Perhaps the sole purpose of this weapon is to use against Cekenar's brother Zlexak :p

Okay maybe if you are like the suckiest level 60 warrior to ever live you would use this, but even if you are in some tiny guild you should still have better. For god's sake get a Blood Point! It has the same ratio AND a lifetap proc, not to mention it can go in primary or secondary. That Blood Point only costs about 5k and it owns this weapon that drops way in the back of NToV and is hard to get to if you aren't in a serious raid guild with 40 level 60's there. Hell get a Sebilite Croaking Dirk, 10/18 with stats warrior useable. That weapon also owns this Claw and it's getting cheaper everyday. My guild raids North regularly and on our last run through two of these claws dropped, needless to say they were destroyed. At the level where you are killing this stuff this item is pure **** plain and simple.

Lammy DLY at Max Haste = 10

Cekenars Claw DLY at Max Haste = 10

You do the math.

Although I agree that this is definitely not good enough to drop from ToV, you have to remember the whole Max Haste thing. The minimum DLY for any weapon is 10, even at max haste. You cannot get lower than that. At Max Haste, any DLY from 10 to 24 becomes 10, regardless.

This weapon really should have a proc.

There is no max haste, actually.

there is a max haste ( i think 100% at 60 ,without bard songs) BUT there is NO minimum delay. weapons will go faster then 10 delay with good haste

at the lvl you can get this you can easily get a lammy (9damage 19 delay and other stats) the only thing that makes this worth while is the sv disease that is nice if it wasnt no drop it would be better cause you could sell it in EC for like 10-20k and at the lvl you can actualy go and kill dragons +100HP isnt much its a nice little buff but hey its like one hit off of one of those dragons
RE: I dont like
# Jun 09 2002 at 8:21 AM Rating: Default
yeah this weapon is kinda lame for the mob it drops off of, i wouldnt use it in NTOV, i prolly wouldnt roll on it at all and actually 100 hp is about 1/10th what these mobs hit for, some hit for 500 some hit for 900 depends on what named, so 100hp isnt gonna save you in ntov but for soloing 100hp is nice, wish they would have thought about this weapon before they made it go live, but we all know verant makes some total garbage drop off uber mobs just to watch us ***** and moan.(I think they like to see the arguments and laugh) =/

Doesn't AC on items give more than they say (it's almost just a base number that you get AC off of?)

I only ask because I've put on items and gotten more AC than they said they give (that's how Warriors get AC up to and beyond 1000...I don't their armor actually adds up too 1000, does it?)

So, based on level or however the formula is (ie, I put on a Brass Earring...I had a blank ear slot from selling a Forest Loop and it was the first thing I found to fill it...well, it's 2AC, but gave me 4...)

So, would this give a higher AC? Say, around 25...I dunno, I'm just posting this cuz I thought of it seeing this and I'm bored...

btw, the HP is nice...::shrugs::

Lots of things effect this, but your right, nobody has their real AC counted up past 700, I can pretty much assure it. What does happen is...
Start with Base (naked) AC, it goes up with your level, and you "Defense" level. On my 32 Pally my AC is almost 300 when im naked.
Now to your slots, Im not sure exactly how this works, but from my experience, and someone WILL flame me cuz they think they know everything, but from my experience each inventory slot adds a certain amount of AC as long as there is some AC in there to start.
For Instance - I put an item with ANY AC into my offhand, and I get 6 more AC than it says I do. It is the same with my Primary hand, same AC effect as long as the item in the slot has 1 AC on it. My BP now gives off 7 more than the normal AC on it, my helm 4, earings/bracer/neclace/rings/arms/boots give off 3, and Im not sure what the other parts give off. People will try to say that it is % based, % being based on level, but I get 4 ac added to my helm Slot weather im wearing a cloth cap or a DW, so I'm not sure. I have noticed this goes up as you level up, and may be effected by Defense skill. This is one reason that any items even with 1 ac that normally would not have any, such as first slot are better than others without it, but this weapon really isnt that great, especially for where you have to get it from, not bad for a Dual weilder but a Pally and SK wouldnt want this at all....

I happen to know that a naked level 60 warrior fully weighted down ( read: 1 agility) has exactly 600ac. May be of some interest.. *shrug*
RE: Probably wrong, but
# Jan 15 2002 at 11:31 AM Rating: Default
I believe every AC on an item gives in reality 1.5 ac. So 2ac = 3ac etc...
I dunno, but I had the impression this is more on high ac items.
Also, your Defense skill adds ac, regardless of what armor you are wearing.

