This is useless if you acquire it in the Mines. Because the quest requires an update obtained by the process of looting it off one of the nameds in the quest instance. So unless it has some other unknown purpose, better NOT to loot it in Vergalid since it won't do you any good and it could mess you up if you later do the quest.
