for class?
# Mar 17 2003 at 10:36 PM Rating: Default
should go to any class. ANY class can use more mana regen... and HP/mana item is good for secondary slot

RE: for class?
# Sep 04 2003 at 1:48 PM Rating: Decent
The class it should go to?
One of the four it names. Sound simple? It is because:
1. That's the way SOE wanted it.
2. The "other" classes (read as druids, cause I never hear clerics/shaman whining) get plenty of FT gear.
I see so much stuff dropping for wis casters that has FT, even saw a piece with INT on it yet it was limited to clr/shm/dru, that it's outrageous sometimes. Most of the INT caster FT gear drops in leet zones OR off leet mobs OR involves ridiculous quests that involve leet zones/mobs...
The classes that deserve this are named on it, AS INTENDED...
#REDACTED, Posted: May 28 2003 at 5:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok I'm gonna say this again. Wizard's are nothing more than their mana bar. Enchaters have pets and mega mana regen as a class ability, magicians have a pet, necros have a pet and insane mana regen anyway, wizards have A MANA BAR! If a wizard gets this item it will be worth more to them than 3 of these would be to any other int caster. Yes it's nice for all of them to have 15 FT on top of they're other crap but for a wizard no matter what it is essential for us to continue to do our half assed job of doing continual damage when our class is not made to do this. But anyway it doesn't matter any class should get a fair chance at this item unless they are just looking for a way to compress their FT1 items into 1 item, no one deserves this great item for that stupid reason.

I'll start of saying I don't have a wizard; however, wizards do get the harvest spells and their pet for mana regen. This paticular piece is useful to all classes. The CHA would be good for an enchanter if they don't already have dire charm. Just my own opinion tho.
RE: for class?
# Mar 29 2004 at 1:43 AM Rating: Decent
Wizzys get familiars, chanters get crack. Wizzys get harvest, its outdated in 10 levels, chanters get crack5! and sure, thye need cha, but who doesn't?

# Mar 02 2003 at 3:54 AM Rating: Default
In my opinion the class that would overall benefit the most from this item, barring this person isn't already at the FT15 cap, would be a Wizard. Necros have insane mana regen as is, and even when totally OOM, they still can do damage via their pet, the same with Mages. Enchanters generally do damage via a charmed pet, and can C3 themselves whenever they want if they have the spell. The absolute only way wizards can do damage, at least the ones who are at the level they would get this item, is via using their mana. So IMO this would "benefit" them the most, whether it be soloing, or on a raid, etc.
RE: .
# Aug 22 2004 at 4:16 PM Rating: Decent
Well in my opinion wizards need this slightly less than mages. Mages get two forms of mana regen in their entire life span. Xegony's Phantasmal Guard and Mod rods. Wizards have familiars, harvest, and enough good mana/damage ratio spells.

People seem to think Mages have pets and that's enough. It isn't. Not even close. Mages need better pet heals, maybe some summoned pet toys that proc a slow (not chanty or SHM level but BST level) and if SOE feels generous enough, maybe some slightly better nukes.
RE: .
# Aug 01 2007 at 12:58 AM Rating: Decent
Wizards need all the mana regen they can get. Unlike mages, wizards have very little utility. We nuke. We root/snare so the mobs don't kill us while we nuke. That's it. Familiars and Harvest don't make that big a difference. They definitely help though.

While we do have plenty of good damage/mana ratio spells at our disposal, our full potential doesn't come out until we've gotten a ton of AAs.
Class most befefited?
# Jan 28 2003 at 12:50 PM Rating: Decent
I have had the opportunity to group with a lot of classes, and when it comes to an item such as this, I have to reflect back on past experiences.
1) "Wizzy with KEI LFG" = noone gets them cause they nuke early and die.
2) enchanters normally never run low on mana unless there is a bad pull, or a mob gates.
3) By the time you can actually take down Tunare most int casters are 255 Int.
4) Most Necros are full mana, unless pumping other classes, in which case, the FT 5 is very beneficial.

