I just got these gloves last night from the thought stealer. He is a easy mob to kill doesnt resist snare or epic dot. Hardest part bout killing him is pulling him past all the roamers. He spawns near the entrance to Umbral plains near the Gorange Prophet spawn. Even though I have these im still going to use my Gloves of the Earth Crafter for the Thorn buff effect it has.

Gloves of Earthcrafting
# Feb 25 2002 at 2:57 AM Rating: Decent
Wouuld you take these over gloves of earthcrafting? These are much easier to get but you lose out on resists, etc and the effect. Problem is that effect on gloves of earthcrafting is the level 49 damage shield, so you wouldn't use it for anything but buffing lower level chars...

anyone have an opinion? I'm not sure if it's worth trying to get a pair

I use my gloves of earth crafting over these because of all the other stats. I keep the pair of slighted gloves I got for trade skill usage and not much else.

Drop off the Thought Stealer lvl 60 non summoning worm, looks like mind burrower only smaller. It isnt very fast and doesnt hit that hard. Resisted Epic alot but not much else.
Dont know how it is spawned timed or ph's.
Nice Item though gives me about 280 wis

Nokken 60 druid TT server
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 02 2002 at 12:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Sorry to contradict ya mate but, last I heard, wis limit was 250 or 255, as it is with all other stats except hp/ac/atk. Sure wish I could have 280 wis but....that is wishful thinking. I had thought lvl 60s would know this.
RE: Gloves
# Apr 29 2002 at 4:22 PM Rating: Good
Stop flaming...Maybe he does have 280 Wisdom if you add the numbers....Char info will only show 255...doesnt mean he cant keep eqipiing the wis items...Shesh thought you would know that.
RE: Gloves
# May 03 2003 at 1:20 PM Rating: Decent
Actually, with PoP starting at level 61 you can now break the 255 cap for attributes. It's a flat 5 per level PAST 60 so you can get to 280 without using AAs, then you can also use PoP AAs to get an additional 5 per level for a total of 305.

So, when he goes past level 60 the extra wisdom will be useful, even if he is capped now.

These dropped for us last night in Maidens Eye. They came off of a level 60 worm. He doesnt seem to resist anything very well, as our slows, dots, etc all stuck on him. Although he had a whole lot of hps, he didnt seem to hit very hard for his level. The highest hit we took was in the 170s although generally it hit in the 130s. These gloves have a black look to them.
who dropped what?
# Dec 19 2001 at 4:46 PM Rating: Decent
dropped off the named mind worm, thought borrower thing. only thing that dropped though..
thier actual dropping place
# Dec 13 2001 at 4:38 AM Rating: Default
Okay got these today..

They came off "a thought stealer" its a named worm lvl 60 its bigger then all the other worms. How you get it to spawn i don't know a frnd spotted it. anyways its ez enuf to slow for a 59 shaman slowed twice ez. The annoying this is its hard to hit. it didnt hit very hard tho only for like 180 and it didnt hit very often
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 09 2001 at 8:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Paladins never get any good str stuff this is even better because of the wis i would kill to get it but i cant use it (

Fullin, why don't you just calm down.

Maybe the guy just doesn't look around well.
As a Paladin, I have Crystal Chitlin Gauntlets on (Ac20, +10str).

Personally if you got all those characters and all are a fairly high level then you probably have too much time on your hands anyways.

Enjoy the game already!
I get pissed too, but that doesn't last long.
Then I go back :D

Check out the Idol of the Fallen that drops in the same zone. Only 10 wisdom, but is only useable by melees and hybrids and goes in the range slot. Paladins that hunt in the zone will want more AC for the gauntlets anyways. This is a nice way of Verant giving us what we both need. Someone must have been drunk or something.

Ok folks, cut the crap. Where do they drop?
RE: Drop
# Dec 09 2001 at 9:59 AM Rating: Excellent
These gloves drop in Maiden's Eye. Both pairs I have seen this week have been off level 58 cleric-type mobs. Rough estimation (based on them CH'ing themselves) is around 12k to 13k HPs, and usual melee hits were from 50 to 150. In 3 days of constant fighting there, we saw 2 pairs drop.
RE: Drop
# Jan 05 2002 at 1:06 AM Rating: Decent
Actually, the Cent mobs are the 4 armed ones, but the ones you need are the level 57-58 that spawn in the ruined area near Dawnshroud zone. That's where the high level ones hang out, and don't wander like the "blue" ones you keep seeing.
RE: Drop
# Dec 09 2001 at 1:11 PM Rating: Decent
From the 4 armed thingies or the black robed fellas?
RE: Drop
# Dec 11 2001 at 3:15 AM Rating: Good
OK I can answer that from the above info.

Brother said that they drop off lvl 58 cleric-style mobs, right? Well I was hunting here with my 57 druid and the only things that conned above blue on tracking were these "XXX Centien" mobs (I can't remember what is in place of XXX...)

Thank you for the VERY helpful post. I can't remember specifically whether or not the Centien's have 4 arms or whether they are the hooded robed guys, but I'd be willing to bet they are the hooded robed guys, as I rarely saw those running around the open field, and I saw tons of the 4-armed guys running around, and they all conned blue.

That said, I'm going to make it my mission this weekend to get a pair of these gloves...Damn they are sweet. 20 wisdom on gloves is SOOO nice. Goodbye forrest loops, hello resist/mana earrings. Goodbye velium jasper rings, hello velium diamond wedding ring and bandit ring from Fungus Grove.

