Level 60 ogre warrior here too try and shed some light on the hp issue for you guys,
First i have a unbuffed completely nekid hp of 2705 i think it might be 75 but i have a base stamina of 150 i think hp is modified by your base stamina thus an ogre warrior gets more hp per level and after level 30 there is a hp bonous not sure if just for warrior i think all malee, then at level 50 + there is another hp bonous for everyone.
Too put it short when i got all the gear that id like too have someday i figured it out for me having 4510 hp on the dot...
But as far as monk's worring about warriors i good monk friend of mine using his primal velium brawl stick beats the tar out of me on a regular basis 8x monks being second too rogue in damage out put makes up for there lack of stamina and hp . Have too take into account that the levels 1-50 warriors get Taunt Slam ( if big race) kick as skills thats all we get in those 50 levels slam being the only class specific skill but you have too also be race specific too get it with out the use of a shield.
(im talking about use able skills IE: Feign death mend wounds flying kick back stab)

Level 60 Warlord
Brell Serilis

PS: Btw trust me ogre's earn those extra hp and ablity not too be stunned from frontal attacks Neg 15 % exp for kills kos too anything and to everything There are places we just cant fit unless shrunk which is a pain in the butt if you dont have any shaman friends around plus were generally big fat stupid and ugly and mostly not liked very well .But you wont here many complaints about us when were maintanking hehe.

Can someone please clarify something? This isn't exactly to do with just this weapon, but here's my question -- Hit Points, and how we get them.

I've noticed that Ogre Warriors have **** loads of hit points, but why? Yes, stamina grants more hps, and warriors get more hit points per level than a druid...or a monk...rogue...or, well, anyone I'd imagine. So that's to be expected and all.

But this is what I do not understand. My level 47 monk has a stamina of 82. With that 82stamina and like 50hps off items, or whatever it is exactly, my monk has about 1106 HPs unbuffed -- just his equipment, stamina at 82, etc. I know level 38 ogre warriors that claim to have like 1500..1600...1700 hps. I don't get it?! Okay so say that ogre has 160 stamina, and gets 8 hps a level more than me. So subtract 9 levels from my current level of 47, and thereby taking away 23 x 8 (23 hps a level for 8 levels. That would take away about 184 hit points from my monk leaving him with 922. Now, my statistics may be off so I may need help there as well, but let's just say that I get 3 hit points for every 1 point of stamina and I add 78 points of stamina to my monk at level 38, giving him 234 hit points more.

234 added to 922 would equal 1156 hit points at level 38 with 160 stamina as a monk, roughly. So I estimated that a warrior gets about 8 hit points a level more than my monk does, so figure we're basing these characters as if they were level 38. So 38 x 8 would equal 304. So take 1156 and adding 304 leaves me with 1460 hit points if I were a level 38 ogre warrior with 160 stamina, roughly. Right?

But this does not seem to hold true. Take that, add to it 16 levels to pump that bad boy to level 54. So 16 x 31 (because my monk gets 23 hps a level and Im estimating an ogre warrior gets 31 hps a level, thus 8 more per level than me)..
so 16 x 31 = 496. So if you take 496, add that to 1460, you come up with 1956. Now since this is for a level 54 warrior lets just calculate another 300hps from uber gear and another 30 stamina points giving another 90 hit points so 390 hit points more. So now this level 54 Ogre Warrior should have roughly 2256 hit points.

Now -- The part that does not pan out -- Every freaking Ogre warrior I've ever spoken with claims outrageous hit point caps. I forget his name now, but on Cazic Thule I was just grouped with a level 54 Ogre Warrior who had some PoG armour, and some SS armour, and then whatever else. Nothing super super uber though. He boasted that he had nearly 4200 hit points.

I've heard many stories of well equipped level 60 warriors with between 4000 and 6000 hit points.

The numbers do not add up, at all. So wtf gives?! Someone please clarify wtf is going on here, and while you're at it, please tell me all melee characters get a HP bonus post 50. PLEASE! lol

I'm not exactly sure what the deal with Ogres is, but here's a couple of facts I do know.

At level 60 a warrior gets 6 HP / 1 STA. For example if I put on a 5 STA ring, my HPs go up by 30 HP. This is true for ALL level 60 warriors, regardless of race. For warriors this number of HP/STA goes up about every 10 levels by 1. Starting at lev 1-10 with 1 sta = 1hp, etc etc.

Other races scale down from there. Pure casters have somewhere around 3 HP/STA at lev 60, priests a bit more, hybrids more, etc.

As a lev 60 wood elven warioress that started with a fairly low STA (I was created during the time when it was told STR was best stat to put points in - doh!) I have 5804 HP with raid buffs.

First off, I have played quite a few characters and this is what I have seen.
It seems that different races get more HP's per level than others as do different classes. It also seems that naked STA might play a role in how many HP's you have. (I.E. two warriors same race with same dressed STA, but different naked STA might have different HP's from STA)
It also seems that the amount of HP's gained per level is NOT an even rate. As I watched my HP's go up by about 10 one level and then about 50 the next level with my Druid.

As an example of the fact that different classes get different HP's per level, I have created 4 characters on Magelo. All of them are Ogres with 140 STA and are level 60. There is a beastlord, shadow knight, shaman, and warrior. Here are the links, check the differences in HP's out:

Beastlord - http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=148677

Shadow Knight - http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=148675

Shaman - http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=148678

Warrior - http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=148676

That's about all of the info I can think of for now.

I asked this of my guild also and some misunderstood and laughed thinking I was trying to prove my iksar monk can out tank an ogre warrior and all sorts of non-sense.