I suppose reflecting back, this item could actually benefit any of the 4 classes that can use it, but which would it help the most? Seems it is a situation on who is there at the time. It is definately a good enchanter piece, but the FT5 makes it really sought after. I am not sure, but there arent many FT 5 items are there? I think they left off two of the most needed classes on this item : Shaman and Cleric.

I hope this helped.

This is in reply to your "Wizards with KEI LFG" thing...

As a wizard, I'm ashamed of some of our class... people whose cousins, nephews, friends, whatever invite them to play EQ with promises of twinkage and PLing. While hunting on my monk alt, I grouped with a level 50 wizard who had no idea how to quadkite, no idea how to manage aggro, and no idea that casting a rain spell while a chanter was trying to mez multiple adds was a bad thing.

/tell noobwiz This your main?
noobwiz tells you 'Yup'
/tell noobwiz You got PLed and twinked didn't you?
noobwiz tells you 'Yup'

All I gotta say is this... if you're level 50 and can't manage the concept of aggro or when to use certain nukes, go back to your character select screen and hit delete, or do some research. You WILL get people killed. You WILL be a burden at any raid you go on.

And remember. Just because you have one uber character, doesn't make you a genius at the rest. I've run into 50ish wizards who have 65 bard mains, or some such non-aggro intensive class, who claim that it's okay they got PLed up that high, they have a main. They then proceed to chain-nuke, pull aggro, and die.

Anyway, that's my little rant :)

Killer item, I'd give my flappy for it. Any class who can wield it, should be eligible. It's up to which player deserves it more, not which class.

I think all could benefit...

Wizards in the high end game (when this is attainable) can burn a lot of mana quickly in a raid situation, and every tic of mana regen helps the nukes keep coming, and the fighting becomes shorter because of that.

Chanters I don't quite see as much, unless they're doing a ton of crowd control. My old roomy was in my guild, epic chanter, and he was almost permanently FM.

Necros? Why not. They have killer mana regen spells, but that doesn't exclude them from FT gear.

Mages? See wizards ;)

Hmm i have a rant....Dieing does suck but it is a game not RL, so if you die cause someone does not know what they are doing with thier class, then teach them. If they won't listen then disband from the group and leave. This is a very complex game and it takes time to learn. If you don't want to take gambles people then find a raiding guild who knows what they are doing and don't get into any pick up groups.
What class deserves???

I have to say i agree with Ahmenhotep. Nothing amazes me more then all the ignorant little loot whores all trupeting their own class as most deserving. Fact is, this is an awesome piece for any class that is allowed to use it. So many items on this site have these moronic postings that i cant help but to wonder how so many stupid people have even aquired the skills to type.

RE: What class deserves???
# Dec 27 2002 at 10:11 PM Rating: Default
The 'this is just great for everyone' argument has been trumpeted too much. If youre in a guild capable of getting alot of stuff, there's the following criteria:

1) how useful it is to the guild
2) how useful to the person
3) how much that person deserves it

1) Wizard gets the most use out of this item on a raid. Let's look at the other classes: mage has less efficiency than a wizard, he's obviously getting less use out of a ft item; enchanter tash/mezz does not suck alot of mana, if youve ever been in a big CC fight, youll know that chanters dont burn mana hardcore; necros give mana to clerics.

Now just for the cleric thing I'm going to take two guilds that I know are on the exact same fights. I chose newer guilds that have gotten into VT within 3 days of eachother and have similar average FTs. Necro: 1.8FT, Wizard: 10. One of the Fires of Heavens necro profiles reads FT: 13.

2) Nec/Mag/Wiz derive their solo xp rate from their mana incoming. Magicians 63+ have a hard time soloing. Enchanters in POP are getting it easier, until they go into COD where the good spot has pulls of 5 at times!

3) This is simple: whoever raids the most, gets more.

