Yes, you turn the head and get one item, then you turn it in and get the next one, then the next one. The first item depends on your class, the rest are in sequence,, sword, boots, helm. Look up Lord Yelinak and click the link to see what mobs affect faction. I suggest doing raids in Kael Drakkel/Arena Area. King Tormax is a big hit also. The toes and helms quest works to get COV faction up, but Yelinak is on his own faction. Bracer of Hammerfall raises Yeli faction "slowly".
Ok guys this may have been answered , but where and how do you get good faction to do the skyshrine armour quests ? I would really like to know.. So if you can please email me with info or something plz.. or if you play on the saryrn server just /tell utumn , that would be me thnx !!
Yes it helps , and I think that I screwed up the faction last night when my guild "Denu of Sar" on the saryrn server decided to raid in NToV ? I was only there for 3 or 4 named kills.. then I headed out had to get some sleep.. So I think we are planning a Kael Raid now , so that the ones working on quest items with that faction.. Can get there good faction back.. I hope that they do , cause I really really don't wanna run around for another 3 weeks to a month raising the faction by myself.. I just reached 65 , and don't wanna waste all my time on green kills that do nothing for my aa xp and the such.. Well thank you guys for the great info.. and I'm glad that there is still some people on here willing to give out decent info =)
These boots aren't obtained with Claws of Veeshan (CoV) faction which is the faction used for the Skyshrine quest armor. The faction you need to get these boots is Yelinak faction. Only way to get Yelinak faction is off kills from a couple of mobs in Tormax's thrown room (include Tormax himself), and turning in helmets and toes.
One way to get Yelinak faction involves the mercenaries in Wakening Lands, Kael, and Eastern wastes. Kill them and loot the Mercenary brooches (looks like gold pendants). take into SS, and turn into the Barbarian Torm. Need good faction with CoV, i believe. TUrning in results in Potion of Draconic Rage (W,R,BEr that i know of), faction hit to Kromrif and kromzek, and boost to CoV and Yelinak.
Fastest way to do SS faction is have a raid, or follow along on a raid, that is after Vindi. You will get insane hits from all the trash mobs along the way and then of course get Vindi's hit and his guards. I went from scowls to max ally in less then 2 raids in Kael. One was a Vindi raid, other was a Tormax raid. If you arent of lvl yet to be on one of those raids, just go in and follow a grp. Cast your lowest agro making spell, throw something, or shoot an arrow at the mobs they are killing. You wont get any exp of course, but hitting a mob once will let you get all the faction hits. Hope that helps :)

Is there any way to test Yelinak faction while he's not up? He doesn't seem to be up for very long on my server as I have yet to even see him. Also, can a ranger with 200 tracking see him on track from the CS zone it? It'd save me a bunch of time running around to make sure I'm close enough.
edit: Found out that a ranger w/200 tracking can see him on track from the CS zone in (but not from as far away as WL zone in).
With absolutely no other Yelinak faction work you would need 2 Tormax hits. However, if you turned in lots of toes and helms (esp helms) they will take you up relatively fast, and you could get by with just one hit. Just be sure Yelinak will talk to you and give you the quest before you hand the head in.
I can verify that you only need high amiable to do the turn in. I did 4 Vindi kills, and farmed a lot in Kael to get my CoV faction high enough to turn in helms, plus I has the faction hit from killing Tormax. I turned in about 35 helms and 20 toes and Yelniak conned dubious. I cast collaboration and got him to amiable but he still wouldn't talk to me. So I ran and bought 21 more helms and turned them in, then ran up to con him again and he was at apprehensive. Cast collab, he went back up to amiable, and talked to me, and gave me my shiny new boots. :)
Oh, and you only need to be dubious to Lieutenant Milven to turn in helms and toes. He won't talk to you to give you the quest but he'll still take them and give you faction. He'll take both frost and storm giant toes, an enchanter only needs to get CoV to threatening and cast collab which brings him to dubious.
Can anyone confirm the faction needed for this quest. I have the head sitting in the bank and have been working on faction like mad. amaible, kindly, ally???
i was kindly to yeli and received the boots. friend of mine did his a week ago and he said high amaible was what he had. plus you also need cov faction to get to yeli long run to reach him/her
If I have the White Dragon Helm (The item you get from handing in these boots) can I hand the Helm back in to get the boots again? Anyone ever checked this out?
Tormax = rare spawn Tormax = killed as soon as he spawns Tormax = semi hard kill with the guards Tormax Head = hard to win the roll on or however your guild does it
And finally to do the quest you need maximum ally to Yelinak. Plus Yelinak has to be up so you can hand in the thing. There's pleanty to this quest...
Ok maybe not maximum ally, like high amiable or low kindly but still this is friggn hard quest. Been farming kael for 2 weeks now conveniently missing tormax kills and still I've only gotten to dubious with yelinak. I should have guessed how hard this quest is from the amount of plat people pay for the helm.
of course, killing tormax is prolly the biggest faction upper for yelinak, too bad he is so damn rare lol i suggest faction pharming and waiting for him to spawn...if youre lucky he is yours , too bad he is dead as soon as he pops =(

