You need warmly faction with Brood of Di`Zok.
All sarnaks in Chardok are on this faction.

The other faction, Sarnak Collective, represents all Sarnaks outside of Chardok.

Hardly crap; there are much better rings out there and I'll be doing the quest to get the later items rather than this one, but +45MANA and +1INT is a decent upgrade from a velium fire wedding ring. Shame about losing 4AC, but as a Necro at level 51 I'd rather not get hit to begin with.
RE: Wake up People
# Mar 09 2003 at 5:44 AM Rating: Decent
The point of the quest is not the first ring. The 2nd ring is nice, but the 3rd ring is where the interest really comes from.

Ring 2: 5AC, 5STA, 2WIS/INT/CHA, 85HP, 45MANA
Ring 2 Effect: 5 charges of Aegis of Bathezid (25 pt damage shield). Rechargable by handing it back in to the herald.

Ring 3: 12AC, 5STA/MR, 10CR, 100HP
Ring 3 Effect: Aura of Battle (2 health regen per tick, 10 attack)

Regen and extra HP are king for Necromancers, hence the basis for the interest.

the 3rd part u refering is not a ring but a wrist, arm, or shoulder slot.

The Spirit Wracked Cord is not a ring. Also you only use the Regal Band of Bathezid as a turn in to help prove your devotion to the Sarnaks, the Queen returns the ring to you with the Cord. Which happens to also be a very nice item.

Being a wizard with 265 int with all resist gear on. I have no compunctions of dropping my resist rings off for these. Mana and HP are what I'm looking for in all my slots these days, and these quests aren't too shabby. I'm max KoS chardok right now from many Chardok Royals raids (I love AEing down there *cackle*)

Ah well, time to start farming the skins and salts, huh?

Hi there...

ever played a Necro, my friend? This mana/hp ring is just great for a Necromancer. My opinion is moronic? As you wish, urs is narrowminded.
Cool hybrid ring

By my reconning, this is about as good as a 6ac/65hp ring for the hybrids. I prefer the AC of the player-crafted ring myself.

It is a quest from Herald Telcha, the little sarnakette at the zone in. My faction is not high enough yet. Just say "I serve the Sarnak." If your faction is high enough (and rumors claim there is a minimum level for the quest), you get it for asking.

Dex?
# Nov 08 2001 at 10:01 AM Rating: Default
The folks saying that necros need dex and that dex affects successful spell casting, you do realize that "channelling" is the skill that determines successful casting yes? You do realize that "channelling" isn't determined by your dex yes? You do realize that if you get PLed and never improve your "channelling" that if you have a 300 dex you still won't be able to cast JACK yes?

Disinformation runs rampant I hear yes?
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 13 2001 at 5:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Dex affects the rate at which your spells are interupted when you are hit. Higher dex, less interuptions when getting beat on.

As in the above post stated. Dex does NOT affect your ability to cast. It has been stated on numerous websites that this is a myth. I have no idea why people still post that dex has anything to do with spell casting. Your channeling alone determines your ability to cast while being hit. My cleric has very basic dex and I have seen an improvement on my ability to cast through getting hit as my channeling went up. Dex does however help bards in their song playing. I'm not exactly sure how because I've never played a bard. I can only rely on what reliable sources say.
RE: Dex?
# May 28 2002 at 6:04 PM Rating: Default
Me believe that dex adds a modifier to channeling. So both your channeling and dex matter, although channeling matters alot more.
i.e. Your ability to cast when being hit goes up as channeling goes up and the chance to successfully cast through being hit is greater with higher dex than when lower dex.
RE: Dex?
# Jun 24 2002 at 4:49 PM Rating: Excellent
The only thing that Dex effects on a caster is criticals. And since only Wizzies can crit before lvl55, dex serves little to no use to almost all casters.

