What lvl does this proc at?
# Feb 26 2003 at 11:44 AM Rating: Decent
I have this item and also the Earring of Purity. Does anyone know what lvl it procs at. And don't just try to guess unless you know, I have it when people try to bullcrap around. If you don't really know then don't reply.

When does it proc.
# Nov 22 2002 at 5:14 PM Rating: Decent
I've been wearing my Forest Loops for about 15 levels and I just got one of these at 45 and it won't proc. I bought it for the stats (paid 1.5K) but the proc would be nice (so I don't have to cast that last healing spell to counteract the effects of a poison dot).

Shaman can wear both the cure poison and cure disease earrings, however I find this one much more usefull for fighting wyverns in SF as my pet gets constantly poisoned, and I dont have to eat up a spell slot for it. The earring that casts spirit of scale is nice to for making long runs shorter, but dont cast while its in effect or you will be running non-sowed. The stats are nice as well. These will be probably the first upgrade a WIS caster sees in the earring dept. unless you quest for a Ivandyrs Hoop, which is very nice earring, even w/o the 6 charges of 150 hp lifetap. I paid like 1800pp each for mine, going rate was 2500pp each at the time. Great deal and the cast time is the same as the spell. Click gear rules.

killed iskar trustee and got this off him, chanter named rainy onluclin server won roll and gave itto me, since i still had forrest loops as a 57 cleric. Very thankful she gave it to me, and i never complained about not getting it. iskar trustee is deeper in mines but not too hard of a kill.
VERY useful

I dont know why you would think these are bad earrings. Earrings alone are hard to come by, and usually awarded to tanks for AC, or INT casters. Most of the clerics I know are still wearing crafted, or forest loops.

These are awesome because of the hp/mana. Earrings typicly have very low stats on them, so 35/35 is a high rating. Also click effects are priceless in their own right. These spells are a pain to pull up, because they are so rarely used. It so much nicer to pull down a quick key to use the earring, rather than lose a spell slot.

Nice mana upgrade

Guys once you hit 200 in wis you need to get mana items ..these are Very nice earings to those who have the wis to play with.

Agreed. I have 242 wisdom now on my cleric, and I'm still wearing boring old 3 wis crafted earrings. At level 60 and below 200 wis, 3 wis is worth 36 mana. Above 200 wis, I dunno.
So instead of 3 wis = 36 mana, I get 1 wis, 35 mana = 47 mana. Plus, I get 35 HP, a couple AC and a right click effect.
What you may not be considering is that this is an EAR slot. There aren't that many attainable ear items that are better than a gold jasper stud. Throw high-end raiding zones out like ToV and SSra, and you're left with a couple drops in Maiden's that I've yet to actually hear of anyone getting, and these in Chardok.

At level 60 with 200+ wis, a 3wis earring is worth 10-15 mana. These earrings are probably the best droppable cleric earrings.
RE: Nice mana upgrade
# Nov 18 2002 at 2:14 PM Rating: Good
Here is the Mana formula as I have been led to understand it. 0.2 times your level times your wisdom (up to 200 wisdom) and 6 mana per wisdom above 200. so a 35 mana earring is the equivalent of about 6 wisdom.

My wisdom hit the 255 cap a long time ago so extra wisdom on items has absolutely no draw for me. I look for mana first and foremost then Resists/HP/AC or other stats but Wisdom is useless to me.

CHARDOK?
# Nov 27 2001 at 10:10 AM Rating: Decent
I agree that the effect is very usefull. Hell i would love to have something like that. Alas won't work for a druid. Should be a upper 20s lower 30s quest or something for the stats. Maybe a camp off of some mob, or a drop in a lower to mid level dungeon like Najena or Paw. Do they make a similar version of this item for druids?
Space saver
# Nov 17 2001 at 11:45 AM Rating: Decent
As a cleric this would in my opinion be great for keeping a spell slot open for myself anyway. It would be very handy when soloing. Plus then i don't have to wait for my shining star of light (awesome quest for low levels) which i used until 20. Flame me if you must, but they always put in something in high level zones that, for lack of a better term, just don't make a lot of sense.
How Useful?
# Nov 13 2001 at 9:30 AM Rating: Decent
Okay this item is nice for the fact of having the counteract poison and yes it is a shame that druids aren't allowed to use it but Do you think that this should be attainable to a lower level PC? I mean +1wis, +2 AC and +35HP/MP seems that it would be on a MoB in Najena or a little lower level Dungeon. Just seeems like a lower level item than 50! --my opinion and they're just like A**holes --everyone has one!

