This is definitely a real weapon. The Proc was reported as a purely graphical thing - looks like a firebolt.

And in case you're wondering, at the message boards we thought it was fake as well to start with, as many, many broken blamsticks have dropped, which have race:none.

This is pretty heavy with misconceptions or I wouldnt bother. Might be cool if it went in the offhand. Pretty sure even a lammy is better with the primary bonus going off twice as often, double the chance to double attack etc. Maybe the damage bonus is worth it /shrug. However the priest class use blows my mind. Yeah itd be a good greenie killer thats about it. With the max skill of a 35 melee(175 1hb 2hb) and the combat skills/stats of a 5 paladin(love you guys dont get me wrong) you cant hit the broad side of a barn. At 58 it still takes me 5 minutes to kill a green frog in guk with a 27 48 that procs, only reason I can melee them is they cant hit me either. Ranger only hits for mid 20s about 10 times as often. I dont even carry a weapon when we fight anything that isnt green. I can only imagine what our tanks/enc would say if I hit a mob on purpose they were trying to taunt off or mez. It takes me no more than a minute(more like 30 secs) to med for one of my ultra powerful cleric nukes. I'll be lucky to get more than 2 good shots in during that time with shissar if the mob isnt about 30 or lower gaining somewhere near a fifth of the damage. However, the druids that assist heal and keep the chanter me or the MA alive are invaluable on raids, let alone other things they can do ie nuke, cure, buff, make absolutely sure the mobs snared so we dont all die. It may be fun, and I'm all for that, but its mainly a toy unless perhaps its good for bards with no double attack.

the REASON we priests aren't sitting back medding is because if a mob is BEATING on us then we can't, and we need something to fend said mob off with since we don't get a pet (druid charms, which are useless, and shaman wolves, which are right next to that, being the exception), plus how many mobs are immune to being smacked? Only clerics and necroes, and then only for a short while. Plus it's fun to hit for 100+ with a priest, makes you feel all warm and squishy inside, especially since at about 15 we hit for maybe 15ish and the mobs hit US for 30-50...

Plus, on the PoH raid we just did yesterday, I was main healer in a ranger group with my druid, and oh darn, they weren't taking any damage and I was FM... was fun to brag to the rangers that I was hitting for high 30s with a druid while they were spamming away for mid 20s 8 )

Now I agree, that should this drop, monks and other melees are first for loots on this, as they ARE better at meleeing, but for Pete's sake, if the thing is rotting 'cause no one else wants it, you can bet my happy priest **** is looting it, and I have one of each priest class that would LOVE this little puppy about, oh, NOW.

Don't say the a priest is stupid for wielding this, EVER. I would deal more damage with this and an FBSS than I would nuking with my druid and then medding the mana back. Casters deal more damage in an instant than melees, but in the long run, even WE deal more damage in a long, drawn out fight, if our melee skills are high and we beat on it with a good weapon. Trust me on this, I've done the math, I would deal more damage with this and an FBSS if I were to include the downtime from medding. Plus we have situations like my PoH experience.

And of course, there is the occasion when we just don't feel like spending 250 mana to nuke that greenie goblin that just attacked us because we were sitting down... it's just fun to kill those goblins again and go back to your newbie days when you still got exp for them and bit your gums cause you couldn't hit the stupid thing.

But what do I know, I just speak from experience and mathematical equations...
