Getting To Kejar The Mighty
# May 30 2003 at 12:44 PM Rating: Excellent
OK have figured how to do this lately.

First of all you need to create a mule Cleric that worships Brell, probably a dwarf. Level him to level 4 and buy the spell divine aura.

Give the mule the robe and get him to grab a SoW and head for Paineel. When you zone in head thorugh the tunnel and you will appear outside at the edge of the Hole. Cast Divine Aura and immediately run over the edge. You should be alive when you hit the bottom (#7 on EQ Atlas map). Stay away from Master Yael if he is up, otherwise all the other elementals, stone golems and flighty fiends will ignore you, regardless of what they con to you. Head for the only exit out of the area which I believe is to the West.

Now the only mob you really need to keep clear of is a Ratman. Which roams either end of the two tunnels and in the middle area.

Follow the upward sloping tunnel until you come to the exit stay close to the right hand side wall and avoid the revenant (Erudite ghost looking thing) as you make a right turn. Run up the slope and there should be another tunnel entrance to your left. Enter the tunnel and follow it until you come to a pool with Jaeil the Wretched (#8 EQ Atals map). Hopefully you haven't come across the ratman yet, you should wait here until you see him coming. When he appears jump into the right hand pool and swim as far as way from the path as possible until the ratman leaves. Once he does jump out and continue on up the tunnel. From hear it's all clear sailing. When you get to the end of the tunnel take the right and make your way to the area above #11 on the EQ Atlas map. Enter the building and make your way up the stairs until you get to Kejar the Mighty. Good luck to all of you attempting it. Got one robe and a chunk of metal so far hehe. =)
Charm and Trade in
# Apr 02 2003 at 1:23 AM Rating: Decent
For all you out there that also read the post from Sentiax I just wanna warn you. Might have worked for them because they got lucky. But even as charmed he gives you pieces of chunk instead the robe so if you want the robe you can also use your rogue mule like I'll do with my 2nd SMR thats left.
If that won't work I'll just gather 15 or 20K and buy me a better robe, why bother with all the time now that you can use dyes :)
where is kejar
# Mar 27 2003 at 2:06 PM Rating: Decent
Where is the tower that has kejar inside we looked with a group and couldn't find.... the map shows it as 9 on the map but it is seperate from the main map and doesn't connect so were is the stairs to the tower???????

I bought my Shiny Robe of the Underfoot from a friend when he upgraded his. Got it for 3 or 4K don't remember but at lvl 62 I am still wearing it. :) Not sure about taking the SMR down there and turning it in on a chance of getting something that would be totally useless or not. I mean SMR stats aren't that bad:

Really gets me though on the Rarity thing common for the Shiny Robe of the Underfoot and rare for the SMR. LOL

I am DE enchanter on MT and the Shiny Robe of the Underfoot is a real pretty blue on me :) which is my favorite color. Oh btw I was wearing the Froglok Bone Casters Robe when I upgraded to this. Had all Kael except for the robe which never droped when I was around. doh.

Just don't know if I would have taken that chance on the turn in unless the other item would have been useful in some way which no one seems to know if it is.

How is this an upgrade to froggy robe exactly if you paid 3K for 1 less int, 10 less mana, 5 less str, and only got 10 vsCold and 2 AC?

This one
AC+12 Str+3 Int+7 vsMagic+10 vsFire+10 vsCold+10 Mana+30

Froggy robe
AC+10 Str+8 Int+8 vsMg+10 vsFire+10 Mana+40

Though the color is cool on this one... with dyes, that don't mean much anymore..

1 in 5 chance w/ mule
# Jan 21 2003 at 11:22 PM Rating: Good
I got my Shiny Robe of the Underfoot on Jan.11 (or was it the 12th?), 2003 on my FIFTH SMR turn in. The first SMR I bought for 3K and had used awhile; camped the ghoul arch magus solo with my 57 wiz on Stormhammer server and got two more, then someone GAVE me an SMR. All these tries failed. Having a shiny chunk of metal on the Brell halfling rogue mule does NOT help, nor can you turn in this chunk to Kejar (he gives it back). You can't even sell it! I camped the magus once more, got another SMR, hid and snuck down the Hole to Kejar, and finally got the Underfoot robe in return for the SMR. Knowing what I do now, that it may well be a one in five chance with the mule, I would not do it again, but it is a nice robe, both in resists and appearance. And I made level 58 in The Ruins of Old Guk!
Just got this...

Noticed that you made multiple posts on the pricing page and inflated the price beyond its worth. Bad Karma for you.

getting expensive

I have tried this 4 times so far with no luck. I am using the halfling rogue to get to him. Anyone get this lately? I see the last post stating somone got this robe was in November 02. Just don't want to be wasting my time and money. Also, anyone got one for sale on Inny?

havent done it recently, but i've gotten robe 3 of the 4 times i did quest

This now has Focus Effect: Spell Haste 2
# Nov 05 2002 at 9:56 PM Rating: Default
Confirmed, mine also has it now. It would make sense since the SMR has it that the underfoot robe would have the same or better effect. Would liked to have seen Spell Haste III but I guess that's reserved for the uber robes.