----enchanter tash/mezz does not suck alot of mana, if youve ever been in a big CC fight, youll know that chanters dont burn mana hardcore---

Sorry sir what lvl Enchanters we talking about here? CC-Crowd control costs alot of mana to maintain Bliss is 300 a shot adds up quick,
Enc dont wave a magic wand and everything stops,it must be maintained untill the group can take care of it,sometimes thats remezzing something 3-4 times if its a big pull.Any class listed should have Equal dibs on this ultra rare.
RE: What class deserves???
# Oct 02 2002 at 1:11 PM Rating: Default
It should be 0 weight cuz it's a great monk item ;). Fact is I would love one for my necro, and I can't complain about mana regen, but keeping everyone else in mana keeps me fairly low. 5 more mana per tick would be welcome. This would be awesome for enchanter too, nice cha, nice int, and FTV does stack with everything they get as well. Who can say what class deserves an item, depends on the raid, the guild, and your point systems I guess.

It's a good thing that everyone posts on here stating who should get what item, because I know for a fact that all the uber guildleaders consult these message boards to tell them who should be awarded items. If it wasn't for you guys, they'd be clueless how to run their guilds.

if your raiding tunare, ench's are NOT mezzing (except in xp groups, which is unimportant because guilds doing this don't much care about how you do in xp groups). if you get adds, everyone switches to them, they are kited away, or a warrior is stuck on em till the main target is dead ... and the only charm theyre gonna be doing is dire charm. also the guild doing this is going to be giving it out based on the system they use, or what the officers decide, not what ppl say on boards like these.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 22 2002 at 2:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) if i had any say this would not go to a chanter unless other casters cabable us using it hace already passed on it, personally id rather a wizzy have it.

consider the fact that in long fights where your clerics are in a cheal cycle, they are gonna go oom very very fast. Of the 4 classes noted in this item, I would consider a necro one of the top priorities. Clerics can only be given so much mana with mod rods, FT, bard songs, and KEI. Giving more mana to necro = more mana for clerics from twitches (something subversion i believe) = tanks stay alive.

RE: but consider...
# May 25 2002 at 4:55 AM Rating: Decent
Yep! Cuz that's what necros were made to do! Give the clerics mana cuz it's more useful that way!

Give me a break. People who kill Tunare will most likely be rewarding this item to the people who contribute the most on raids by points or merit. Not by class...
RE: but consider...
# Jun 15 2002 at 8:45 PM Rating: Decent
To Zilth, your right about it not being automatically a chanter item because of the charisma, but it will still go to enchanters if they are active raiders just like any other class who can use an item..

To Blueworth, don't be stupid, items on raids are not given out depending on their useful ness in an exp group...

Ayanar, not saying it won't go to a necro, but necroes don't typically don't run oom on raids when they are feeding clerics, with lich and bard songs and kei they can get plenty of mana..

And Lord Alien, you are exactly right, unless it would be absolutely crazy to give an item to this or that class, then if you have a point system in your guild the most active raider who is gonna have the most points is gonna get it regardless of class, and if items are handed out by officers then they are not going to care too much about making sure it gets 100% effeciency, it will go to the most active raiders.

KEI doesn't stack with Lich-series spells. And with group taps, mana-pumping and dots (even more useful now with new dot stacking), necros could use that mana every bit as much as any other class.

If you really want mana regen...

Make a necro.

Mid 50s Iksar necro with Zland heart and Demi Lich regens over 30 hp a tick, with no hp loss.

Sorry Broxilius, you're slightly off here. Mid-50s Iksar don't have a standing regen of 48+ HP (about what Demi Lich takes per tick) unless they have spells/bard songs effecting them.
RE: Mana
# Dec 07 2002 at 7:31 AM Rating: Excellent
You don't need 48hp a tick regen for demi lich. Yes Demi lich is 48hp to 31mana a tick. However the damage is rated as PvP damage, and so you only end up taking 2/3 of it, or 32hp a tick. So a 56 Iksar sitting gets 16hp a tick plus 5 for ZHeart and maybe another 3 for AA regen, total 24 hp a tick. Now if you made friends with an equal lvl Beastlord you get Spiritual Radiance (5 mana/hp a tick) and Chloroplast (10hp a tick). Making 36mana and 7hp a tick. Not bad at all.

Man I still wish I could make my necro an iksar.....

But the morral here is this, if you a necro do the math next time your on. The lich line does not do full damage. I don't think shadowbond does either, but I haven't tested it yet to be sure.

