Got one from a slippery sludge in LDoN Raid Miragul's Menagerie: Frozen Nightmare.
a noc darklurch in natimbi.

Everyone has LoN. You need to click the EQ menu icon, click on Legends of Norrath and it takes you to the game interface where you can open your pack.
Uh .. indeed .. found it! Thx .. so the activating of the booster wasnt senseless gg

I really want to know if anyone has found one of these solo. I dont mean in a boxed group just plain solo. Please if you have speak up.
Lol, I had one drop off of a Gloomingdeep Slave Warden in the tutorial...
Yep, fighting the undead on the third floor in Crescent Reach I believe, don't remember the exact mob that dropped it.

I had one drop off of a Ry'Gorr Miner in Crystal Caverns. He was easily soloed.

I had one drop in Natimbi off a named hynid near Qvic zl. I solo'd the mob on a 65 nec. Had a (gimp) loot card for another booster pack, no loot in second.

Droped in ashengate raid instance .. so yes can drop from an instance.

418 frogs & assorted other mobs dead in Sebilis. Cons were lb to db to 3 55 druids. AE dd's used and pulls were done with a 75 enchanter...no drops.

I can dispell the humanoid rumor.
We had one drop off a scoriae hornet in Burning Woods tonight. Just a Mage starter deck but it was still a drop, there were two of us. A 55 Druid and a 38 Necro, light blue to me, red to him.

From information obtained from the veteran's lounge about the issue. Developers said they would ONLY drop from humanoid type NPC's. So that would pretty much be your mob set. Any green con and above humanoid is supposed to have the ability to drop a booster pack or starter deck.

nowhere in soe forums does it say only humanoid models from a dev, that thought is "suggested" by just random players but nowhere does it say that from a dev. Post the link to the post your speaking of if you say its true because i searched every single post since lon came out and nothing. Please pay attention when you read and try and spread false info.
Not sure which mob...but had it drop off of a trash mob in CoA the other night.
Had a booster pack drop form a drake in an instance of the Nest (Origins of the Curse mission). It dropped from about the 20th mob we killed in there.
I didn't win it though, so I don't know if there was a loot card in it.

Leading one to believe that it doesn't drop from any mob, but there's some criteria. So far, from this thread, it seems that only humanoid style mobs have dropped the backs (Kobolds, ratkin, FC Shades, lizardmen in CT). I doubt it's that simple, but that's a place to start.

someone on BB said that they had one drop off of a mob in nerthbian lair...IIRC, there isnt any humanoids in there...unless u count the guards...but this person was about lvl 18 or so, and unless thy were gettin PL'd, i dont think they could take out a guard...but, i have been wrong before
Got a boosterpack from a gloomingdeep kobold, so it seems to drop of anything that gives exp and any level.

A guildie had a booster drop in EQ 1 off of a light blue mob, so it seems to be true so long as it is exp giving a booster will be on its loot table.
The booster packs are pretty self explanitory, but does anyone know what the actual cards that get you in game loot are called?
When you use the booster pack item in game, you get a pack of cards in LoN. When you open the pack, you may get a redeemable card that, once redeemed, you can claim in game. Look in LoN under "redeemable items" in Collection Manager> Jump To. they are called Everquest Loot Cards

From what i understand it can be dropped off of any mob and the drop rate is supposed to be about 1/300 non-trivial mobs.

No... It only will drop from any non-trivial mobs and the ratio is 1/300 apparently.

During raid in Direwind, clearing trash to do Pyrelord. Cannot remember the mob.
One dropped for us from a trash mob last night clearing for Pyrelord too. Didn't loot it, so not sure what it dropped from.

Don't expect a list when any mob can drop it.
Going to agree with Hidron here, it can be dropped by any non trivial mob. Add entire beastiary to drop info? or just put this information under comments /shrug. Rarity should be changed to super rare, or at least rare

We don't know yet which mobs it can drop from, nor do we know the relative rarity yet. We list drop information for any-mob-within-a-level-range items like spell pages/words/runes, so it seems reasonable to list it here as well. More drop information never hurt anyone. Also, just because it can drop from a lot of mobs:
1. The set of mobs may be large but still limited, in which case we want to track the set so people can try to obtain the item.
2. There may be an unlimited set (anything within a certain range qualifies), but even then, tracking the mobs that qualify helps us define what the qualifications are.
In other words, if you have drop information for one of these items, please submit it.

I think I read somewhere on the LoN forums that in EQ1 any light blue mob or higher can drop. In EQ2 the mob had to be green or higher iirc.
