#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 9:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) MMMk, clerics? On raids, YOU get all the money items (spells, low items, gems .etc), the group usually pays YOU for the gems for your symbols. YOU are the ML for groups and get to keep all the words, runed, gems that drop. I'm pretty sure you don't spend thosands of plat on gems.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 11:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Er, walk a weekend in their shoes. A weekend raid can easily rack up 100 peridots used. This is with Aegolism, mind you, with over twice the duration of Marzin. And in our guild clerics get squat at raids. All cash items go to the raid leader.
RE: thosands of plat huh?

Well, in guild Clerics and Enchanters should be provided peridots for raids... odd that yours doesn't. As well, don't try and tell me that a Cleric leaves OS broke, that just is not the case.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 8:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Seems like the ring from the the Hobbit/Lord of Rings series. It gets heavy and makes you invisible.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 6:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Is it just me or does a RING that weighs "3" pounds seem a little heavy?
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 6:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WTH is this good for? all the classes that can use it can already invise themselves. What a jif on us clerics again. We pay thousands of plat to keep our groups symboled and get the blame if our members die from lack of symbol. Guess we are still doomed to spend more plat on invise potions.

Larrikan's Mask. Drops in OS, and has 10 charges of Superior Camoflage. My wife's cleric keeps one on her for emergencies. By the time that not being able to use this ring would be an issue for a cleric, you can easily obtain a Larrikan's Mask for personal usage in emergencies. Btw, she currently spends around 100pp a week on gems (maximum), she's up to the 10pp gem per cast spell, but we find in general its not necessary to use the highest Symbol spell save in high damage encounters. If your spending "thousands" of PP, then perhaps you should tone down the usage, or else use a cheaper version of it. Any of your groupmates have a problem with it, let them pay for the gem themselves.

You do know that a stack of peridots costs 210 plat right? How's your wife getting by on 100 plat per week? Playing 2 hours per week?

Let's say you have a raid on Vindicator. Aego your group. 65 plat. If you're the only cleric? Aego 3 groups. 195 plat. If all goes well, and noone dies trying to pull, yay you only spent 195 plat for a 30 minute event.

On to ToV. Expect the puller to die. 65 plat on the puller. Your group, 65 plat. The wizard that won't stop nuking 100 plat.

If a cleric isn't giving it their best, they should be playing a secondary healer. Druids and Shaman.

imho any good tank that goes on a raid or some, and expects to get symbol, brings his own gems.it's just a matter of being civilized)

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 7:33 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) That's the frickin' point. It's not giving a new spell to another class (which is exactly what giving this to clerics and paladins would do). Stop ******** and go rezz someone, Jesus Christ. Be happy clerics can be whiners and still be wanted in groups.
ugh
# Oct 10 2001 at 5:55 PM Rating: Default
yet again, they give clerics the shaft.

sigh.

guess i'm back to paying 11pp a pop for unstackable, uncertain duration invis potions...
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 6:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RE: ugh
# Oct 10 2001 at 6:35 PM Rating: Default
What he means is that there is one good point about being a cleric when you have to travel across a dangerous area: you don't have to look for a rezzer 8)
Honestly we are a very desired class, we do have best AC available to all caster classes but only mages have less defending or escape spells available.
RE: ugh
# Oct 12 2001 at 3:09 PM Rating: Default
Who cares about that. Wow, you have one disadvantage, no invis for you.

Now go look at how many wisdom items and mana items are available to clerics and not to shamen/druids. Saying that they're getting the shaft because they can't use ONE item is more than insulting. I'd rather lose the ability to invis if it gave me such high AC and EASY 200 wis + mana.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 5:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Casting time, if any, on the effect?
No Clerics, look at the picture...

Compare the picture with the description above. They replaced the Ranger with Cleric. Thats the fault.

Of all the classes that can use this item, I would say that the Clerics deserve it most.