Sorry but your numbers are wrong.

Flowing Thought 1 = 1 mana/tick
FT2 = 2 mana/tick
FT3 = 3 mana/tick
etc
FT10 = 10 mana/tick

Breeze = 2 mana/tick
Clarity = 4 mana/tick(L29) to 7 mana/tick(L48)
Clarity II = 11 mana/tick
Koadic's Endless Intellect = 13 mana/tick

So this is about the same as Clarity from a level 35 Enchanter.

Flowing THought I = better than nothing
Flowing THought II = Breeze
Flowing THought III = nice, but not clarity
Flowing THought IV = not in game yet (that I know)
Flowing THought V = low lvl Clarity (lvl 32/33)
Clarity II = best there is... but stacked with Flowing THought V = 16 mana per tick... very nice :)

the #'s after the FT = the amount of mana per tick added.

Why do any of the gods drop multiple class items? There isn't a good roleplaying reason for it, it's gameplay only. If you went to the trouble of killing something this powerful you'd be fairly pissed if it never dropped an item usable for your class. Add to that the fact that most druids/rangers don't like spoiling their faction in PoG so it wouldn't make sense for her to have NO DROP items for just those classes.
Imagine it "Yeah, I'll just stand over here while you guys do all the work and take the faction hit, you don't mind if I loot do you?"
hmm.

Flowing Thought V gives you 5 mana per tick regen. It stacks with mana regen-type spells (eg. c2, PotG, GoB). It's difficult to tell if FT stacks with itself, such items are rare and the effect is hard to notice. I've had a choker of the wretched (FT1) for a long time. At 1 mana per tick it's hard to tell if IT's working. I'm sure that FT5 will be more noticeable. I'm hoping that as more of these FT items enter the game, we can get ascertain this stacking issue based on empirical evidence rather than supposition or hearsay.

Currently, only Flowing Thought 1, 2, 3 and 5 are fully enabled in the live game. FT 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 say "Increase Mana by 0." I learned that by looking at the live spdat.eff with EqCaster.

Commenting specifically on this item, Essence of Nature... I was hoping it was something for my druid. I mean, with a name like that shouldn't it be? /sigh

Personally I don't believe you shouldn't roll on this item just because your a wizard. Need before Greed looting is outdated and silly. As a 47 enchanter I prefer Can and will use looting. Just because it seems to be best for a particular class doesn't mean it sucks for someone else, and a wizzy gets just as much use out of this item as any chanter would. 15 cha is great but there is a reason that its flagged necro wizard mage enchanter, and thats because its the best wizzy off hand out there too. Classism in EQ revolts me and wizards have just as much a part in droping Tunare as anyone. Why should they have to wait in line for an uber drop just because some chanter could use it too?
RE: wow.. to whom?
# Dec 29 2001 at 8:25 AM Rating: Decent
No one would roll on this.. Guild officers would decide who gets it period. Not like your going to get many pick up raids on Tunare.. In the extremely unlikely situation of a Pick Up raid then yes, all those who would use it should get to roll..

Oh, no, a god doesn't drop a weapon that does 32000 damage/tick dot/lifetap/manadrain weapon what's all/all and goes on your little toe, it sucks!
My god people. Look.. Flowing Thought V.. stacks with c2/protection of glades/bard mana regen.
ANY caster could make MUCH use of this.
Personally, as a chanter, it is BADASS.
Lots of mana regening, goes in secondary, with epic in primary hand.. that's another ton of cha and int, freeing up even more slots for resist/etc gear.
Really good resists on the 3 saves it gives, good mana/hp, and decent ac.
If you don't freaking like the drops, don't go there. Go play diablo2 and use a trainer to make a weapon that kills everything in one hit.
If you think it's not any fun unless you are ungodly overpowered, and have zero risk when facing anything, you must never have even thought of trying a physical sport, eh?
Come on, this is a GREAT item, and I think you need to .. hell, do something more constructive than bash any 'uber' item that comes on web sites.
Perhaps you're just jealous or something, that you'll never get it. who knows.

*breathes* ok, I feel better now.
