600 Plat On Veeshan
# Jan 12 2005 at 2:44 PM Rating: Decent
I bought one of these in the Veeshan bazaar the other day for 600 plat. My level 14 Necro twink likes it, even though he's not very good with 1HB.

It looks like one of the old-school wands, basically a yellowish rod with a jagged, 3-4 point top. Definitely better than the Shissar Dagger I was using :)
new info
# Jan 11 2005 at 3:09 PM Rating: Decent
Just fyi, looking at it today and it reflects that is not secondary only primary.
Picture?
# May 04 2002 at 10:24 AM Rating: Default
What does it look like? I have just started a Necro and he is shrouded in black ... SWEET ... He would look great with one of these in hand if it looks like a sickle. Thanks.
RE: Picture?
# May 29 2002 at 3:42 PM Rating: Decent
Not a flame, but why would a 1hb look like a Sickle??
Also might want a Scythe look, since a sickle is the little handheld one. The scythe is the Grim Reaper look. :)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 27 2002 at 11:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) a 10,20 weapon thats 1hb should ALWAYS include monks i mean wtf ever heard of a wizzy illing naggy with a stick Lol?
RE: WTF!
# Apr 09 2002 at 8:57 AM Rating: Decent
. . . but then again, when did monks ever need mana?

Really, just because casters get a weapon that we monks can't use doesn't mean that you have to complain about it. Perhaps the caster is soloing, the mob is running and they figure "Hey, let's work on 1hb!". (Not to mention there are only about 100 1hb items for monks, and only 20-or-so for casters)
RE: WTF!

If you look a bit more carefully you'll see a very powerful use for this item. Its for power leveling casters

duel wield?
# Oct 19 2001 at 12:26 AM Rating: Default
Ok lets say this wasn't a mistake. Maybe one of the things I could do as a druid when SoL comes out is put exp from my alternate advancement pool into Duel Wield. I wouldn't see this happening but theres always a "what if?" And a guy can dream cant he? Imagine a duel wielding druid with that and epic, man I'd farm *insert newbie mobs here* like theres no tomorrow! =P

Clerics can't hold in second hand
# Oct 12 2001 at 10:10 AM Rating: Good
Just an oversight by VI. If you can't dual wield, you can't put any weapon in your second hand. This is a weapon, unlike the Paw. It would be sweet to hold this in the offhand true! But not going to happen fellas ;)
dual wield
# Oct 12 2001 at 8:54 AM Rating: Decent

Casters don't dual wield, and I'm pretty sure that means you can't even equip weapons in both slots. You may be allowed to use some non-weapon book/cone item that's primary only and equip a weapon like this in secondary, but I'm not sure.
Why it is Secondary

This simply means that you can carry it around in your Left hand, not that you can attack with it. Kinda nice, means it's not so restrictive on when you may use it, especially if you already have an item that is primary only.
RE: Why it is Secondary
# Oct 14 2001 at 4:36 PM Rating: Good
Not to disagree totally and utterly or anything; but you can't wield a weapon in the offhand if you don't have dual wield, even if you are a class that gets it eventually. Any Dual Wield class (Like your 35th level Ranger?) can't even hold a weapon in the offhand until they GET dual wield. Classes that never get it can never hold a weapon in that slot unless it is one of those odd 'no damage but still called a dagger' items.

Ah, why am I bothering... Viva DAoC! Adios VI! I have run my last Corpse Run for you! HAHAHA!
RE: Why it is Secondary
# Oct 12 2001 at 2:10 PM Rating: Decent
Please correct me if you can give an example, but from my experience, anything that has damage & delay listed can't be equipped in the secondary hand of a non-dual-wielding class.
RE: Why it is Secondary
# Oct 15 2001 at 1:36 AM Rating: Default
I will correct this. I am a Shadow Knight, we do not get duel wield. I used Envy in my secondary slot for extra fire resists when I started raiding Naggy. It has damage/delay, AC but can be equiped in the secondary slot.
Envy...
# Oct 30 2001 at 11:46 AM Rating: Decent
Sorry, wrong. Envy is really just a shield that happens to look like a dagger (just as the Shield of the Slain Unicorn is a poor Dagger that happens to have some AC...). It has no damage/delay:

RE: Why it is Secondary
# Oct 20 2001 at 11:11 PM Rating: Decent
I have a cleric only weapon with prim and sec listed. I cannot equip it in secondary slot. I have a 2hb shovel listed with prim and secon on it, again I cannot equip it in secondary slot(why 2hb has sec listed I have no idea).

Think it depends on the item/class of user. Is many inconsistencies in item equipability and listed slots. Is exceptions to every rule.
RE: Why it is Secondary
# Oct 24 2001 at 5:50 AM Rating: Decent
As for the shovel, you can never put a 2-hand weapon in your secondary.

As for your cleric only weapon. Since you didn´t write what weapon it is, I´m guessing it could be a two hand weapon too, and that would solve the mystery.

If it´s not... Well, I dunno ;-)
Duel Wield
# Oct 12 2001 at 4:11 AM Rating: Decent
OMG. A cleric can weild this. Wow. This is a perfect wisdom type caster weapon because of the extra armor class. I must say I delight in the idea of getting this weapon.
Why oh Why?

Why do they continue to make items for casters that are primary/secondary and no pure caster can duel weild? Anybody? Anybody? This item doesn't completely uck, but it'd be nice to be ble to offhand some of these items, even though I don't have duel weild.
better than a druid epic
# Oct 11 2001 at 11:32 PM Rating: Decent
it owns a paw and is superior to a druid epic if your an ac freak druid like myself (and yes ac matters for a druid - im pushing 1100 ac buffed and i still get knocked around in the new chardok)

or... you could just use it for the stats. many secondary items can't be attacked with, some can <ever fight with a stein of moggok back when it proc'd heal?>. just cause you can wield it in your off hand doesn't mean you have to have dual wield.

I heard someone mention BST
# Oct 11 2001 at 6:39 PM Rating: Default
Hmm, I don't know about BST, all beastlords get to use is 1hs and piercing and a shield. no duel wield or 2handers.
Troas..
# Oct 11 2001 at 2:59 PM Rating: Good
Nothing is obvious in the game of EQ... dont assume too much.
off-hand
# Oct 11 2001 at 2:54 PM Rating: Default
Heh, obviously this is a sign that once SoL goes live clerics can purchase Dual-Wield with their post-51 alternate xp...
No...
# Oct 11 2001 at 3:20 PM Rating: Default
Or maybe they're just having it set to that just in case they add another class that can duel wield. or maybe BST can use them, but they just didn't code it to get people like to you make blind guesses
Duel Wield
# Oct 11 2001 at 2:39 PM Rating: Decent
Hmm either melee eh...guess that would be nice if any of these classes could wield a weapon in thier off hand
RE: Duel Wield
# Oct 11 2001 at 7:14 PM Rating: Decent
it can be held in the secondary as a shield, but will not be used in combat for priests and casters
