Does anyone know of an item that provides ultravision that can be used by a paladin? I have a human paladin that can barely see in the dark even with a greater lightstone. Thanks.

An ornate helm mold can make Jaylia's helm of the valiant, has UV, See invis.

Crown of King Tranix provides Serpent Sight, Infravision, not quite Ultravision but does well enough.

there are plenty of them around, usualy for sale in the bazaar.

If you've got a bit of plat to throw around, Buy a Tacticians Bulwark, Gomdurig, Delightfull Orb, each of which can be turned into a tribute master for about 24-28k points, and usualy cost around 7-9k (on terris thule).

With 25k points, The ultra vision tribute buff costing 10pt/s Per 10 Minutes, you'd get (25,000 Minutes) 7 Days, 8 Hours, 40 Minutes -=PLAYED TIME=- of UV for about 8k or so.

Ofcourse you can also add in other tributes, My paladin has i believe Flowing Thought V, 41% Haste, +150 hps, Vengance X, and Faerune, which costs somewhere around 150pts per 10 minute block, or in refrence to the formentioned formula, 1 Day, 3 Hours, and about 40 minutes of PLAYED TIME, per each Gomdruig, Delightfull Orb, or Tacticians Bulwark i've "donated"

at this point i've personaly used about 100k Tribute points, thats starting from about a month after Gates of Discord was released.

got a lvl 14 necro, and I actually rather like this weapon. max hit at this lvl is 21, but right now does she need to do more dmg? Not really, dots do most, and pet next. When she gets to higher lvls, I do not expect to have to melee, but for now, I am really enjoying this weapon. after dmg caps goes off, will see how I feel. =)

I have a 38 wizy and have been using this weapon since lvl 25. It has it's pluses and minuses. The good news is it regularly hits at 36 points; the bad news is it misses frequently and the chill sight doesn't work until lvl 39. Still I wouldn't trade it. When my char. is out of mana and the MOB is under 5% it does the job. Aenadyen

get a shaded dagger, same damage 21 delay due to cap. When twinking always use high ac and a nice ratio weapon with low delay. You don't want this weapon for twinking cause you can't take advantage of the damage. Get this for farming silks/pelts at the higher levels

If you look at that fellas sig...hes a WIZARD. Hence no pet. So he is correct its good for farming silks and pelts. :)

Wizards get a sort of pet. They're called "Familiars," and are completely useless for farming. If you want to farm silks and pelts with a wiz, just use PB AE nukes. Run around with SoW/JBoots, use instant click debuff stick to grab aggro from as many spiders as you want, and when you have enough, one AE nuke will kill them all. Meleeing is just for fun for most casters.

Well , i got one of these for my ench , 9th > LOL , disappointing yes ,limited to 13 points of damage (20 th level cap ? )I'll keep it till then and see if i will hold onto or sell . Yes i have lots of AC ,i.e. tank enchanter ( legs Ac 11 , arms Ac 11 ) and every HP / MANA item i could find . I have a 32 nd rogue and know that Never could this be for rogues , just too good ( even with the delay ) I even went looking for a 2 hand piercer in case that loophole was left open , > even a junky 2 hp bought cheap would be better in damage than almost any 1 HP you could find for under 5 K so for now i stick with Sturdy Grimling Mining pick from Luclin > 12 27 , paid 2 PP for it off vendor ( non magic , but when i need magic switch back to Crystalline Spider fang 10 22 plus lotsa proc ) max BS at 32nd with mining pick 177 unbuffed , 112 str Night all

I thought to pick one of these up for my 14 necro.. thought wow.. i remember when i had a 24 damage weapon.. i hit the crap out of stuff...

I got one for around 1k for her. am quite disappointed with it.. granted i am saying this and hurting my chance of getting rid of it, but she does max 21pts damage with it. Not near good enough with that delay.

BUT... when her skill is up over the 101 or so mark... i am willing to bet she does much much more damage with it. is not for twinks... twinks need decent damage but speed speed speed. that is where your damage will show itself.

High lvl camper casters... this is a sweet dagger. saves on tons of mana when you can hit them for close to 100 and they can not hit you for near that. or to finish them off fast if they decide to run.

twink weapon... no.
decent weapon for 30ish caster who has kept their skill up... yes.
sweet weapon for someone who wants to learn when to use... most definitely.

I pulled this out again for the fight with the Kromzek Captain in Western Wastes.

With str around 160 or so and Visions of Grandeur on, my max hit was 86.

He is in the Vault (or Treasury). His PH is "a Sarnak Manager". He spawns right next to the Vaultmaster (guy in which you can bank with)

And as the person below stated this is a proc not right click. Which makes it a worthless PoS except for anyone but a lowbie twink (and even then there are much better). Every class that can actually use it has their own UV spell (or can make Cold stones). It's literally crap. /rude VI

I just got this tonight on Rodcet Nife, and try as I might, I can't get it to go of with a right click. I goto EC and melee a green skel just to check, however, and it procs right off. Also hits for 48 dam tops (for a 55 necro with perhaps 75 str). And yes, the effect is just Chill Sight, the ultravision spell. Would have made much more sense to have it be a click effect, but it isn't.

I play a rogue, many actually, since I can't find another calss that is so much fun. My first reaction at this weapon being a caster item was "WTF" why would a caster need this??? but you pep who criticise everyone elses opinions are silly. If a rogue thinks they could fight and live using this, then i guess they know better than you. I have 4 rogues, different races and equipment, and they are all very different, believe it or not. different stats make different characters. so as some warriors may not be able to out taunt you, so others can. just stop slamming eachother people.

