FYI, my 'chanter is carrying one again in his range slot

So basically, the whole series of the stonebrunt purification quests are now a waste of time.
Guess its time to clear those stupid daggers out of my bank, since I never got around to doing the quest part. Cripes, if it wasn't worth it before, is sure isn't now.

What is this item ACTALLY worth. I have the crystallized shadow dagger, and plan to do this quest, bur really want to know value, so I can decide whether to keep or sell.
It SEEMS like this would be very valuable, since +5 to all resists is a lot for the range slot, but the only posted price is 900p, which seems cheap for this. Heck, the +7 resist rings sell for that much, and they are player made, and therefore not rare.

If you go by total resists, this is the fifth or sixth best TRADEABLE range slot resist item in the game. Of course the resists are spread accross all types rather than concentrating on one, so it might not be as good for killing a specific mob, where you know the resists you will need up front, but great for dungeons with several caster types, where you face the whole range of dd and dot spells.
Like, say ... the Tower of Frozen Shadow :)

Posted: Oct 18 2001 at 12:31 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) These daggers are by no means common, and do not expect to pay less then 5kpp for these, these drop very rarely..(about 1 in 8-10 hours) so dont get your hopes up of just going in for an hour and walking out with this beauty. i've sold/traded a few of them away to people in the 'uber' guilds on my server, and they think they're very very nice for raiding. for every day use, unless your a chanty, probably not soo good. for every day you use should have int/mana gear on.

It can go in the range slot.....it just can not be thrown on accident. It's the silly way verant codes......
This is able to be placed in the Range slot. I got one for my twink Enchanter.

I was tempted to not reply to your comment.......but I decided to.....perhaps if you read the picture you will see the Range: 40.........yes believe it or not that does mean it can go in the range
someone finally did it, I spent a few days in ToFS hunting for this and gnome skin, got a full set of gnome skin minus the leggings but no dagger, gratz on getting it )
Hmm, my ranger had this for about 2 or 3 weeks now and I sent in the info back then. I think Alla doesn't like me or something. I've submitted 4 or 5 items now and never get them posted.
Oh well, its still nice for range slot resists when fighting casters. I've actually tried using 3 at once too. The resists are nice but the damage goes way down.

Use the Longswords (7dmg/27dly)scimitars (6dmg/23dly) or warhammers (7dmg/29dly) in primary and secondary. you get the same resists, with much better damage. This is the cream of the purified weapons, because of the range slot. Great resist item, but one of the weakest to actually use for melee.