No luck
# Jul 17 2002 at 4:14 PM Rating: Decent
Camped the Magus forever to try and get a 2nd SMR, with no luck. So i took a risk with my halfing brell rogue into the hole with my only SMR, got to kejar, handed in, got a shiny hunk of metal back. Let's just say i was not happy.
RE: No luck
# Jul 30 2002 at 1:43 AM Rating: Decent
Well i got another SMR from magus and took my rogue lvl 1 mule into the hole again tonight to try again. I got the underfoot robe! I'm not sure if it helped that i already had a shiny hunk of metal on me, cause it was lore, so i couldnt carry another one. But he gave me the robe, so i am happy :)
How its done.
# Jul 10 2002 at 6:02 PM Rating: Good
First of all those of you trying to do this quest with a mule are taking verry big risk. I have never seens it completed for the robe when he is not charmed. Second of all its really easy to get there and charm this guy, bring 3 enchanters 2 wizards and a cleric and you can clear your way down to the city and up the tower to this guy in about 4 AE style pulls. Then charm him its Easy he is level 42 or so. Then anyone with a SMR can turn it in and get a shinny under foot robe back, completed several of these for my guild and have never gotten a shinny stone. Of course we also have the caster who will use the robe doing the turn in not some bard or rogue...Kejar is a smart monsters he knows melee classes done need robes so he gives you rocks.

It was hard but worth it
# Jun 13 2002 at 5:36 AM Rating: Default
It took me 4SMRs to get this robe. after over 100 hours of camping the stupid frog in Lguk. First 3 were rocks, and finaly the forth :) ROBE. Anyone that says the bone caster robe is better, needs their head examined. You cannot replace those resist. When on raids it comes in so handy. I live when others die cause of my resists. It is worth the money. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I would have to get uber robe to replace it, and I also like the look. I haven't seen another robe that looks like it, and I like that. I like to stand out. When your done with it, you turn around and sell it for what ever you paid for it. You will always find someone looking for one, specially someone wanting to tweek an alt. I have been offered 17k for mine. Turned them down. I will sell it when I am ready:)
Oh well, next time perhaps
# Jun 08 2002 at 12:19 AM Rating: Default
Tried doing this quest today, but with no luck - there goes 2 SMR's.

What I noticed was that hide/sneaking when handing in the robe doesnt work anymore since one of the recent patches - but with a brell rogue you can stop hiding when you're next to Kejar, you're not KOS to most of the mobs there even though most of them scowl at you (Kejar too).

I hope you have more luck than I did

im looking to get this robe but what is an SMR and what lvl should i be to get it?
# Apr 21 2002 at 8:02 AM Rating: Good
Not to be rude or anything. But if u dont know what a SMR is you will not get this robe.
(smr is Shiny Metallic Robe, drops from Ghoul arch magius in Lguk)

First time . . .
# Apr 13 2002 at 8:26 PM Rating: Decent
Wow, this robe is beautiful! I got lucky the first time. I did the halfling rogue thing. Got em to lvl 3 and then headed down to the hole. Was kinda hard to find the guy, but I did. Handed in my SMR and got this robe back on the first try. I was still hiding and sneaking when I handed the robe in.

Now because of the new rules for chars 10 and under I simply attacked a random creature once I had the robe and bingo I was teleported out of the hole to my bind point with the new robe still in my possession thanks to the noob death rules now.

Easy as pie :) Good luck to everyone trying for this robe!
Thought of keeping a chunk
# Apr 12 2002 at 11:06 PM Rating: Default
Well, I havent tried this quest yet, but i read that peeps get like 3 chunks in a row.. then get a robe.. Has anyone tried keeping the first shiney chunk on them, and turned in the next smr? Might do something like take the chunk off loot possibilities for that trade.. just a thought /shrug I know lots of quests like this one where the item is.. "ok", and if you keep it, and turn in again, gives sweet exp since you already have the item.. Ie , i kill the Goul Messenger in Wk whenever i track him there and turn in the map.. Having the SSoM in the bank, I get bout 1/2 blue exp at lvl 50, and nothing saying i already have that lore item. Seems almost like a check on my inv before it decides what loot/exp is on the table. /shrug.. Just a few cp worth there to think about

chunk of metal
# Apr 03 2002 at 9:31 PM Rating: Default
has any tried handing back a few chunks of the metal and see if he trades u for robe?
why 12k?
# Mar 19 2002 at 1:39 PM Rating: Default
Why would anyone pay 12k for this robe? Or even 6k? It is really not all that great an item if compared to the Froglok Bonecaster's Robe

And the Froglok sells for way less than 6k these days.
RE: why 12k?
# Apr 22 2002 at 7:48 PM Rating: Good
Well it has been a while and now that I moved on in the game it has become aparent why this robe is 12k (although 12k is still a lil high). But the main reason is resist! When you are taking AE in HoT or Umbral or whatnot, you need resists. This robe is the only non-nodrop robe which provides 10 MR/CR/FR. Int and mana can easily be gained through other items, but resists are tough to come buy in any case. So get your hands on one of those and live through AE.

I have tried this quest twice with, first time was for my Boyfriend a 54Chanter. Made a 1/2ling rogue of Brell and you know the rest....anyway, I got the robe...easy, no problem....second time I did it for a friend of mine, and of the shiny metal. I did both hiding and Sneaking so that has no affect on the outcome....i guess it is just luck.
# Jan 08 2002 at 7:25 PM Rating: Default
i turned in an SMR while hiding and sneaking to the guy and got the shiny chunk of metal back. Does anyone know if you don't sneak/hide, will you have a better chance of getting it? with halfling brell serilis rog you can turn off hide sneak when you get to the room and nothing will attack you. If anyone has tried this please post here. thanks