Not that i think it should be melee usable, but from where it comes from, assuming its the rare drop of the mob, i would think it reasonable for this to be a melee item (for off hand). No backstabs please. =P Although as a primary the ratio is too slow

Hehehe, I like the thought of backstabbing with this thing. Right now, I use an 11 dmg piercer mainhaind. I get high backstabs in the 270's unbuffed. When I use a 13dmg piercer, I get backstabs in the 310-320 range unbuffed. That's a 40dmg increase in bs with + 2 dmg increase to my weapon. So, taking this into consideration, I calculate that max bs for me would be.......630. WOOT!! OMFG!! Make this for rogues plz plz plz Verant I love you plz make this for rogues!! Sorry, I know it's not meant to be a rogue weapon, and that formula is all outta whack anyway, but it would be cool, even only for an hour, if a rogue could use this.

I am currently playing a mage and would NOT want this for a weapon: 1)as a caster I can rerely hit the broad side of a barn with any weapon 2) I would not give up the stats and saves from what I have currently 3)Monks and Druids should be able to use it too (LOL)

This item was never intended to be for melee.
It reads caster as user and the effect is just well for all blind races.
I have no clue why it has so good dmg delay ratio since no caster who can get it would consider to melee.
So it is another nice to have item from new Chardok that saves caster the need to free up a spell slot for a common used yet low level spell.

Just because you have no clue why a caster would want to melee, doesn't mean that they don't melee. If I got this litle pig sticker, I sure as hell would use it to do some damage. Anya's Quickening, Boon of the Garou, and this would make a rather nasty little combo and more importantly, go a LONG way to curing the boredom of chump camps like the Guardian in Seb.

Oh BTW, I am a 55th level Enchanter on Povar. And yes I melee. A Lot. I have yet to die from it, although I have gotten beat on some by it. Bu thte clerics gotta have something to do.

I am with you Slymie, I mele often. I am a 53 necro and i constantly beg the group for haste. I have a jumpy robe, use vamp embrace (65pt life tap at my level), and a procing weapon (usually my 48 point proc chaos flux). The great think about the procing, I dont care if i miss...i still proc. I cannot out do any mele type, but i still add an extra 300-500 points in a 1-2min fight. I get beat on too, but my bond of death takes care of that (as long as i dont hold the argo).

ok all you other rogues who say we need to be able to use this weapon your nuts first its slow as newborn ****, second two high backstabs with this thing and well we would become mob chow hell I use a 10 damage weapon and the only other melee that can keep a mob off of me is a monk, warriors no matter how hard they taunt the monk always try to eat me all I can say is thank good for evade.

First Off u get the agro because u have quik weapons... i remember when i was weilding a tombcarver <5/17> and i had something else quik...cant think of it right now... tanks couldnt keep em off me even with evade... when u switch to a <24/40> weapon its so easy for tanks to outtaunt u. Heh i doubt ya play a rogue or you woulda known this :) Backstabs do take agro but not as much as your constant melee.... besides verant hasnt let a rogue touch anything above 15 damage...what makes u think they will let u touch one of these? <no they wont even let u put it in the offhand because the rogue cap on piercing is higher then anyone elses in the game.>

Mr. I play a rogue... you must not reallyplay your rogue well, b/c if i had this option of a weapon for my rogue i would take it in a second. If you were an old time rogue you would remember weilding a bone razor and swaping in a Crys spear for the extra 13 damage w/o the delay. The same would be done here every time. The killer Damage from this would be well worth the effort, nevermind if someone with the higher level disciplines got ahold of it. As for the increased agro, the warriors in your groups should be able to keep agro even with this if your evading every chance you get, which i need to do now as is. So please if you really don't know what you are talking about don't generalize about all rogues thoughts.
PS I do know this isn't a rogue weapon this is just for the person above to learn a little

That's what evade is for...

It's not just the job of the tank to keep monsters off of the rogue, that responsibility is shared between the tank and the rogue. :)

bloody backstabbers think they can do more dmg over time as a corpse i guess

24 dmg backstab weap will get yer macho rocks off for one good backstab that causes a taunt so hard the mob wont leave you alone til yer dead. but being a burden on the healer isnt your problem til he is oom and the rest of the group dies shortly after your demise.

you guys could survive to do far more dmg with lesser weaps. use your head.

wow...mighty negative post from someone who didn't even look at the item! Unless I've missed something and casters can now backstab, this weapon won't be doing any backstabbing damage.
So please, before you get all negative and announce to us rogues "use your head" ...please... use your EYES first.

Never say never. Verant is capeable of anything with the new expansion coming out. Luclin either has to top the loot tables in Velious, or at least be as good. Will that mean a rogu stabber with over 15 dmg? Probably so - either that, or ridiculously low delays.
Those of you who played the beta game know that EQ is a very different game than it used to be. Most post-Velious twinks have better equipment than the beta superheroes who actually made it to the planes to get armor. Now people complain that alot of planes armor isn't even worth wearing. And they're right. Planes armor isn't even really a status symbol at higher levels anymore. As far as weapons are concerned, the game wasn't tricked out until Kunark and the huge amount of camping in places like OS. Uber warriors and bards had a pair of SSOYs.
Things have changed, and will be ever-changing until VI decides they've made enough money at this whole thing (either that, or until you all decide you've wasted enough time at it).

Well i hate to correct you, but just a few comments.

Planes did not open until a good bit into production, I believe around 6-8 month. Even with kunark, twinks would easily be better equiped than the superheroes from the era before the class specific armors (when rubicite ruled).

But to stay on topic. It is not likely that rogue piercers over 15 dam comes out unless they change backstab. The problem is that even a slow high damage rogue piercer would promote weapon swapping, and I believe VI does not consider that a good idea.

Some day there probably will be a 17 or 18 dam rogue piercer, but I doubt it is comming anytime soon. There is pleanty of room for improvement within current parameters, just think how uber a 15/16 rogue piercer would be.
