I recently returned to the game and I was curious to know whether this armor is better than cultural. Everyone seems to be after the DoN cultural gear (for monks it is Elegant Sagacious armor).
But not knowing about the cultural armor I'm curious whether the aug'd cultural is better than aug'd Scratched/Purified Hide (or even the higher tiered)?

With the right augs, cultural is better (ac, hp, and end) but getting the last bloods (or better)is getting to be a PITA. So this is probably better until you can get yourself a Husk Tunic of the Wheeling Fist or Prismatic Tunic of the Ninth Circle. Ease of getting, this is better and probably costs less too in my opinion; that is unless you're in a guild that is raiding the last blood, serpent, sunshard, etc line, and you have access to someone able to do your line of cultural equipment. If you buy the whole setup on a cultral tunic, be willing to pay 3 to 4 mil(or more). The whole last blood, serpent, sunshard, etc line had been flooding the market because of the ghosting going on in the end zones, but I think that the GM's have it "sort of" under control now and are much harder to get in the bazaar.

Is this robe, leather or monk graphics on this?
its got normal leather graphics ... just like the scratched hide one

Does the tier 3 monk gear really have leather graphics and not monk graphics?
It is class specific gear after all. I was hopeing it did not have a robe graphic, but basic leather would be even worse.

T2 = Alloy-Linked / Glossy Silk / Scratched Hide / Warped Steel
ex. Warped Steel Breastplate
T3 = T2 + Steam Core in Steam Core Embedder
ex. Dedicated Steel Breastplate
T4 = T3 + essences from Crystallus
ex. Dedicated Chromasteel Breastplate
( since this statrted as a monk thread.. the Monkey tiers are as follows )
T2 = Scratched Hide
T3 = Purified Hide
T4 = *still a little scetchy on these*