I just left my guild, who were really low levels. Im in search of a decent AGGRESSIVE guild now on the Vazaelle sever. If any of you know of a really good guild, send Domeno a tell.. or email me at lahatte@netdoor.com ...Thanks

Tormax has been cut down to a puling infant of his former self, so this is not really hard- just need to compete against a bunch of other rolls. Just did dain with 16 people(3 tanks), so I figure tormax can't be too far off.

On top of the fact that you have to have Yelinak faction at kindly to warmly or better. You get a pretty good hit when you kill Tormax, of course. However, you still need to do a lot of faction work to get the quest from Yelinak.
Faction can be increased by turning in Storm Giant Toes or Giant Warrior Helms to the Sentinal in Skyshrine. You can always go back on another Tormax raid also. Lots of luck as Tormax is a prime target.

Tell you what, bonehead. You go get 60, get Canna 4, and get Torpor, and *then* come back and post and say Cannibalizing doesnt regen mana. I can regen mana faster than a necro, bard, enchanter, you name it. And Cannibalizing stacks, if you will, with C2, Bard song, whatever...
If you don't know what the hell you're posting about, then simply... don't post.
Well i can tell you that canni 4 is annoying... I have canni 5 and I'd much rather risk scaring the cleric and doing all my canni at once then hitting it over and over again. With the chain pulls i get in pop zones my time is usually spent like this cast malos cast slow click epic click jbb cast nuke(maybe depending on mana/buff needs/gaters/dps) click jbb mob dead canni 5 depending on 2 min timer speed of inc mana needs. Believe me I used to hit the canni 4 button all the time and it is annoying as heck and ft is nice for a shammie i don't care what anybody says. http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=611641
I agree. Even if I'm not playing my shaman, if I'm in a group above 30 and I see the shaman NOT cannibalizing, I give him a strick talking to. The only time I wouldn't if its a specific loot camp and there's nothing nearby to hunt for EXP.
I've timed it myself more than once and there's a HUGE difference in downtime between Medding and Canni/Regenning.
Any shaman that doesn't Canni is one that is not doing his best and doesn't belong in my group. If my stupid 53 druid could Canni, you can bet he'd be half HP and Full Mana all the time too. He might even be usefull in groups then too besides a backup healer, resistance buffer and port biotch.
Actually before anyone tells someone to cann down they need to take in consideration mana levels/buffs onthe shaman etc etc... hard to cann up the needed mana when say you lost your regen... your out of mana and your in a zone where you really dont want to be down the health that raising the mana it would take to cast the 300 mana cost of regrowth. For most (read carefully I said MOST not ALL) shamans are lacking in areas like ac or hp (on my shaman I have ac 714 (buffed) and hp of 1400 (buffed as well) ) I have had group members get crappy as hell with my saying I need a med break after an intense amount of action where I was left with less than 50% of my woefully low to begin with hp's. The point of my post? Don't presume to tell others how to play their characters... I don't see anyone else paying for my account... if by some chance I ever group with someone who attempts to tell me how to play my character you bet I will be telling them to rub salt in the crack of their *** fast as hell.As far as the comment "if I'm in a group above 30 and I see the shaman NOT cannibalizing, I give him a strick talking to." You had better hope I am not the group leader cause I might accidentally hit "ctrl-d" with you targetted... after I gave you a >strict< talking to about telling me how to play my character.
"He might even be usefull in groups then too besides a backup healer, resistance buffer and port biotch."
Putting aside the other things druids do, you ignorant musclehead, how many of your other group members have three usefull roles? Why dont you just go turn on autoattack and shut up.
Raid situation with lag it can be very difficult to time your dancing. Maybe this is much more efficient with CanII+, but with CanI with at least clarity, if you are lagging, you will gain mana faster just sitting still.
The other thing you have to be careful of is: don't cannibalize down too low. I recently was in a group with a shaman in Karnor's and he cannibalized down to about 2 bubbles of life. unfortunately, an add aggroed him, and once he got hit once, he was below 2 bubbles, and everything we were fighting immediately switched targets to him. I didn't even have a chance to get a quick heal (greater) off before he died.
Cannibalize, but not down below half, especially in dungeons.

