#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 11 2002 at 6:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OK, considering that this is a good item, many people dont take the time to actully plan an event to go somewhere and get things accomplished. Ssra is a good zone, dont get me wrong, but if your looking for fun and good armor, go to Vex Thal, just take your whole lvl 65+ guild with you or youll get OWNED by Aten Ha Ra.(I know, I had to do a CR there...

lol this item isnt even from ssraa unless they messed up the loot/mob listings.

but besides that, ssraa is a pretty kickass zone until you are VT capable, and has pretty damn good drops for anyone who can go there.

Know your facts before you make silly posts. To even get into Vex Thal you need to quest for the key. And one of the final steps in the key quest to VT is to kill Emperor Ssraeshza himself. And to even get to the emperor you need a key. The key isn't that hard to get but I'm sure the Emperor is tough to kill. Most guilds perfer to raid NTov and do the glyphod cycle which is also in ssra temple before taking on the emperor. Oh and also kill AoW a couple of dozen of times to. This item drops in ToV btw, not Ssra, it just bares its name for some reason.

Not for casters?
# Apr 08 2002 at 2:08 AM Rating: Good
Who said the casters sit at the back and have no need for this? As a Shammy, one of best ways to help a group/guild is to slow the mobs, this saves the tanks getting hit so much, saves the Clerics mana on heals and genarally reduces the damage dealt by the mobs, this unfortunatly has a VERY high taunt value and I find myself summoned or agroed by very annoyed mobs. As a hybrid, I dont have 10 million HPs to save me while the cleric CHs me, a few fast hits and I am history. The AC on this item would sure help save my butt and the added WIS would allow me to haste most of the guild, once again saving damage from mobs as they then go down quicker. Yes the main tank does put there life on the line, but so do the casters who try to help them. This Item is great for all classes, so please stop saying in is wasted on any one class, whoever gets it is a lucky person. Gratz to everyone who has one and /salute Jipp

#Tangrett, Posted: Nov 20 2002 at 5:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) sevenmoons, your a frickkin moron. Its all/all for a reason, everyone has a right to loot this one day or another. Depending on there guilds loot method, and by your post you are in a low level guild that will never even get to see this mob, let alone actully have a chance in hell to loot this item. Much like all you frickkin people who deem an all/all item to be for X class and should never go to another class. Cannot wait to see the day when one of those items you want that you say is for X class goes to the caster. Serves you fawks right.

Did you even READ his post, before you flamed him. He is saying the same thing you are. He uses a shaman as an example, because he plays one. If you read carefully, he is respondsing to the posts that say it is a melee item, due to HP and AC.

Plus, why did you feel it necessary to resort to name calling, rather than reasoned argument?
RE: Not for casters?
# Jun 07 2002 at 10:41 AM Rating: Decent
Since when were Shammies hybrids? You're a priest Sevenmoons :)

As far as those who say that casters sit at the back...quite a few ubermobs resist even wizard Lures from a nice safe distance...I've frequently had to run into melee range (literally standing right behind or next to the MA) to land a nuke. Of course...if I actually draw aggro it's usally because almost everyone but the camped out clerics is dead.
RE: Not for casters?

Great point, but if your guild has weak clerics it should goto them. So slow your mob, die, get rezed after, and be happy your guild took it out.

Jipp happens to be in the top 10 magicians on the server.. and i don't mean just in gear. Many people also tell me i'm in the top 10 (jipp totally has me wasted on gear tho.. but hey i'm in sky right now muahaha)

So just let it be known:

It's all/all. It should go to whoever earned it. Obviously, Jipp earned it, or it would not have been awarded to him.

nobodies really said much about truesight. Can you say pvp? Ok so everybody can use it and most of us won't even see it but i think the people who get this definately deserve it they worked hard for it. This item probably won't just go for random number. It will probably go in some sort of point system or person who organized the raid.

This is perfect for (insert class here).

BAH!

Notice the AC, STR and HP increases? That screams melee classes. You know who you are.

Notice the INT, WIS, and mana bonuses? They make this item ideal for casters, line up here please.

The combination of stats shout out for hybrids to get this. Yup, you all get a chance too.

And the resists? Who doesn't need +8 to all resists?

Now which classes and races are excluded? None? So that means Verant made this item to be used by all players. What a concept, all helped take down Vulak, all get a chance to get this.
The effect...

Come on now
# Sep 26 2001 at 7:20 AM Rating: Decent
Look, it really is quite simple for the folks who are killing NToV MOBs like this. The first time it drops, it goes to the Main Tank. Why? Because it helps the entire guild out for *^&*^'s sake.

The next time, it goes to the off-tank, etc. This is not a ploy to ***** anyone, it is just science applied to Norrath. Eventually all will have nice AC items like this but don't give me the "this is best for a Ranger" business. When was the last time your Ranger tanked anything? My top Ranger would laugh in the RL's face if he awarded him this.
RE: Come on now

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 09 2001 at 8:23 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No doubt, Im glad I read this post, cause I was about to say the same thing. Sure its great for all classes but just look at the AC. Im only a 51 warrior and nothing on me atm is 35 ac. Hell my champs boots got the most AC out of anything im wearing so far. And whose going to be getting hit the most?... definatly not the magician from way up top there, and definatly not a ranger. Clerics might take a hit or 2 but no enough to be considered first in line for this puppy. Tank numero uno gets this first. And in all being fair tank numero dos gets the second. Face it, every class has its puproses and the +to int and wis for casters who use SPELLS!!! I REPEAT SPELLS!!! in order to do battle doesnt help much. By this time all casters all ready have the max wis and int most likely. The AC on here definatly should go to the person who uses nothing but items to be the greatest, and thats the tanks. IE Warriors.

