I looted 4 or 5 of these off Orc Centurions in Misty Thicket. Sold them in Bazaar for 20 plat each. If I had been thinking, I wold have sold them to the vendors in RV who I am Warmly too, instead of the losers in Bazaar who I am apprehensive to. =\
While camping an orc outpost with an orc chief in Lesser Faydark, I looted about 5-6 of these in about an hour. They were drops from Orc Legionnaires. Phat plat!
I had about 90 pp when my lvl 13 dwarf pally first went to Luclin, as i was walking around Shadow Haven i came across the short and stout area. When i was in the room with the magistrate (or somthing like that) in the town council area along the one wall there was fellow dwarf selling armor but when i hailed him i was almost spammed to death, i look to my right and there was like 30 of his supposed wives all on the same spawn point. i could see them all as they each swayed in different directions in different times (i think it was a programing error or E'ci) But i went and clcked him and he was a merchant and the ONLY thing he was selling was Pickbringers gear. He had every freaking piece of the set. I brought three pieces because they were around 30 pp each. I left soon after but im trying to get back to try and get somemore of the set. BTW each piece is magic and has one stat with a minor bonus on it, like from 1-3.
to the person below me, the reason its got an average of 25 pp is casue of the race, charisma and class of your character, my vah shire rogue can only sell these for 24pp, and i have a charisma of 60, so if u have a lower charisma u get less money for it, and a higher u get more
Why is this listed as the second item (as zero AC), when it has an AC of 8. Point 2: when you can sell it to a merchant for over 26 plat, why does it list with an average price of 25pp?
A buddy and I both, level 12s, looted 10 in an hour at Orc2 in WC. At first, we weren't aware of their value, but after we sold the first one, we went and camped for another 3 hours. Didn't loot another one in the three hours. Don't know how the code is set to drop, but was really fun to get 135pp each (sold at 27pp to an amiable merchant with 85 charisma) after scrounging for plat through 12 levels.
Not to start a whine thread or anything, but it's kinda weird not to see Gnomes on the list of classes that can use it. Not sure why they wouldn't be allowed to.
I acquired one of these with my lvl 31 druid, and while my charisma isn't ultra high, an amiable merchant was willing to pay me 26pp for it. Of course I actually got it off of a mucktail gnoll in East Karana...so EC isn't the only place to get it
Oh dear, another reason for Higher Level characters to KS from those Orc camps in the commons.
I've already heard the chat whilst runnin through EC on the Saryn server.
I don't think anyone minds you grabbin faction or holding a camp when nobody else is around - but please don't KS just because you can, what goes around comes around after all.
When I am There at these orc camps, I usually hold the camp until a group of people show up and then give the camp to them, plus I give it up when asked to those who want it. I have no problem about it. I usually hunt there when there is hardly anyone around. Its a nice bonus to have these drop cause 1 coif equals one MQ sheet. Yah I know could go somewhere else but soloing and finding groups for a pally is most diffucult at the times I am on line. All a matter of timing and need.
Got one off of Mooto in Misty Thicket. Merchant in the Rogue Guild in Rivervale offered me 24pp (and I don't have to carry it around trying to /auction). Will have to go back and see how much it sells for!!
Heh... These drop off any cents. If you are high level, go to SRo and pull ALL the orcs in the zone, slaughter, rinse and repeat. No newbs hunt in this zone so you can farm the coifs all you want without feeling bad
der ah um hullo, dis workin? anywho, um, me tink me huntin in da souf ro, not sure but it bery hot dere, mek taroga itch sooo bad. me a shaman n me gots more moons den me gots fingurs on da wun hand, but not as many moons as me gots fingurs on bof da hands. bah, dis mek taroga head hurt. jes sayin ef youse see me round dere, don kil dose bad orcs, dose for me, n all dere coifs are belong to me! danks youse
this was made for peeps that started plaing the game so they can catch up with us lvl 60 greedy bastrads damm you peeps are messed up in the head if you need pp that bad go kill something of your lvl or go cry to verant so mobs your lvl drop the nice stuff dont go farm a orc camp wile there is newbies there just siting waiting for you greedy *** to fnish so they can get into lvling
I think it's just something that should be dropping somewhere else in luclin or so. Same thing happened last week when shadowmen started dropping an item from luclin.
I personally think this is a great idea, though it is also one of those cases where TLC would be a good idea, (i personally dont like TLC, but it does have uses) also, I mean, at level 1, if you saw something like this, it would make your day, I think verant is trying to get everyone new to the game caught up to all the peeps that have been playin for 2+ years, GJ verant!!
If this drops more than once every couple of hours or so then they will need to nerf the price (or drop rate, but happy to see it drop personally). Its just way to over the top to have something that gives loot like this on mobs like cents and such.. 26pp is more than your average HG will drop in a kill (usually much less). /shrug, if its more common than that, expect the mobs lower levels will get xp from to be farmed (and farmed hard) by higher level characters..
Camping the Orcs of East Commons is like buying a lottery ticket and getting a Coif is like winning the grand prize. There are nights when almost none drop and there are nights when a couple of campers can make it bigtime. I see no reason to nerf the drop rate. A couple of coifs can pay for important things for a newbie, such as those expensive spells or some significant practice in blacksmithing. In my opinion these drop too infrequently for a higher-level farmer to even bother with them, since the farmer can take down willowisps or darkweed snakes for a more predictable income.
I got my first one on the 4th off the only Orc Centurian I killed that night (probably a fluke.) On the 5th I spent about 4 hours at the orc camp in WC and two more dropped off Centurians in that time. Update: On my third day there, 5 dropped in 6 hours. Hopefully this gives a good idea of how often these drop.
Yeah, it'd be really weird if after going to so much trouble to make cash sinks (horses, planar stones, peridots, etc) that they'd put in such a great money maker.
Although, it may be a way to get money into the hands of lower level charectors...remember how long it took to earn a single pp in the old world as a real newbie? Think about what you see for /auct -- there's rarely anything worth less than a few hundred for sale, at least on my server. Maybe they wanted to give real newbies more buying power...