Canabilize is for any shaman that isnt full mana, and who has a healer around that can heal him. At 60, that means the shaman himself since he can cast Torpor and heal himself. Before 60, it means a cleric that isnt too low on mana. Even if the healer is low on mana, you can always cana down to about 50%-60% health. It regens fast enough, and you never know when that extra mana will save the entire party or raid.
Some of the information on this item is not correct. First, the item adds 110 mana, not 100. Second, the item is missing its NO DROP tag. This item cannot be traded or purchased from another player; It is indeed NO DROP.
Sorry guys, you have to get this one for yourself.
Whilst this is a relatively oldish post, I figure I'd better correct it for the people who read this stuff..
Whilst you're correct in saying it's no-drop, that doesn't mean it's not tradable... before you start calling me stupid, bear with me :)
This is the second quest reward for handing in King Tormax's head to Lord Yelinak, (the first being Clawed Griffin Sword if you turn it in again, you get White Dragon Helm, an item that IS tradable.. As long as the person who receives the helm has the faction to do the quest, they can then recycle through the sword and back to the boots again.

Posted:Oct 02 2001 at 7:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) almost everyone over 50 has some sort of mana regen. Magicians have mod rods. Shamans have caniblize. Druid's has wolf form and protection of the glades. Wizzies, necro's etc only caster that doesn't get it is the cleric which gets items that can heal for them and rez for them at later levels. Over lvl 60 we also get only 1 maybe two med points we can go up per lvl. Long and short is that the chanter is not getting screwed out of this deal, by this time the chanter would love this piece as well, and because they stack with all non equipment buffs to mana regen it is very useful.
first of MOD rods from mages are by all means no way to mana regen, you spend way more mana than you get from a MOD, so for mages this is a great item, since our spells cost alot this is one of the mest boots for all mages.
Mods rods are so mages can make a stack of them on the ground before they receive a rez. Then they can get a heal and start pumping their mana back up, or give one to the cleric so they can regain a little of the mana they spent on the rez. Mod rods are in no way meant to be a way to regain mana faster for a mage over meditating.
Awesome stats in my opinion. Though the effect on them sours me... it's basicly breeze, a 16th Enchanter spell. Yet if the rest of us(excluding sow-classes) ask for a equivalent-SoW item, even on the extreme high end(like these are), Verant claims that it would be bad because of dilution of the classes. Hypocrites...
Congrats on who ever got these though, awesome booties. Thanks again if anyone flames me. :)
Gnife Gnomish Enchanter of the 40th ticking Xegony
Jboots and tboots are the equivalent of a lvl 9 SOW. this is the equivalent of a lvl 16 breeze. Jboots are easy to quest, tboots are purchasable. This is a really tough quest. Why does the effect bug you? Also, you want a sow-like effect, get a horse.
This "breeze" stacks with every other non-item mana regen, including your precious breeze/clarity line. Tell me how a SoW item will stack with SoW spells and I'll eat my JBoots.
I have a question. I heard that having 2 items with flowing though 1 does not mean you get 2 mana per tick, but does having a flowing though 1 item AND a flowing though II items = 3 mana per tick regen?
Actually, all FT items now stack. So you can have 3 FT 1 items, and FT 2 on these boots, and you have your innate mana regen 3 sitting, plus the five from your FT items. So, basicly, you have a breeze all the time!
Absolutely true in that you can stack all the FT items up to 15. I did experiment with this by casting a large mana grabbing spell, i.e. Virtue, with 1, FT3 item vs. 2, FT3 items and timed how long it took for the mana to come back completely. The difference was noticeable and taking all the other factors in to account, i.e. other FT items etc., You can stack these two items.

Posted:Oct 02 2001 at 2:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wow nice boots!!! the Flowing Thought II would be great for a Dwarven Cleric..I gotta get one of these!
100 mana and 17 int, not to mention FTII. I think I found my new piece fo drool gear. decent resists but why does everything in velious have sv cold?...duh (insert slap on the forehead here)
It is pretty odd that the only hybrid on the list is the new beastlord class...that's weird
I would have to say that these are one of the best pairs of boots for pure casters, not excluding others that can wear them. GREAT ac for pure casters, with the hps / mana / resists, plus the extraordinary int / wis. Flowing thought II is also nice, which is basically breeze on you at all times, to my knowledge is Two mana per tic. Mana regen with this will probably noticable, in contrast to Flowing thought I.
Yeah its confirmed Flowing Thought II = 2 mana regen per tick. The best thing about that is that it stacks with Breeze/Clarity/C2/Manasongs/whatever. Heh, they aren't No Drop either but I don't even want to think what one of those uber guilds would do to someone who did anything to these other than wear them with pride. BTW are there any items with Flowing Thought III yet?
