Got one of these in Bazaar for 20k. I was a little reluctant at first but after looking at the stats for a third time I hauld *** over to the trader and forked over my plat. I've never seen one auction before and not sure if its a new item or if its been nerfed to No Drop status. Either way I'm happy with it. I have it on my 60 warlord, gives more hp than Solstice Earring but not as much as Mosquito Leg. Can someone clarify if its still dropping as a droppable earring or if its currently No Drop.

thanks

Hitpoints are king

***** mana
***** dex
***** int

All of those mean nothing next to hitpoints. I go below 40 mana maybe once every 2 weeks but I get hit everyday /shrug

this can be very true..
depending on what kind of grping or fightin your involved in.. if im kiting i want mana ***** hit points passed what i naturally have
if i am grping in a 50s zone i want hit points big time ***** being able to cast alot cause as a wizzy my main job is to hit once.. maybee twice if need be for finishing.. i dont need a higher intellect and i dont need mana points.. but when something in chardok comes up to me that has a haste item on them and i have 1000 hit points.. i can die in seconds.. hit points are big time wanted in that situation
if im on a raid though.. i dont care about hit points mana or int.. i care about resist gear only.. let my clerics n shammys do the buffing for health.. a lil aego .. point is if im on a raid to tov and i over cast.. im going to die in seconds.. we all know this.. so ***** mana and int. ... dont waste your time on to much hit points either cause the things your going to be fighting if they attack you are going to be able to kill you whether or not you get 300 more hit points on items.. use the clerics n shammys to buff you that what they do..but.. almost everything you fight in a 50s raid will do some sort of casting.. aoe, summoning.. whatever gettt yourrr resistttt onnnn~!! i try to get magic fire n cold over 190 before any buffs.. then i have my pet, spells, n guildies to do the rest.. yes it helps .. it keeps you alive.. makes a 1000dmg hit turn into a 150dmg hit.. if the lvl is appropriated.. anyway.. good luck to you guys~~ ohh one more thing.. dex.. only get this for crit status.. dont worry about hit status.. use the appropriate spell .. if your a wizzy get those lure spells out n use them!.. dex is awesome to have i have a full set of dex gear.. but its mostly for fun resist hit points n int are key for me as a wizzy.. lil dif for other classes.. but thats my take as low hit points caster =)
take cares!

Hard

This place is quite hard. Did it with two and a half 50+ groups including 60 shaman and cleric, 59 ench and 59 monk. Was MA as 54 warrior and the arch inspector, the officer and the third guy we pulled (warlord i think) were completly owning me. Even under evasive I was a mana sponge...
We had 7 ppl down after pulling them (chanter (sight) wizz, shaman, druid, cleric, SK and pally).

Arch inspector was red to 54 btw and lvl 60 shaman slow was resisted. We had to split tank them.

Was quite a hellish fight. Take care repop past the bridge juste before the room is FAST ! So clean it, try to pull it 2, maybee 3 times. If you miss your tag pulling (wich is VERY difficult at this place), wait repop, kill and start again.

Btw, this earing is very very sweet :) Helps me a lot as DE warrior ! Bye bye sta problem :) !!

Umm No

Tanking=Taking mob MELEE damage to prevent others from taking damage. If an Ench gets beat on, they aren't TANKING, they are getting BEAT ON. Huge difference, they don't call it tanking if everybody can do it, otherwise, they should call it TAKING DAMAGE instead. Tanking does not just mean taking Mob damage, cause then they can just AoE blast everybody and you can say, " Oh, everybody is tanking!" Huge differences

I agree with Anonymous, just a bit off though. Yeah he's right that whomever is able to contain is probably in a high guild, high level, and has good equip. But, STA only increases a certain amount of HP depending on your race. So if you are a caster, the earring could give you 10-30hp PER ear, that really isn't a lot and to just get these because you want HP would be kinda dumb. 60hp isn't going to help you much, and consider that if you're an Ench, you'll have a Cleric in your group at 51+, so EXP loss is barely noticeable. The point of HP items is too live longer, and not die. If you're a caster, you're dead on the spot anyway...
RE: Ear
# Dec 01 2001 at 12:45 AM Rating: Decent
I am a 60 chanter and it is more than just 30 hp per ear... you are forgeting it comes with 35hp as well and i am getting a bit more than 2 hp per sta so figure roughly 25hp for sta and 35hp of earing comes to 60 hp per ear... that is 120 hp total. that will actually put me at 2k hp unbuffed. and as for dying if a mob beats on you. I have more than once been able to get a stun off and a quick mez with only 100 hp left due to a bad pull. that extra 120 hp can make the differance when the cleric is mid cast of the heal. not to mention i like to Main Tank mobs sometimes for fun... cya bye )

Level 60 Enchanter here too. 2 of these earrings would put me at 2000+ hps WITHOUT BUFFS also. I guarantee you I'd be able to last longer than your average enchanter due to my high hps and high AC (750ac 2205hps self buffed atm). Remember high stats come little by little, and every little bit counts, even if each piece only gives 24hps over the item it is replacing. If you upgrade every slot with an item that gives 24hps over what it's replacing you'll be adding 480hps. I can add, CAN YOU?
RE: Ear
# Oct 17 2001 at 10:10 AM Rating: Decent
Sta gives you hp depending on your class and level, not race. At lvl 60, warriors get 6hp/sta, sk/pallies 5hp/sta, rogues/monks/rangers/bards 4hp/sta, clerics/shammys/druids 3hp/sta, and necros/wizzys/mages/chanters 2hp/sta.