Exactly. Somewhere, sometime, someone misread "dex helps bards not loose a note" to "dex helps all casters not be interrupted while being hit". And rumors spread better than truth.
RE: Dex?
# Nov 21 2002 at 8:39 AM Rating: Default
Dex doesn't help bards not miss a note, I've got 255 dex and I still miss a note from time to time singing higher level songs, Just like fizzling for casters, missing notes is determined by the appropriate skill, E.G Evocation for nukes, percussion for selo`s. Dex for bards has 3 main uses: One, it increases accuracy on attacks. Two, it increases proc rate of weapons (that's why I have 255, epic procs a lot with 255 dex). And Three, it helps build combat skills.. when there are still skills to be gained. The fourth use is for critical attacks, but that comes after level 55 AA.

not that i know off...but for those necro's that arent pansies dex DOES affect proc rate...i know i know, necro's shouldnt be getting hit...but if youre fighting indoors with not alot of space...you know your tap tanking...and if you have any proc weapon at ALL (or a weapon with a good proc aug on it)...use your retarded level 7 spell "Vampiric Embrace" for an extra 86 damage (thats at higher level obviously)...

Example: Delightfull Orb of Forgotten Magic, 320 damage proc + Vampre Kiss Augment (75 damage heal) + and Vampiric Embrace (86 damage heal) = 481 Melee Damage...hope that gives some of you people incentive to not be so scared and actually get up there and fight a mob

This would be a good necro item anyway, 1CHA, who cares? And CHA does NOT affect how often Fear is resisted.
Second: Reason this is a good necro ring: 45 mana is good for any caster, obviously.
65HP can be liched into about 65 mana at higher levels (like the level you'd need to get this item)
1INT is good any day, when coupled with 45mana.
AC2? Well OK, I confess I don't see much use for that on a necro.

And lastly, who says this is only for Necros? I would love to have this on my Pally. HP and Mana are both good statistics on a hybrid.

The quest NPC (the Herald) that gives this item to you if your faction is good enough (warmly+ I believe) has been perma-killed on all the servers.

Only reason I can think of that this would happen is because this ring should of been NO DROP. (possibly it works like the coldain ring quests... each one getting better and better)

its a ring, a small piece of metal, ofcourse it weighs next to nothing, thats is no reason to say 'this is a monk item' Monks are always screaming that every piece of low weight equipment is for them only :(

now wheres the tank rings?
# Oct 30 2001 at 6:54 PM Rating: Default
i think tanks need something cool for a ring... right noy we got jagged bands and some other stuff, but casters really have the nicest jewelery(IMHO) It would be cool if they made something like "enchanted brass knuckles" that might even have like a dmg bonus!(i think EQ needs items that have a dmg bonus that can add like a few point dmg bonus to every succesful hit or something) or like in diablo, they have items that do like +30% dmg(i think it ups your chances of hitting for full damage) I just think that EQ needs to break out of they mold they have set for themselves and come up with new and radical ideas!
stuff like... on going storylines(AO was supposed to have that, but i left too soon to see the "story line")
oh well enough rantings and ravings... btw, thats a nice ring!

LOL, a tank asking for items that will increase his abilites. Um, melee classes have been getting stuff like this since the game was released. FBSS was the first haste item. Did you see any items that allowed a caster to cast their spells faster? Nope. Not until luclin comes out.

So quit yer dreaming. You've got items to improve your class. We casters still have to wait.

*Ears perk up* Did you say "Casting Haste"?. Ummmm /Drool *imagines the casting SLN with 20% haste*...../giggle :)
RE: now wheres the tank rings?
# Oct 31 2001 at 12:23 AM Rating: Decent
Actually they are gonna do an extra damage thing on weapons in luclin. Verant is calling it Bane damage.
It depends on the weapon. It may be a sword of insect bane, only doing extra damage to insects ,or it may be a hammer of fire , foing extra damage against creatures weak against fire.