No your right.. for me my old cobalt gauntlets (25 ac) hace me 39 ac... everyone get it higher than the weapon says monks even more than everyone

are you guys INSANE?!?!?!!?!?!? I play a lvl 60 warrior on Zebuxoruk, i would LOVE this, this weapon is AWESOME, nice dmg/dly (not the best but it works) 15ac, hp, sv disease, its awesome, dont go saying warriors wont use it JackOfSpeed, because im currently using a Defiance and Frostbringer, this could take over my Defiance any day
Its the worst
# Oct 24 2001 at 10:35 AM Rating: Default
This is the worst weapon(that i know of) that drops in ToV. Its off the weakest dragon, so it makes sense. Hey, but at least its good for all those disease dragons out there..i think zlandicar is one, but i am most likely wrong
Awesome!

I would love to buy this weapon to twink my level 1 shadowknight that i haven't created yet! If your on the GimmeStuff server send a tell to Ubartwink, i'll buy this from you for 1000kpp. I'll even throw in a pristine scarab carapace for the trade! Hook it up!
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 23 2001 at 11:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) love d hp buffer
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 23 2001 at 9:48 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) AC whatever. Once you are fighting named ToV mobs you realize that if you have 1600ac you are going to get owned instantly without defensive disc. 100hp makes it an ok weapon. dmg/delay is weak though.
You are wrong
# Oct 24 2001 at 10:13 AM Rating: Default
We kill dragons np sometimes without defensive, it's annoying, but hardly impossible if your tanks are decently equipped. Killed tormax without using defensive not too long ago just to make the fight somewhat more interesting. 1600 ac > 1100 ac with defensive.

This is a nice weapon, but for the level required to attain it, its not so great. Its primary only, so rogues won't use it. Paladin's and SKs hopefully have better than this at the level required to attain. Warriors at this level wouldn't want it. Rangers wouldn't want it cause the ratio sucks for them.
A bard might want it, but if it were any better than his regular primary the difference would be marginal.
The ratio is sub-standard for this level. Its the same as a harmonic dagger, not as good as BoH, not as good as a melodious truncheon, barely better than Sionache's Partisan, and the bard epic is of course, much better. But none of those weapons weigh anywhere near as much as this. Bards don't typically have 100+ STA, so weight is an issue, especially when you're hasted all the time. Going from a weapon weighing 1.5 to a weapon weighing 3.5 is a big deal for a bard. Granted, the AC and hp are kind of nice, but chances are that this would be a neat weapon to use when you first get it - and after that, it would be a standby weapon that sits in your bank until you need the additional 25 disease resist. I'm actually a little suprised this is no drop, but it *does* come from ToV.

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 22 2001 at 7:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey, if I were a ranger, and I were looking for a weapon better than that Climbing Pole, I'd go for these. 10/17 or 10/21 is not much of a big diff, esp. with a haste item involved, if you have one. Plus, the 100hp is good, and 15ac more than makes up for the 25 less svPoison. And hey, if yer grouping with a Shammy, just have em put Talisman of Shadoo on your group (40-50 svPoison, I believe). Problem solved.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 22 2001 at 9:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) 10/17 and 10/21 is a rather large difference. 18 delay is about the lowest you're gonna get for non-uber people. For a tank, 17 delay is far preferable to even 18 delay. The extra AC is nice but at this level you've probably got 1150-1200 anyhow... I'd definitely take a 17 delay over 21 any day of the week. I use a Defiance over Frostbringer for that exact reason, 19 vs 22 delay.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 22 2001 at 7:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Buy a Clambermans Climbing Pole for 10k 10/17 +50 Disease +100hp.
RE: This sucks
# Oct 22 2001 at 7:04 PM Rating: Good
I think the +15 AC would be a deciding factor if you would want this item or not.
RE: This sucks
# Oct 23 2001 at 1:57 AM Rating: Decent
Unless you are a Rogue, and then the 1HS *PRIMARY* only would be a deciding factor. Sheesh, 100HP is nice but why even put a Rogue on this item if it is going to be Primary only? Otherwise it would be an ok offhander (although only ok for the level it can be gotten). Not a Rogue alive is going to swap a backstabber in and out for a 10/21 weapon at this level.

cheers,
Celeris