Wrong, casters get 2.4hp per STA
RE: Ear
# Jun 01 2002 at 4:47 AM Rating: Decent
The numbers Ruldar gave are a good basis when you want to work on your HP gear upgrade, but they are a bit off, at least for monks.

At 57 i already get 3.9 HP per STA point, and at 60 it will be more near 4.2 than 4.

Level 56 mob in room with about 8 or 9 other 56 mobs and at least 3 or 4 more under 56. Is near the bridge where Keeper of the Bridge pops. Take a left after first bridge, is 4 mobs. Left of 4 mobs is the room with all them in it. Have fun pulling =)

Maybe it's just me, but aren't Bangles usually worn on the Wrists? That suggests it's a mistake and will either become a wrist item or change its' name...
RE: Bangle?!?

Yes and no, ask any woman...bangles can refer to either bracelets or earrings. Doubt you will see a change to either its name or slot allocation.

RE: Bangle

Just another word that people start using incorrectly and then it becomes popular. Originally, a bangle was a Hindi bracelet or anklet, usually decorated with glass, that was a solid hoop. It had to be slid over the hand or foot to be worn. Now, the jewelry industry has mis-used it to refer to just about any dangling jewelry.

banĀ·gle n.

American Heritage Dictionary:
1. A rigid bracelet or anklet, especially one with no clasp.
2. An ornament that hangs from a bracelet or necklace.

Meriam-Webster Dictionary:
1 : a stiff usually ornamental bracelet or anklet slipped or clasped on
2 : an ornamental disk that hangs loosely (as on a bracelet)

Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary:
An ornamental circlet, of glass, gold, silver, or other material, worn by women in India and Africa, and in some other countries, upon the wrist or ankle; a ring bracelet.

WordNet-Princeton University:
bangle n 1: worn around the wrist for decoration [syn: bracelet] 2: cheap showy jewelry or ornament or clothing [syn: bauble, gaud, gewgaw, novelty, trinket, fallal]

There, so you're both kinda right.
All melee
# Oct 16 2001 at 1:02 AM Rating: Decent
Well frankly, this is a good item for all melee types. This is at least a +60 hp item for any high level melee with the stamina and all, and probably more (for example, a 60 warrior would get 95 hp from this, and a 60 bard would get 75, assuming their staminas are not already maxed).

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 15 2001 at 9:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this is designed for monks i believe. With mend, the higher the hps the monk has, the better the mend can be and monks have naturally marginal sta so the stam is awsome also
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 16 2001 at 5:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) jesus shut the **** up already, my main IS a monk and I'm sick of this "monk item" crap, just give it a rest already

I would certainly agree that monks can benefit greatly from this item, but I would hesitate to call it a "monk item", alone. I can see this being useful to Rangers like myself as well, as we are on the low end, hit point wise, and the STA bump is very respectable as well. The type of player this would probably have the most benefit for would actually be small/low sta race tanks, such as Wood or Dark Elves. If you are a class that is using a heavy melee, where stamina loss becomes an issue, you could really use +10 sta in a single slot, as it would get you closer to the magic number 100, when you cease to have negative effects from Stamina loss.

Not saying its not for monks, just saying it has application outside that specific class. :)
RE: Well...
# Oct 16 2001 at 7:44 AM Rating: Default
lol

so this will go to melees that have less than 100 stamina from deep in chardok? Heh, any melee that could loot this item (50+) that doesn't have 100 stamina already shouldn't be playing. Weedy classes shouldn't melee.

2 please.

I think you're missing the point. Getting a 10 STA bump in *1 slot* is the key to this item. This could potentailly free up one or two other slots to put resist gear/other stat gear in.

It's exactly like pure casters trying for high INT/WIS items, so other slots can be freed up. Except with STA, the absolute magic number is 100 instead of 200.

Thats my take, anyway. Not high enough to go get it, yet, but if I was, I would.

The real magic number for "high" end malee characters is 205 stamina. Everyone would like to get 205 stamina unbuffed so that once you get the Rightous Health buff you are maxed at 255. Anything above 205 might be better off spent on HP gear, unless of course you have no slots with only stamina. A lot of higher end items have both +HP and +STA.

Well
# Oct 15 2001 at 8:06 PM Rating: Default
The earring would only benefit by certain classes. Casters? Not much use. Maybe a ranger, or rogue. But consider the fact that whomever gets this earring is probably 51+, and is in a high level guild. So they would probably already have some good earring. Btw, the earring dropped for a group member by a something something Spiritaider, or the like. Sorry, I forgot the name
RE: Well

"Not much use." ROFLMAO, are you joking? As an Enchanter I would wear 2 of these over anything else I can think of that dosnt drop off some uber NTOV mob. I don't really get how anyone could say this isnt good for a Caster, I guess you've never played one. At level 55 10 sta is roughly 20hp on me, Thats 55 hp on ONE ear. Enchanter's tank A LOT, if you havn't noticed.
RE: Tanking?!?
# Oct 16 2001 at 10:56 AM Rating: Decent
ROFL

I really wouldn't call what Enchanters do "tanking."

"Getting beaten into hamburger waiting for a taunt after mez wears off"? Yes. "Tanking"? Hell no.

Still doesn't change the fact that they could USE the extra HP though.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 16 2001 at 1:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) And there is a difference between tanking and getting beat on? If so, Id like to know.
