I've had a shadow panther mount for years and I have loved it the whole time, but sony has decided to alter the graphics on it and now its so ugly I wish I could trade it away. Its my feelings that they did it so people would want to buy their new marketplace mounts sense it happened about the same time they came out.
I guess they realized how ugly it was and changed it back.
Theeeen, I hate you! :P jk. Would love to have this mount! I deal with LoN cards only to get the loot cards, haven't played the game, actually. Something to do while medding during solo, I suppose.
I've seen a mount that looks like a cross between a horse and a lizard. Really funky. Sent a /tell to the toon but he was afk. Anyone know what it might be? It in no way resembled a chimera (haven't seen that one though, soo..) The one I'm referring to has 4 legs, 1 head, and spikes/wings.
Any other LoN virgins (or anyone interested in trading info) feel free to contact me here or in-game.

I looted a booster pack in the Halls of Honor on 28 Dec 07 and got the mount card for the Shadow Panther, so I can confirm that you can receive this mount from a looted booster pack. I have not purchased any boxes or booster packs and this was the first pack of cards that I opened.
I bought ( not boxes ) 7 packs and got nothing. I then bought 3 more packs and nothing. After a few days I bought 3 more packs and got a mount. A was able to get a snow leopard. I also got the Nimbus of the burning prince. Just an Auro of flames around my character. Cool looking but no other effect then visual.
SO after 13 packs I was able to get the mount that I wanted. So yeah maybe I am lucky =)
I would never spend 2k of real money on a game..$40 is not oo bad. PLus it was fun to see what I could get.
The mount cards are very rare. If someone buys one box and gets a mount, then they got very lucky. There are two people that I have talked to that bought ten boxes and didn't get a mount, but there have been some people who only bought a box or two and got one. It's all about luck.
Is it possible to get a booster in-game, open it, and get a mount? Yes, but the odds are very, very low. =/
I posted this in the chimera section too but, I bought one booster pack to enable trading and such. I then tried to buy 3 more booster packs, but double clicked somewhere and bought 6 instead. At the very bottom of the opened packs was a chimera mount. I was extatic to say the least.
If I had wanted to play cards, I would have joined a bridge club or move to Las Vegas. I pay to play EQ not CARDS. Go back to the drawing board and Fix what ya have, NOT change the game. Now, I could see if they incorperated the cards as part of Drops and quests so we can turn them in for the items, but to sit an play an entirely differant game for it. FORGETIT. F O R G E T I T. Not spending my money on it.
no one cares about you and your rediculous feeling's towards a card game that has nothing to do with your play style or game itself, its player choice and its a client in all soe clients, and its a game of its own, so to come here and complain, your a sad person
seriously. but in the end i dont care cause i can go on with EQ my normal way, however, ever since that 12 hour patch, i'm Crashing a Ton, and that really pisses me off.
I've been a good boy, and bought every expansion that's ever been released for EverQuest, whatever my initial misgivings may have been about the (dubious) advantages provided by those expansions. But I take umbrage at being forced to buy another game entirely in order to avail myself of the same items other people will be introducing into EverQuest through the "Legends of Norrath" card game.
If I wanted to play a card game, I'd be a customer of "Wizards of the Coast", not "Sony Online Entertainment". Will I now be forced to invest an equal amount of time, effort, and energy into "Legends of Norrath" as I've put into EverQuest, in order to "keep up with the Joneses"?
I swear, I'm starting to think the people working at SOE are malevolent little gnomes, intent on punishing me for being addicted to their game. I guess making end-game zones that are nearly impossible to enter, let alone beat, isn't enough; now they're forcing us to go outside the game altogether in order to attain items.
Who in the world thought this was a good idea? And why weren't they immediately beaten back to their senses? It has to be the same person who came back from watching "Pirates of the Carribean" and decided EverQuest needed peglegs, eyepatches, and salty sea-dogs who say "Arrrrr!"...and with the coming release of "Secrets of Faydwer", I s'pose we'll have dirigibles and airplanes, too.
EverQuest: once the premier MMORPG for "high fantasy". Now the refuge of the genre-confused.
I'd love one of these but i'm not buying booster packs to get one. Card game items aren't THAT good. If you don't want to then don't spend the money, period. No reason anyone should feel forced. LoN is of course another idea of soe to make money, but they didn't make it absolutely essential to play.
its ridiculous, too, that they present it like "well you dont have to BUY the booster packs, you can loot them in game off any exp giving mob." I'm in a fairly big and "with it" guild on my server and i have yet to hear of anyone (in guild or out) getting the booster packs from mob drops. So if the chance of getting a pack to drop is 1 in a million and the chance of getting a mount from a pack is one in a ten thousand... =(
