People are just evil. The high lvls that can loot these fine weapons wanted to get more money.(like they dont have enough)So they started a rumor that they were lore. Thus people would pay more for the non lore ones. ACK! EVIL!! I'm still a newbie, and when I first came into this game I saw a 51 ranger dual wielding these fine puppies. So, I then new I wanted to be a ranger. I began my ranger hoping one day I would dual wield these.... Then my hopes and dreams were smashed when I heard they were now only dropping as lore. NOT TRUE! A lvl 57 said he looted 2 in the last week! those evil people! but atleast they got more money. got to go, my mom sais its time for bed.....

Even if there isn't a lore version of these, the price is still going to raise because of the drop rate on these now! I was having any luck in E-commons (on Rathe server) finding a centi ls for sale so I went up to Luclin and adventured out to Maiden's Eye to see if I could buy off of someone who just looted one. After a few days of having no luck, I started taking a poll to see how many were dropping. In about a 4 day period, I heard of 1 being dropped! Well, I guess I won't be getting a price break on these anytime soon!!!

I was in North Freeport lastnight trying to buy a *LORE* CentiLS. No takers... I even offered 500pp just for someone to show me one... Still no takers... The only thing close was one guy who told me he had sold 4 of them that morning. I asked him how he had 4 LORE items and he went invis and zoned... If the LORE one does exist pleae send in an updayed picture, until then I do not beleive a LORE one exists.

Finally someone said the same thing i did, i serched for 3 hours in Faymart trying to get a person to show me a *Lore* Centi Longsword. No one did, a guy said he was selling them for 1k a piece i asked if they were lore he said yes and i said how and then he went LD i think on purpous just to get away from the embarasment of being caought in a lie.
So to agree with you, Lore or Nerfed Centi Longswords do not exist. I feel just a reason to jack up the price from 1k to 1.5-2k, I my self am not luck enough to b high enough to go to the zone wear they drop at butr when i am or when i find a friend i will go and see if they are. But until then i do NOT BELIEVE.

I go to EC a lot looking for stuff that i could use. What i see is strange... tons of auctions for "pre-nerfed" Centi Ls's. But i never see one that is nerfed. I'm wondering if people just said that they are now lore to make us constantly talk about what i am talking about. Thus, those people who just tried to make some mischeif succeeded in their little goal.

A friend just got a Centi LS, and it didnt' have the damage bonus listed. Anybody else notice this?

That's becuase your friend is too low level for a dmg bonus just yet.

I got one no lore only 800pp in ec ^_^ and i trade my Shissar scaled boots for it. great trade and very lucky!

yet everyone selling one is going "pre-nerf" centi LS, since its non lore. Funny thing is,every one sold is a pre-nerf centi LS and no one is ever selling a "post nerf" one.
Today I offered 50 plat just to show me one in the trade window. Tomorrow I'm offering 100 plat.
I am also going to ask on the verant dev board for them confirm that they are now lore and people are not being scammed.

No you can't because lore ones don't exist. Its a big hoax. If your friend has one, I will make a character on drinal, just to see it.
I recently bought a centi LS. The person who sold it said he looted it that day. It was not lore. This was in February. I asked him about lore swords, and he said they don't exist. He hen started shouting, oocing and auctioning WTB LORE centi Longsword. and offered 10k to anyone who brought him one. he and two other guys kept this up for an hour in EC (our server's auction zone). Nobody could produce a lore Centi Longsword.
I feel at this point that it was an unfounded rumor, and will not believe otherwise until someone shows me a Lore one in game. I have asked several times since then if anyone had seen a lore sword, and nobody has. They've all "heard about them" but nobody can produce one.

Totally agree with you, I hear everywhere that the swords are now lore but it seems to me that if that were the case someone would have taken a screenshot and posted it by now so their was no doubt. I almost feel like sitting in EC auctioning my two CLS's for a LORE one simply so I can grab a screenshot and provide proof. A good dose of skeptesism is a good thing.

I read somewhere that they don't drop in Maiden's anymore. Of course the one time that they dropped while there, I lost the roll and ended up with a spear. I haven't totally given up buying one, but whenever I'm in EC, I see someone auction WTB Centi LS...

was in EC today and was trying to get another centi LS and was offered one for 1k whent to go get it and yup it was LORE so dont think its fake its true ended up getting a ssoy
Dude..I bet you feel pretty ignorant lying like that... It has been confirmed as a hoax...not a single Lore Centi LS exists. So is this lying thing a mental handicapp or something that you just developed over time?...

faster delay should always be in primary unless you are a rogue(for the backstabs of course). this is how it works, i would like to clarify it for everyone. Primary hand attacks, then checks dual wield. your secondary delay has no significance. the chances of your secondary attacking are only based on your skill level of dual wield. after the secondary attacks it checks for double attack, so your primary attacks again, which gives you another opportunity to dual wield again. that's why when it only looks like some mobs hit you once but they really hit you 2, 3, or 4 times. dual wield and double attack are just random occurences, higher skill, more chance you have of doing it obviously. that's all i have to say, i'm sure i'll get some response from someone calling me a moron, or a newb or some garbage, but that's the truth

