kicking *** with this thing. The delay is a little high, but with FBSS it throws it down to around 33 so its not too bad, might be a little off on the dealy thing :) I'm nailing mobs for around 70 to 80 on average, and maxed hit for 120 so far. I HIGHLY recommend this for any mid lvl monk. as far as having it when uber, Ill let you know :)

I just recently bought one of these for 1.3k (normally goes for at least 2k, but the seller was a very nice person). An outstanding weapon. The first time I crushed the Reishicyben for over 100dmg it put a grin on my face a mile wide. Even though my skill in 2HB laged behind 1HB by 17 points I was doing more damage than I did with my dual CoTs right off the bat. The low delay really helps keep the mobs off of me in group situations, and the super-low weight is excellent. I feel every mid-level monk should aspire to own one of these.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 09 2002 at 3:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have one for sale on Cazic-Thule server 5k or will trade it for a Netted Kelp Tunic. Send a tell to Izzler Sizzler.
Too bad they nerfed Fungus Grove
# Dec 14 2001 at 12:25 PM Rating: Decent
That's right, if you were hoping to score one of these in Fungus Grove, be prepared to be there a while. The first week Luclin was up and running, these were dropping faster than the Taliban. It was common to see about 80 people in the zone at any given time. Now, however, you will be hard pressed to find three groups hunting there. Why? They added faction to some of the most hunted mobs, they made them tougher, and apparently, they scaled the drop rates way back. Go see for yourself, and expect the price on this nice 2hb to go up when people realize this.

I hunt these things with my 54 cleric and 53 ranger. Easy camp to multibox. AWESOME EXP. Saw 3 of these things drop in my group yesterday. I think that was just dumb luck though. Very nice weapon. =) Looks sweet too.

I went to FG with my 47 ranger and some 45-60 guildmates. There is a bunch of Tormoks right near the tunnel to town that are blue to a 47. Infact almost all the Tormoks on track were blue to me. So if you could get into a group there you could get one at 45 or so. (The tough part would be getting a group. Apparently someone decided this zone is 50 or 54+ on Erollsi Marr. *cough*Magister*cough So the best bet is bring guildmates.) We were fighting mushrooms, not Tormoks but I hung around the Tormok area a bit and they seemed about as tough as the 'shrooms.

I have one of these now. As a 57th monk, the min damage I saw was 33. The max damage I did was 193. With the monk /disc innerflame I did 333 damage one hit. I'm still testing this out.

very cool.. don't see why rangers woudn't use this.. i would =)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 31 2002 at 10:14 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why would you use this 2hb knowing there is a 31 30 2hb out there for you?
#Ronaan, Posted: Dec 08 2001 at 8:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) why rangers wouldn't use this? because once you can get this item yourself as a ranger, you have your offhand epic at least which gives 40% haste. Want to lose that? Thought so.
Nice

AC + str makes this much better than the Deathbringer's Rod I currently wield (30dmg 40dly). Semi-low weight, especially when compared to other 2hb that monks can use, so they might like this weapon. There are many 2hb out there for monks anyways though. As for the bane damage, might be useful in Luclin, especially in Fungus Grove (as I imagine that despite the fact that fungi aren't plants, they'd be classified such in game).
pvp difference

On my server SKs and Pallys tend to focus on 1hs and 2hs. 1hb might be good against mobs ect. but even jade mace, club of the ice ocean don't seem to be very good at disrupting casting. Sometimes you see a pally using a piercer from necropolis, and that's a good laugh for all :)
Hmm

Most high lvl hybrids work on slashing and piercing, so I guess one of these would be for the druid, shammy or cleric who already has the wis of 200+ (or did they change how that worked) and just wants to carry more loot.
RE: Hmm
# Dec 07 2001 at 5:52 PM Rating: Default
umm this would be wasted on cleric druid ect why do its a frieking weapon let it goto warrior monk shadow night who ever can use it for its main purpose and good lord if you want more str for carrying loot go camp an idol of the thorned
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 03 2002 at 11:34 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Who are you to say what people should and should not equip thier characters with? I have a cleric, and guess what... STR is a Prime Rquisite on him. I would suggest you think before you spit out stupidity the way my cat spits out hairballs. Someone saying whats best for what class, and he pays ten bucks a month just like me... sheesh. BTW, I would LOVE to see my wizard hit for over 80.

I'm assuming you're talking about Paladins and Rangers? Many, many Shadowknights I know and group with are always maxed in one and two handed blunt skill, while ignoring the slashing/piercing to some degree.

Thank you, come again

What are you babbling about? Most meles i know have ALL combat skills maxed or very close. I use a Sarnak battle hammer on my 35 warrior, it works great and i would gladly accept this in its place. My 37 SK uses a drakkel icegrinder for 2hb and moss for 1hb. Both of these chars have their skills maxed.

This is a good weapon, any who can use it would prolly want to.

just the rambling of yet another

RE: Hmm
# Dec 12 2001 at 7:12 AM Rating: Decent
Yep I'll agree here -- any melee char without ALL skills maxed is foolish. I made that mistake as a ranger, I only kept up my 1h skills blunt slash and pierce. Then I got awarded a Woodsmans Staff 31/35 2hb and realized how stupid i was not to have the skills to use it effectivly for a while. So now ALL my melee chars are maxed in every weapon type they can use that includes 1hb and slashing for my rogue, since if he's alone he might not be able to get behind something 8')

And I'm beginning to work on maxing out melee skills on my druid too just for the heck of it.

This is a nice weap -- I've got one but the delay on it makes me keep using the woodsmans even though the battlestaff has stats. So for now the druid will use it until I pass it down to the warrior or SK

Yeah, you'd be silly not to have *ALL* your weapons skills maxxed out, 'cuz you never know when something nice will come along. You only have to use that 2HB, whatever, long enough to max it out at this level if you don't want to keep using it. Then work on another skill or go back to what you prefer.

Sure would hate to pick up one of these and then remember that my 2HB skill is 7! heh.