They have implemented this already in a minor for with the cleric line of summoned hammers.Summon a hammer and youll see bane dmg:4 or something like that on it
RE: now wheres the tank rings?
# Oct 30 2001 at 7:43 PM Rating: Decent
Well, true. Casters don't get to cast faster, but in the world of Everquest, unless you have 100k or more in equipment, uh.. you pretty much cry, whine, and sob when you play say..a warrior. Or... a rogue. Or sometimes even a monk.. Cleric..... druid......... why? Glad you asked.
Ya see, one of my alts is a 47 iksar monk with better equipment than many raid level monks (who are guilded, and have been inspected by myself during raids) and well, they just don't typically have fungis and tranquil staffs and runed bolster belts galore, etc.. Melee's, in Everquest (unlike Dark Ages of Camelot and many other games I might add, Verant) MUST HAVE SWEET equipment, OR, this is what they do..

>>Logging on
>>character selection screen, entering realm
>> /shout Level 52 warrior looking for group!
>> ......<10 minutes go by>
>> /shout Level 52 warrior looking for group!
>> .......<10 minutes go by>
>> /shout F U ALL <camp>

Now, as a caster you can solo in a reasonable manner to very high levels, get nice loots, do all sorts of stuff.

So, yea, that guy has plenty right to b*tch and moan.

BTW, the chars i used to twink my monk are 51 druid & 51 necromancer, so don't go preachin to the choir kid, druids suck too. Perma-medding, no group havin, piles o Sheeeit
RE: now wheres the tank rings?
# Oct 31 2001 at 5:18 AM Rating: Default
Maybe you should stop shouting "/shout F U ALL" before you log... That could be one of the reasons why people donĀ“t want you in their group the next time you log on.

Just a thought.
Necromancer and Shaman
# Oct 30 2001 at 6:13 PM Rating: Decent
I don't personally play a Necromancer or a Shaman, but I imagine this would be great for those over 200 in int/wis. Especially for Necromancers.

Not only does this ring add 45mana (not to mention 1wis/1int/1cha, laughable, but it is still there) but it also adds 65hp. That 65hp translates into even MORE mana when shamans use canibalize and necro's do their mana/hp conversion spells.

I know if I was a necromancer or a shaman over the 200 mark in int/wis (which I might add is an amazingly easy thing to do, especially if you allocate your points well in creation) I would want this ring.
Usefulness
# Oct 30 2001 at 6:10 PM Rating: Good
Keep in mind that every point of wis/int after 200 is suposedly only 1 mana... 206 wis, take away plat jasper ring, 200 wis... -6 mana. Put this ring on, 201 wis. +46 mana. Need I say more? Oh yea, the cha would be nice for charming classes (ent, druid on rare occasions), and everyone loves a little extra hp.

Interesting, but not sure ultimately how useful it would be. Be nice for a twink tho', and if you pick one up as a drop, it allows you to spend that money on something else your twinkie needed, rather than some other ring from a jeweler.
RE: Hmmmm.....
# Oct 30 2001 at 9:59 PM Rating: Decent
This ring is very good. It is tough to find a ring with that much HP/Mana combined on it. And HP/Mana are all that high level casters are looking for on encounters/fights that dont require resists (which is a majority of fights).

Actually as a pure caster ring it is pretty good, that is a good amount of hit points and mana on a ring later in life when you aren't looking for INT items anymore.
RE: Hmmmm.....
# Oct 30 2001 at 6:10 PM Rating: Decent
Agreed.

It's rediculously easy for my Cleric to get to 200 Wisdom, so this ring would be very nice to have...

Going to make the Jewelcrafters mad though...
RE: Hmmmm.....
# Oct 30 2001 at 10:42 PM Rating: Default
They really won't/shouldn't be too upset, and if they are, they need a nice kick in the ***.

This ring is dropped, so they can only be pumped into the economy so fast. Jeweled rings can be made by the dozens. The rings from TOFS haven't touched the economy of player-made rings one bit.