Are you telling me that delay on your offhand weapon is absolutely meaningless? I find that hard to believe. I didn't say I wouldn't believe it mind you, but if this is true then all one should seek for offhand is damage. That means for offhand you could get a 15/60 weapon (yeah I know it don't exist) and it would be no different than weilding a 15/25???? That's tough to swallow, and if it is true than if everyone catches on to this fact it will warrant some heavy new coding to fix this "oversight"
Now the way I always heard it was that dual weild is checked every time your offhand weapon would swing if it were in your primary. In otherwords they are on different timers according to delay. The greying out of your combat button only shows primary, but there is indeed another timer at work for your secondary.
This also makes much more sense according to what I see as my damage rolls by. Yes it's true that mobs hit the way you describe. But I need to see some parsing proof on this before I believe it. Meanwhile I will do a few tests myself...

The reason the secondary hand swings is because your primary is checking Hand to Hand with no weapon equipped, so the default delay on bare fists is the delay.
Just for fun, i put a Mosscovered Twig in my primary (3 / 10) and a wurmslayer in my secondary (25 / 40) in my secondary hand. I hit 2x with my wurmslayer in the time it would have taken to hit once normally. Delay is judged by your primary weapon's ratio.

So you put a moss covered twig (secondary only) in your primary hand, and a wurmslayer (primary only) in your secondary slot. Just how did you manage to do that?
I think what you mean is that you never have seen a moss covered twig, because they don't drop anymore, and the few that are left are incredibly rare, and one day, when you get high enough in level, you hope to buy a Wurmslayer.
I have, on the other hand, tried using a high delay weapon in secondary. My warrior, lvl 14 at the time, used to use Icetooth claws in primary (11/29). He was given a shield of the slain unicorn (10/40), and tried using it for a short time. I would NEVER get dual wield to go off two rounds in a row. I tried this configuration for several levels, and NEVER got 2 dual wields in a row. Note that this configuarion made it amazingly simple to see which hand was swinging. The primary gave the slashing weapon message, and secondary gave piercing.
I have read conficting things on the level at which the delay on secondary is independent of primary. Someone here said lvl 50. I read somewhere else that it was based on reaching 200 skill in dual wield (lvl 39).

With Centi LS in primary, and Centi SS in secondary, he gets dual wield in consecutive rounds on occasion. Switch them, and he doesn't. I guarantee, i have seen a lore Centi Longsword, they are now dropping instead of the old ones.

They have nerfed the Centi Longsword to lore. The pre-nerfed ones ARE NOT lore. The new ones that drop are lore. The non-lore ones are about 600pp to 1,000pp on the Karana server, the non-lore ones are about 4,000 to 5,000pp.

I just purchased a pre-nerf centi ls and a centi ss. I am a ranger with no haste items at present, although I am planning on buying some chitin handwraps very soon. Which sword should I hold in my primary, the faster or the more damaging?

As a general rule the lower delay always goes in your primary hand.
That is true as a general rule, however, this is an interesting case. First, the delay is very similar 25 vs 27. 2nd, the LS is 2 more damage. What this means is that for a LOW level character, the LS in primary probably would outdamage the ss by a good margin. For a high level, the combination of level bonus, and strength bonuses (typically, a melee will accumulate gear with str, even if it is not a goal of theirs), will overcome this, and the ss would begin to outdamage the ls. over a period of just over a minute (67.5 seconds, the point at which both weapons will end a swing simultaneously), the shortsword will get an extra 2 attacks. If the damage for two extra attacks exceeds the 4 pts per swing of extra damage the longsword would cause, then the ss is better, damagewise. the shortsword would have to have a max damage output of 50pts per swing to exceed the damage of the longsword. This means, with a listed damage of 12, the level bonus and strength bonus would have to generate 25pts of damage per swing. From what I have seen, 255 strength adds 18pts of damage, by itself, and I beleive the level bonus at 47 is 6, so that would be 12 pts more damage (if I understand level bonus correctly). Assuming Strength maxxed out through equipment and spells, at lvl 47, the shortsword will outdamage the longsword, but by a very small margin. about 7-14 hp every minute, depending on the number of double attacks. This is at lvl 47, the higher the level beyond that, the more the ss begins to outperform the ls.
The other factor is taunt. Since he is a ranger, he wants to minimize taunt. The LS would be less taunt in primary than the ss. If he peels the mob off the tank too often, I'd switch the swords.

If you own a Non-lore Centi LS is it possible to Dual wield with a Lore Centi LS? Or do I have to go looking for a second Non-lore?
If you can find a lore one, buy it. Then please show it to me.

I saw a Ranger today who was using two if these so unless its one of those situations that you
need to turn in the old one to a GM to recieve the new one then they are not lore

Ok, I have heard these where now lore but I have never seen anyone that actually had a lore sword everyone seems to have a non lore sword? I am on xegony. Can anyone tell me if the new swords are lore on my server?

I can't speak for other servers, but on Vazaelle, the lore swords tend to sell for 1.5k. The non-lore, however, is different story. I've seen anywhere from 2k to 3k, the 3k being more common, and they tend to go quickly.

The Centi Longsword is a great offhander for rangers. Good ratio, damage, great strength & stamina stats..and underpriced.
