Too bad SOE hasn't ever heard of a one man band.

forgot to update my sig
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 27 2005 at 4:08 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I gotta say it makes me kinda sad that nobody wants to play a bard to their fullest capacity. Ive always swapped instruments in and out of my primary/seconday slots, mostly because i enjoy playing my class the best that i can. In my opinion, bards that desire an instument mod for all instrument types on their worn equipment arent playing their class correctly and should start a new character. This horn is the best there is, and any bard who thinks its worthless is shortchanging their group and their guild by a very significant margin.
Way to Phuckking common

yeah pretty healthy drop rate on em.....even i have one in bank to tease my bard alt ><
Why did they even make this instrument

Right and who in there right mind swaps instruments in and out while meleeing and having a 4 song twist? this item is so useless that i let it rot instead of spending minimal raid points on it. plus since only the main tank will be getting whacked there is no way that the damage shield from the amp will compensate for the dmg you would do normal hell if my offhand (Jagged oynx staff) crits for max once at 361 it will have already surpassed the extra 15dmg per hit of the ds. plain and simple this item is for looks, if it was worn brass id be drooling all over it but since its not, /worthless.
effect useful? :-\

When you have the horn in inventory and try to melee with weapons that got procs on em the song with stop running as soon as you proc once. So basically you could just from the stats replace a normal sung song with this horn in your inventory slot. But with that downside its practically impossible to hold a 3 or 4 song twist since the procs are handled as if you were stunned or something. I do not really expect to see this fixed IF this is a bug. Tho i just guess so, same goes for the earth drum by the way.

First of all you have a few things to learn about twisting leeteq.
1. Instruments must be equipped in order for their effect to be used. Just having it in your inventory won't help you. I may have misunderstood what you stated in your post.

2. Proccing doesn't interrupt songs, it just makes the cast bar disappear. If you allow your song to finish after a weapon procs you will see that your song does in fact take effect.

Sorry Myrrialie you are missing the target on both your points.
1. Instruments can have a clicky effect that is usable from inventory (this one does, so does war drums of the rathe, as does lute of flowing waters).

2. The casting bar disappears on sung songs, but the song goes of as normal, clicky songs if the cast bard disappears it stops the effect from going off.

This item is really useles in my book unless you don't have the song normally, the idea of equiping a brass instrument is pretty silly in 99.99% of the cases because if you want the mod for a brass song you probably want it more for a percussion or a singing, and you can't equip a drum and a horn at the same time.

only real use for brass instruments is on pvp servers. They are used to boost evarj's lost composition(sp)for mana draining your oponent. with this equiped you would drain about 1k mana evertime the song is sung. It completely ruins they're day : ) especially when used in conjunction with ancient mez.
out of charges?

Mine has effect: Warsong of Mastreuq on it, with a cast time of 4.0 secs - but when I try to click it says item is out of charges! What charges it?

You must have gotten one before they were upgraded. You have to petition to have a GM swap it for a new item. The cast time is 3 seconds btw, not 4.

to brass or not to brass...
# Mar 09 2004 at 5:53 PM Rating: Default
Ahhh, another brass instrument that would actually be worthwhile to wield in a raid or during trials. This would bump the damage shield bards pump out in their warsong of zek, therefore increasing the total dps of the group (always have a bard in MT group for stacking DS) and/or raid.

A delicate balance it is for a bard to decide whether or not his melee will do more dps than the extra points given to his damage shield for the MT with such an instrument... A tough decision indeed.

Without pslam this gives another 72ds, twisting amped pslam with a mage fire shield and clicky can come close to 200ds.

A skilled bard should be able to juggle weapons/instruments while twisting songs. The amount of melee damage lost for the split second the horn is equipped is compensated for by the increased Damage Shiled and Attack Rating granted from teh Warsong.
nice brass insturment
