With a small group (all 22-32) was easily handling the mobs in neth lair. We had a few of these drop. I get to wear it for now as it is an upgrade (lol).

A good spot to hit for a newplayer beast shammy that has not quested or found something better and doesn't want to spend a few plat in bazaar.

What a comment on the Netherbian Lair zone that one of the best drops is a pair of skidmarked boxers.

Why does this drop off the Trog King anyway? I think that is a mistake. They SHOULD drop off Trog Hunters , since they are SHM,BST and the trog hunter is the only SHM in the entire zone.

Lucky Buy?

I purchased one of these for about 1gp from a vendor in Felwithe. Would this have been an error or do vendors not see the value in these?

Some items aren't appreciated by vendors yet. I buy Netherbian Chitins from vendors for 6-7PP all the time and either twink alts with them or take them to Bazaar and sell them for 20PP. I found a haul of Journeyman Pitchatkas and Reinforced Acrylia Masks at vendors for just a few gold or silver coins and sold them all for platinum in Bazaar. I have also found tailored bags and backpacks at vendors for a heck of a lot less than their player to player selling prices and made huge profits off them. I even found a pristine forest drakeling scale (you hear noobs in Gfay whining for these all the time) for 5gp once. Considering the number of drakelings you have to kill to get one, 5gp is more than worth it and you can resell these for huge bucks too. I make the rounds of all the merchants in Kelethin and Felwithe whenever I am there and never fail to find a bunch of CB belts and pads. Belts sell for around 5-6 silver and the pads for a few gold. Talk about cheap xp/faction hits or huge profit potential!!

Just so you know these make my kilt dark green. And tint the legs dark yellowish like the other spore armor.

its actually a nice look. Despite the funky name...Now if only my lockjaw tunic didnt cover my new cool green kilt...

Soiled Breechclout?
How nasty is that?!?
They may as well call it crusty underwear. =)

This is, however, a viable replacement for the evercamped Gatorscale Leggings.

I don't think it can replace gatorscale. This is SHM BST only.
Cash cows?
# Mar 12 2002 at 10:11 AM Rating: Decent
Looking for answers to the following:

1) Are any higher level players (post50) ever seen reaking havoc on these things simply for the cash and items?

2) If so, do Trogs swarm to each other's aid like undead will or do they leave them to fend off the UBAH levels by themselves like Dervs and Orcs will?

3) Is this area hunted alot? I wouldn't infringe on lower levels that get XP from these guys but if it is usually unoccupied, I may spend a little time there and see how much plat and items I can accumulate in a couple to 3 or 4 hours.

Thanx!

As much as it pains me to say it, you could probably farm to your heart's content without upsetting too many folks. I was medding at the column in Neth Lair last night at prime time (Bristlebane) and saw the King wandering the hall. People just walked right by him without stopping! Being level 30, I took him down, got decent experience and the Breechclout!

When there are groups, they are usually hunting the Netherbians -- the Trogs are typically left alone. Don't know why more people don't hunt Trogs here. Fantastic exp and loot for low to mid 20 groups and mid 20 to 30 solo!

Actually, my 39 Ranger always tracks when passing between Nexus and DSP. If either swarm leader or trog king is up and NOT camped... I stop by and whack them. Always getting a chitin from the leader (which I then give to some friend). Only once has the king dropped his breechclout (c'mon, didn't you mean breechCLOTH?)

But I digress...

The trogs con dubious to me, and being green do not assist each other. The Netherbians on the other hand WILL aggro on you regardless of level. The most I have had on me is three at a time. The worst beating I got was leaving (after looting) with half health and zero mana.

Its not exactly a cash cow, but worth the time for someone who is perennially cash poor (how does one say "tradeskill ho?".

Hope this helps,

you won't see many sub 30th level players in here soloing. Although the cons are green to my 35th pally, I still get hit pretty hard and get swarmed easily. These guys aren't underconns, they don't hit for more than 45 or so...they just have a hell of a lot of hit points.

Please, my warrior has soloed here for the last three levels (26-28). Most stuff still cons dark blue, and with Dungeon exp it's descent. If I get 3 on me, I might have to zone. Like so many experience zones in this game, the loot is lousy (including the soiled nasty pants).

i've been hunting everything in there for quite a bit on Morell-Thule. Usually less than 10 folks at a time if that many, although most are just passing thru. The mobs in there can drop up to 5pp + some change. So it's quite nice. So far the trogs don't assist except to heal. The netherbian do assist only if you get to close to them. As for the fungoids i don't think they assist.

Got these today with a 27 rogue. Whooped the king easily. Think I may have take 50 dmg the whole time. I would say lvl is 25 or so. Rogue didn't want these so I took them and made some quick plat. Got 50pp in about 20 mins. Could have probably went for more if I wasn't looking for bow making money =).

I was just walking around Netherbian at 33 and came across this guy and killed him easily as a warrior at 50% health.

I sold the thing for 150p.

Level to Attain

Level to attain should be knocked down to lvl 30. I've seen the Trog King soloed by a lvl 26 warrior and a lvl 30 cleric.

I agree, I soloed him with my 21 Wiz just now. Had C3 but wasn't that hard. just Root and run a helluva distance away and cast lighting bolt.. if it breaks root still have plenty of time.. only 2x did he resist, and he was red con. still had 2 bubbles of health left.

Hey Zanabor, with a last name like Thunderbowels, sounds like this soiled breechclout is right up your ally! You probably even own your OWN soiled britches! LOL!

I was just wondering how 2 people in a group can solo a mob, Wouldn't that be more like... a duo ? ;)
RE: Level to Attain
# Jan 09 2002 at 1:28 PM Rating: Decent
I think you missunderstood them...he meant soloed by a 26 WAR and also soloed by a 30 cleric. Not both together...that would be a Duo. Two separate solos.

Level to attain
# Dec 13 2001 at 1:43 PM Rating: Decent
The level to attain on here is wrong, I am lvl 40 and this guy was light blue and everything else in the zone that I saw was all green to me. I had no problem clearing out all of the tunnels and racking up some easy plat. I won't be surprised if they nerf the drop rate of the money. I'm kinda interested in how much this would be worth. Not bad ac and wis even though it's not a very flattering item.
A little high
# Dec 12 2001 at 1:28 AM Rating: Decent
The level to attain is a little high as my regular group of 4 was able to take down the king rather easily at 25th level. Got this item twice in a couple of hours.

A pair of soiled in breechclouts ought to have some huge negative to charisma. I agree that these sound pretty disgusting. I'd pass on em, just on the name.