Anyways, they spit out "well maybe an ogre warrior gets more hps from being an ogre" as well. Heres the deal. Nobody gets 50 or 60 hps a level. I'm going to create an ogre warrior tonight and level him up a few times just to be 100% certain, but, nobody gets 50..60..70hps a level. The hidden racial HP modifier is something I can certainly believe, but then if so what is it? It still can't be 10 or 20 hps every level just cuz yer an ogre, because then you'd be getting 50..60 hps a level. LOL! So at about level 30 you're typical ogre warrior would have something like 1600hps. That..just... well, that just doesn't seem realistic. I just spoke to a level 39 dwarven warrior in my guild who has 110 stamina, and at that level she has 1496 hps.

Theres NO WAY an ogre 8 levels LOWER will have 4 hps MORE than a dwarf, just because they're an ogre. That's just absolutely absurd. Let alone 104, or 204 hps more.

So.. someone that really, really knows and can honest to god actually straighten this out for me, please post.

This is off topic, but oh well.

If a player is smart when they create a orge, no points go into str but instead as much as possible into sta. Leaves a level 1 orge with no equipement with about 140 sta. Add some equipment and pretty soon you have 160 sta without much work.

Now i'm a level 51 iksar warrior, unbuff I have about 2050 hp with 110 sta and about 150 in hp items. At my level I get about 4 to 5 hp per sta point I raise but at lower levels its about 1 or 2. At points in the game (like hell levels) they modify the amount of hp you get per sta point causing a good jump in hp for a level raise. I kinda remember a 100 to 200 hp raise from 49 to 50 but only about a 40 hp raise from 50 to 51. And if you compare a ogre warrior to me, they have about 250 to 350 more hps I do at the same level.

Also if I remember correctly, the hp to sta modifer changes at 20, 40 and 50. After 50 i'm not sure.

Scath, the iksar warrior.

Have you thought about stamina relationship between classes? maybe warriors get more hp per stamina point than monks. also it may very well not be an even rate of change either. of course there is the possibility that orges have more hps as a race
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 21 2001 at 8:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You wussy rangers.. hehe.. I'm 51st lvl ranger and have a steel hilted flint dagger and a venomous axe of the velium brood. Talk about procing like a ****. Forget casting your Jolt.. you will drain your mana pool hehe. I'm not saying I can take all the hits that a high lvl mob can dish out.. but I know how to hit my ac and hps up.. and if you have yourself a GOOD warrior in the group the mob only turns on me once or twice the whole time. I've seen some of you silly rangers running around with your epics and still wearing IVY ETCHED... you're going to die very quickly ROFL. Remember people... it's not justt he weapon that makes the character.... it's the uber gear your're wearing too..

# Oct 20 2001 at 8:11 AM Rating: Decent
With 17 delay and 7 weight, your stam is going to be dropping pretty fast. Have a look at the iksar berserker's club, 18 delay 8 weight, does the same thing. But then again, I've never been to ToV so there might be equipment at that level that helps reduce this problem.

Good luck :-)

Im glad that they finally lowered the bar of 18 dly. This weapon isnt the greatest for a warrior, or any class, but for me, id take this any day. My pierce skill is at 105 and with a fast little puppy like this, ill be piercing skill of 220 in no time at all. Ever get one of them battles which your weapon raises like 2 or 3 points and its quite a big jump. Well im gettin images of pierce going up by about 15 each battle with this little bugger ;)

As a Shadow Knight, I cast enough to taunt a mob, this would just maximize my damage output when I've got a shield in the off hand. In other words, this is a great weapon for SKs, as well as Rangers. I don't know that a Paladin would make as much use of it, but then, I've never played one so I don't know what they've got that could hold a mob's attention.

This is not a weapon. It's a perpetual motion device. In real-time, you'd cut like Edward Scissorhands with one of these. You could run a landscaping business, and as a one-man-show you could do 10 yards in a day.
If I got one of these, I'd go solo in some level 20 dungeon like splitpaw lair - just to show off. I'd have to show this off if I got one.
Nice for all, but highlight the RNG.
Its a good thing this gives sta..

Stamina Problems?
# Oct 17 2001 at 5:23 PM Rating: Decent
Well, according to some other posts I remember reading, if you have stamina over 100, your stats (including attack speed) are not affected besides the fact that you can't jump anymore. Godly weapon for the likes of me =)

Clarification:

You do not suffere penalties if your stamina is Equal to or Greater than 100. My monk is at 100 exactly and suffers no penalties.
RE: Stamina Problems?
# Oct 18 2001 at 12:03 PM Rating: Decent
Just looking for clarification on stamina? Is it 100+ that you do not notice effects or is it at 100 that the apparent effects go away? I still am pretty low in the game and have only 88 sta and no means to increase my stamina up that high to test it out.
RE: Stamina Problems?
# Oct 17 2001 at 9:45 PM Rating: Default
You are exactly correct. With a STA of over 100, the only negative effect you might notice is the lack of ability to jump. No decreases in attack speed, or any other kind are apparent.

So, it's good that it has a +10 to STA, but you should damn well have your STA at or above 100 by the time you can loot this. And, since it's NO DROP, no one will be able to equip this at a lower level.

I totally agree with Roxas Nitehowler. This is an awesome weapon for rangers, and no taunting proc to give it a poor quality for a ranger. I'm surprised rogues can't use this, but it seems verant is grouping WAR PAL SHD RNG together a lot on weapons :)

I think perhaps acumen+shiss might be able to keep up. Maybe not even then.