# Sep 26 2001 at 1:07 PM Rating: Decent
I don't know, whenever I'm using one of my melees, I always feel guilty taking something that has a lot of Int, Wis or Mana. I would be happy to let this go to the Cleric... provided I got healed and ressurected at the end of it all.
Why?
# Sep 26 2001 at 7:44 AM Rating: Default
First one of this that dropped went to a cleric.:\ The mask of warfare is probably better for true melees (10 more stam, 25 more hp/mana for 5 less ac). Some people with capped out stamina might take this, but a lot will want to hold off for the better loot and just settle for a secondary mask like ancient pirate's.
monkeys
# Sep 26 2001 at 6:07 AM Rating: Decent
Most of you people will never see it drop anyway, so what does it matter who gets it? It'll never be your decision. Any guild that takes him down has a point system, so whoever wants it and has enough points is going to get it. Don't ever expect to camp this like fbss and expect to random for it.
RE: monkeys
# Sep 27 2001 at 1:27 AM Rating: Default
Speak for yourself, Draxx.

It "matters" because the well-informed raid leaders peruse these sights (myself included), reading comments from various posters about who would best benefit from particular items, and then making informed decisions as to which classes (and sometimes races) are to random and/or allowed to use 'raid points'

My guild, in cooperation with 2 others, does camp ToV, HoT and North Wing- many do.

Your post had nothing to do with Monks, either, btw.

This Mask *screams* Hybrid to me, Caster/Priest second, and Melee lastly.

Go figure.

LACK of NEW items for MID levels
# Sep 25 2001 at 7:41 PM Rating: Default
WHY is it, that this game seems to have left the MID levels out in the cold? Either you have to be BELOW 35 or ABOVE 50 to get any of the new GOOD stuff. What happened to the rest of us, still trying to struggle through those levels inbetween? I have seen nothing new for us, therefore find the game becoming more boring. Looking forward to Dark Ages of Camelot coming out. MAYBE they will take into account ALL level players....
(not new)
# Sep 26 2001 at 11:23 AM Rating: Good
this isn't exactly a new item, Anon, it's just that Vulak'Aerr is JUST NOW being killed.
you need to clear all of the named dragons in tov in order to get to Vulak, otherwise they will all run in to assist him.. dragons with all kinds of fun AE's.. like gflux+throw(like cazic, fun!) mana drain, disease based DD+slow...
I've been to tov a few times, I've seen the best of guilds fail at some of these dragons.. multiple times if it was their first shot at it.. trust me, this item is VERY earned by anyone who can clear all of north tov and finally kill him

You're forgetting something. This is from the Temple of Veeshan. Heck, as far as I'm concerned it may as well be from Sleepers.

I have 3, T H R E E , post 50 characters. Really really pisses me off too that this stuff drops. Why? It's absolutely f**king impossible to get except for people who "are in the right place, at the right time, in the right guild, with the right standing in the guild" etc, etc, the stipulations go on and on and on.. It's just ********* for lack of a better way of describing my disgust.

# Sep 26 2001 at 7:46 AM Rating: Decent
Why should you care? The people that run high level raid guilds aren't superhuman, and a lot are regular people with day jobs and families.:\ It's not like anyone can't just put in the effort and form a guild to march on vulak. Go for it rather than whine all day about it.
RE: Sad
# Sep 26 2001 at 10:48 AM Rating: Decent
I find this post to be so funny. Form a guild and march on ToV north wing? Are you nuts? Forming and equiping a guild to take these mobs is not easy. Getting 40-60 55+(57 would be better) people of the required classes, and to get them all on at a time when this mob is up is difficult to say the least. This isn;t like taking down naggy/vox. Your post is offensive shows how little actaully know.

RE: Hmm Monks get ...
# Sep 26 2001 at 11:08 AM Rating: Decent
yes.. but if you'll look closely, this is an "eye patch" which goes in the "face" slot.. this is the best mask for anyone, whoever has the most points saved.. or whoever the guildleader feels earned it.. or whatever system the guild who takes down vulak is using.. will be the one to get it
casters/priests
# Sep 25 2001 at 5:24 PM Rating: Decent
Casters and priests enchanters most need hp and ac items plus it has +mana which is good at any time it has nice resists would it make you feel better if they took +15 int +15 wis off ? besides its a status simble more mana would have been smarter but I'm not complaining. Oh one more thing it frees up other slots for resist gear so at some point you could have 200int + 200 each resist +200 cha for enc so don't complain.

You wont only see this kind of thing on a WIS/INT caster, but you would also see it on a warrior. Not many good masks with such high AC, so this may end up going to a main tank... And give it to a ranger? What a waste that could be...

The only classes that are likely to get this item would be a CLR, SHM or ENC. Not like it matters. Items with stats like this are a one-per-server type deal. Sort of like the hottest chick in a bar. Sure, nice to look at...but you won't be getting one on your face anytime soon.

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 26 2001 at 5:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) "The hottest chick in the bar" is usually a 50/50 chance. Either she's stuck up and won't look at you unless you have at least a 6 figure income or she's also got the LOWEST self esteem in the bar and will do just about anything for you once she's drunk and you're telling her how beautiful she is.

I suppose it will fit nicely all that can find use for those wis and int... not only casters. Would be nice for CLR, SHD, PAL, RNG, SHM, DRU, casters and ya a monk too... but doubt any MNK will get this too easy cause of the WIS/INT.

This is most useful to a person that is at high risk of melee damage (heal/cast/pull/stun(read push) - agro) and wouldn't waste the nice WIS/INT stats.

I just hope the guild(s) that get this decide who to give it to before the server crashes or the corpse rotts.

Very nice. From a tough mob. Grats to the one wearing this :)