Um reality check here...... WTF are you doing? You are doing the same thing you acuse other people of doing. What do you actually sit at your computer desk waiting for a response to your flames so you yourself can spend another 5 minutes of your life to write a response?

What gives you the right to decide what someone can and cant do? It obviously troubles you to no end that somebody is posting on these forums but yet you find and irrisitable fascination to do the same.

So Get your head out of your wife's *** take your kids to Mc'donalds and forget you even saw this webpage. Because you obviously enjoy bringing missory to others you self righteous ignorant spore of a baboons *****

Now what would really impress me is if you found the sense of control not to respond to this post. I know its in you somewhere. Seeing as how that it is a waist of prescious time.

So in closing i would like to say please for all that is good I hope you are venting on this board and not on your wife and child. God help their souls. Because if this is the true indication of your actions IRL then you my friend are the the one who really has no life. Dont spread the disease of your hatred. Grab a hammer and take out your (sexual?) frustrations on your Computer. Maybe then you can feel you have a purpose in your pathetic life.
Ps: crack the window, the air is getting musty in your computer room.

Counteract poison and the like aren't spells that are ever memorized. This is a great earring simply for the effect.

Doesnt it seem lame to give casters and Item like this. I mean I play a cleric, the item looks cool, but I can cure poison. Why no Rangers or Druids... who have a bit weaker healing and curing. OR even like classes that can not cast at all. They are the ones out in the middle of no where, and no cleric around, that need items like this.

Besides it looks like it would be a ranger / Druid Item. All nature loving :)

There is also a toss up there, would you rather have an EARING that raises a stats or possibly even RESIST poison. Or a charge Item?

Kind of a toss up. Good stats... a resist poison would be cool. I till think Rangers and Druids should be able to use this. It would be handy to both.

Don't feel too bad. There's a very nice "Earring of Twisted Leaves" that's DRU SHM only. Same stats, effect is Scale of Wolf.
RE: /sigh
# Nov 12 2001 at 2:23 PM Rating: Decent
Yes, clerics are left off on the Earring of Twisted Leaves. Of course, Scale of Wolf is not a cleric spell. Counteract Poison is castable by druids, however, so making this a cleric/shaman only earring seems a little arbitrary.
This earring rocks for...
# Nov 10 2001 at 12:48 AM Rating: Excellent
duels and PVP. Counteract Poison dispells Tashan debuffs, so your MR wouldn't always get screwed by an enchanter.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 09 2001 at 10:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Oh wow... unlimited charges of Counteract Poison... on a PvP server this would rule (and presumably for duels on PvP- servers), as anyone who's ever been tashed would know. Sure clerics get cure poison anyhow, but honestly, who keeps that spell memmed? This is a sweet, sweet earring.

This and the Earring of Purity (exact same, except the triggered effect is Counteract Disease), are both dropped by the Iksar Trustee down in Chardok a tunnel or so away from the Herb House.

Off-hand, I would say this is the rarer of the two items, but in about 7 kills, the iksar has always dropped one of the earrings, (5 disease earrings, 2 poison), so it is not difficult to get a full set.
Very nice indeed

I'd love to have this; Currently I'm using an imbued ivory golden earring or whatever, something like 4ac 4wis and 4sv cold, on one ear.. The other has the halloween ear. I would lose 3 wis, and even though with my current stuff on (mostly AC stuff, started with 80 wis though), the extra HP would mean more cannis and the +35 mana more than makes up for lost 3 wis.. And then of course there's the mana-free Counteract Poison =)
Never used the spell itself much, but would be great if you accidentally EBolted/VoTSed yourself and didn't have time to mem the spell =)
Usefull

Very nice earrings. Extra mana and hp after you've maxxed Wis. A little AC, and you can cast free Counteract Poison. I personaly can't see these becomming all that popular, but (if a druid could use them) I'd definaly love them.
Too bad you can't wear two. :)

Meirril

p.s. anyone know what dropped this?