Not like this will be that easy to get, but I'm more than willing to work at it hehehe....
RE: Drop
# Dec 16 2001 at 9:46 PM Rating: Decent
One thing to keep in mind, you can now go over 200 wisdom and continue gaining. Don't know if it's confirmed, but I've seen some calcs seemingly showing all way up to 255 wisdom (or int if it applies) just as pre SoL and up to 200 int/wis.

Gives people a choice between swapping out extra wis/int for ac/hp/mana/resists, or keeping the extra for more mojo. I guess people will be more inclinded to carry around extra equipment depending if they need more mana or other things.

OMG, heh with the wis on these things.....heh closest thing that a druid can use would be Gloves of Earthcrafting or something like that, anyway the quest is uber hard and involves the head of the big dog in Kael...Cant wait to get some of these for my druid
Think about this

Ok in reading alot of these people are complaining this is making people to powerful, and this is too much, well maybe Just maybe there preparing people for Bigger Badder things to come?
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 08 2001 at 1:53 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The 200 wis cap was not removed. We were just given more mana for our current wisdom.
RE: Kinda useless.
# Dec 09 2001 at 7:05 AM Rating: Default
These are wicked Shammy gloves because even at 43 and using a ton of wis gear I'm only at 160 wis. Most shamans have to start at 90-100 wis so a 20 wis pair of gloves helps us bigtime. Just not looking forward to fighting the cleric/druid/ or beastlord to get a pair :(

+20 wisdom in one slot means you can convert even more of your other slots to +Mana, +HP, and/or +Resists. That alone makes these gloves useful. The 15 AC is also a nice little benefit.

Remember that they've supposedly raised the soft cap on int/wis for casters so that you get more mana for points over 200. Rumour is it's half the normal amount from 200 to 255. Items like this will be used to bring high level players over the self enforced cap of 200 without sacrificing the hp/mana/resist gear they have.
RE: Kinda useless.
# Dec 08 2001 at 9:08 PM Rating: Good
That said I still would rather stay at about 200 - 205 wis and beef up on resists and other stats as well as mana...

If you get half the normal mana gain (10 mana to 1 wis), being then 5 mana per 1 wis, its better to just go with mana gear and let big stat bonus items like this bad boy get you to 200 or so wisdom. Not to mention the Innate Wisdom ability that every 50+ druid should be working towards...

They need to make it like it should be: in all the levels prior to 51 you get about 2mana per 1wis for every set of 10 levels (i.e. a level 10 player gets 400 mana with 200wis worth of gear and a lvl 50 player gets 2000); thus, in 50 - 60 they SHOULD make it so that this trend continues and you get 12 mana per 1wis (not sure if they've done this), and they should make all wisdom count towards this up to 255. That would even things out again as far as melee vs. casters overall dmg output.

Thank you. *gets off soapbox*

i don't think that these are too good for what they are.. i mean.. they ARE no drop, so it's not like you can twink someone with them. and by the time you should be hunting in the zone that they dorp.. you're 55+ so you SHOULD be eventually getting nice armor anyway.. just my 2cp

TOO MUCH
# Dec 07 2001 at 6:20 PM Rating: Default
You know, honestly, this item is to much. I like powerful loot as much as the next guy, but when non-dragon/god level mobs are dropping stuff like this, it kinda makes me stay "what did I bother with these last few years for." Maiden's is going to be the Cobalt Scar of Luclin, 20 druids all running around, training stuff on top of each other, trying to kite mobs about.

For those of us who spent countless hours sitting in HoT in Temple of Veeshan camping out Woven Grass sets, to see something come along that just totally blows it out of the water is silly. Yes there are better "single" type items that Woven Grass Gaunts, but why bother now when I can basically clear 3 new slots for resist gear by donning these gloves.

Part of the fun of the game is the Challenge! These gloves make the game weaker.

I see the drops in ME and UP as opportunities for those not in large powerful guilds to finally have a chance at decent loot. If you have been camping stuff in ToV, then obviously you are in a fair sized guild, and have the luxury of doing so. Personally, I will never see ToV as I am a casual gamer in a small guild - and I welcome these additions to the game for those of us who would otherwise not have a chance at such loot.

Now, there are plenty of tougher dungeons with amazing drops you can camp with your guild, so that's where you should be.
RE: TOO MUCH
# Mar 13 2002 at 10:10 PM Rating: Decent
I'm not so sure I'd make this the cobalt scar of Luclin yet... Even the better druids on the server are going to be hard pressed to avoid adds as the spawns for many mobs are throughout the zone and not necessarily in a static location. Add to that that the stupid Xi's (at least the clerics) will heal almost any mob your attacking, and you have a formula for a feared, charmed, or just beat down druid. Fast.
I'm there.
# Dec 07 2001 at 5:00 PM Rating: Decent
If you are a druid with SoL, are you in ANY other zone besides Maiden's eye? OUTDOOR zone with amazing loot. Too bad some things summon. If you are a druid 50+ with Luclin, and aren't hunting here, send me a tell so I can bash in your skull with my twink's jade mace :)
RE: I'm there.
# Feb 08 2002 at 11:52 PM Rating: Decent
If I were 50, you'd have to bash my head in. Lag is so bad for me there I can hardly move. :b

Very nice
# Dec 07 2001 at 4:51 PM Rating: Decent
I'd switch my Jaundiced gloves for these in a friggin heartbeat :)

Got a new dex buff, so that's pointless. Only lose 1 ac, I think (which is only like 3 total),
which isn't a big deal.. Gain an ******** of wis, which is great for stupid shammies like me that started with 80 base wise (20 points into int *cringe*), and also STR for the tanking shammy. =)
OMG