All of the listed classes can cast Invis, except the Cleric.

clerics cant use
RE: Finally!
# Oct 10 2001 at 3:58 PM Rating: Default
there seems to be a mistake at the top when it includes clerics in the classes that can equip the item, but are right click proc's limited only to the race/class that are listed for equipping? im not sure, someone enlighten me =)
RE: Finally!
# Oct 10 2001 at 4:26 PM Rating: Default
Generally, an items' right-click effect is limited to those who can wear the item. There are exceptions: Guise of the Deceiver (old one before Mask of Deception), Holgresh Elder Beads, Mojo Sticks, even the complete heal of the Soulfire (paladin quest sword) can be used from inventory by any class. Of course these effects must be right-clicked from inventory of the excluded races/classes since they can't be worn.

However, an item working from inventory doesn't guarantee it will work for everyone. Circlet of Shadow(s), Words of Darkness, Staff of Temperate Flux, the mage focus items, etc. work from inventory but won't work from the inventory of those who can't wear the item.

Time and again verant has gone out of their way to prevent clerics from getting any form of invis other than the unstackable cloudy potions or charged dropped/quested items. The Incarnadine Breastplate was changed to must-be-equipped because clerics and paladins were using it to invis. If a cleric can invis with this from inventory, then they won't be able to for long.

It may not be a moveable form of invis, but both Halfling and Dark Elf clerics get the Hide ability. Sure, if you move, you reappear but if all you're doing is medding anyway, its a really nice alternative.
RE: Invis Clerics
# Oct 10 2001 at 5:21 PM Rating: Default
dude, gather shadows is just like any invis, you can run wherever you want to with it and it will stay up ,so... your comparison has no basis.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 6:10 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) if you wanted a class that could invis....chose a class that can invis...you want items to give you all the conveniences? then whats the point of classes...give everyone the ability to cast every spell and give everyone max ac/hp/atk, would that be fair then? you could stop crying that "clerics got the shaft again cuz we didnt get a right click invis"...last I checked I dont have an unlimited clickable rez item or complete heal or divine aura or gate....

BS, look at so many other class items with effects. The effects availible to all other class quest armor and items include other class spells. now look at Cleric effects, Hrmm, we are stuck with only our own, with ver very few exceptions, and even with our own they are limited or nerfed. pure melee get personal buffs or heals on their armor/items. Its total BS that clercs get nothing of the like. they are completely defensless traveling. yes we are a suport class, but are left to be dependant even in getting to a fight. I think the only other class that has been left out in travel is the warrior, but at least he has the ac/hp to last a bit longer.

Why not make useful items that all classes can use? You say how it wouldn't be fair and what would the point of classes be, but thats irrelevant, a few spell effects doesn't take away from a classes individuality. There was(is) a successful roleplaying game that came out long before the computer ones, called Dungeons and Dragons, many roleplaying games today use its rules or version of them, as a basis for their own. They had magic items that allowed classes to use spell effects that they couldn't normally due to class restrictions, and it didn't unbalance the game one bit. I think it would be great if they would allow a little more diversity in spell items to not just classes that already have the spell.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 7:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I love how people always bring up the Dungeons and Dragons argument. THIS IS NOT DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS. kekeke thx~ la

So what if it's not! D&D it is very much like it, and so is a relevant point of refrence. Especialy since there are probaly more D&D or former D&D players playing this game than any other demographic. Spouting otherwise is like saying that the IRA/Great Britian and the Palestinian/Jewish conflicts don't have anything in common. Stop crying because you were either born to late or to sheltered to have played and loved D&D and don't understand the conversation.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2001 at 11:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This may not BE D&D, but it sure as hell IS based off it. VI has mentioned it many times...hell, most of the designers are D&D (ex)players.

LOL!

"flock of seagulls had to have been the most influential band of the 80's"

What is that? Some kind of troll to get the 80's fans underpants in a bunch?

'FlockofSeaGulls' is a Latin phrase meaning "struggling to be mediocre"

Cheers from the Anon Sig Critic =)
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 11 2001 at 3:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) hehe, thats my signature, but, aside from devo, i can think of no other band that has had such a huge influence on the music of a particular generation.
Wow...
