Just curious if SOE has continued this quest even further. Has anyone heard any news? Thanks in advance.

Had a good time with this quest
# Oct 22 2002 at 6:19 PM Rating: Decent
Every time I continue on with this quest, the better it gets. I really hope they continue with it beyond the Badge of Nobility.

With the help of a Lvl51 Shammy and a 52 Druid we had only minor problems with this quest.

Firstly before I got started I made hotkeys for all conversations that were to take place. It sure makes things easier.

When I left Vegal and went to go see the almost dead Investigator and finished with him I immediately went back to North Qeynos and then ran to the little bridge in South Qeynos near the bank. Meeting my friends, we EB and zoned into the aquaducts and found a safe place to buff up and med. There are a few safe places above the water near the zone line to SQeynos.
After we were all ready went to the secret wall area and just around the second corner was Guard Helminth. I followed the advice of another PC and snared and rooted him beyond the secret wall then camped to clear aggro then returned to speak with him. When he disapeared and the Corrupt Guard Helminth spawned in the original location where Guard Helminth was. This gave me time to run back through the secret wall and root the Rotting Sentry and deal with Corrupt Guard Helminth. He does hit pretty hard, in the 70-80 range but when you got 2 healers with you, its all gravy.

From there we invised to med and when we were FM I targeted the Necromancers pet(same place as Guard helminth was)and rooted him then we blasted the Necro and finished the pet off.

For Azibelle we did things a little different. We pulled the 2 rats where the room opens up near Azibelle and killed them. After that the 52 Druid pulled her. Again, I rooted the pet and we finished Azibelle. She was pretty tough and we were healing each other a bit. When we were all done we each prolly had about 30-40 mana left.

Had a real good time with this and I thank my wife Selkis and dear friend Raevan for thier help. I certainly couldnt have done it without them.
Qeynos Badge of Honor 5th quest!!! Woot!

With the latest UI patch.. the qeynos badge of honor quest HAS continued!!! here is what you do. Zone into the new Jagged Pine zone and proceed to kill gnolls to get up your faction.. turn in Gnoll Canines for faction.
Bards can just use charisma song right off the bat to speed things up. =) luck us

You say, 'Hail, Sergeant Caelin'
Sergeant Caelin says 'Hail, Limecherry. You have nothing to fear from the gnolls. My men and I have been sent from Qeynos to help defend Fort Jaggedpine should those worthless curs make the mistake of assuming this will be a place of easy plunder. I've fought and slain scores of gnolls in my time. Were I not bound to my post here I would go forth and drive them from their dark cave to the north myself. However, I can offer you a [bounty], should you choose to take such a mission upon yourself.'

You say, 'what bounty'
Sergeant Caelin says 'If you choose to go and fight against the gnolls, I shall offer a bounty for every gnoll canine that you return to me. You look a bit more adventurous then many of those that live in this settlement. They seem a bit [docile].'

You say, 'who is docile'
Sergeant Caelin says 'Perhaps it comes from living in harmony with nature for an extended period of time but they are more concerned with trading food recipes and doing arts and crafts. I have offered to give them some basic training in the arts of war but they seem to have no interest. This is a dangerous world in which we live and failure to acknowledge that has meant the downfall of many a society. I won't let this happen on my watch, provided my [men] are on their toes.'

You say, 'What men'
Sergeant Caelin says 'Guard Bossamir is a model soldier and a good man. I'm happy to have him watching my back. That Finewine character however, he is not worth the cost of the sword he wields! All he does is whine and complain. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and his family enrolled him in the guard to teach him some discipline but I've had no luck with him. He hasn't even turned in a [shift report] for weeks. Captain Tillin will bust me down to private if I don't deliver those soon.'

***Kills Gnolls and turn in Gnolls fangs otherwise Sergeant caelin will just say "you have not proved yourself worth to our cause". You need to be at least amibile to him. when you are...***
You say, 'what shift report'
Sergeant Caelin says 'You have been helpful in our defense efforts. However, I can not be too careful about whom I trust with carrying this information. If you truly consider yourself an ally to Qeynos then no doubt you have assisted the city in its defense before. Show me your Qeynos Badge of Honor and I'll know I can trust you fully. I'll place my mark upon it should anyone question your authority to do this service for me.'
***hand him your Qeynos badge of Honor and you will receive "Marked Qeynos Badge of Honor" in return along with "A warning note/report" to give to Guard Finewine. Sorry I don't have the dialogue for that but trust me***

*to your right and within eye site is Guard Finewine. He is standing by the other house back entrance*

You say, 'Hail, Guard Finewine'
Guard Finewine says 'Yeah. Hi. Lovely place this. Humid, dark, wild animals all over the place, man eating plants, snakes and bugs finding their way into my armor and biting me where a man ought not be bit. And if [Bossamir] is right, we're soon to be cut down by ravaging gnolls. Why-oh-why did I get assigned to this job? Why wasn't I assigned to Qeynos where a man can get a decent meal and sleep in a nice bed at night? Oh I'm sorry. Did I say that out loud?'

You say, 'What Bossamir'
Guard Finewine says 'Hmm. . . Yeah, I have this tendency to prattle on when I'm completely miserable. According to what my colleague Bossamir has heard, these gnolls may be tougher then we thought. But that would be par for the course anyway with the way my pitiful life is going. Woe is me. The people in this backward settlement hate me, Sergeant Caelin hates me and I assume Kane hates me too because he sent me to the armpit of Antonica on a suicide mission.'

*gave him the Warning letter/note*
Guard Finewine says 'So he wants to send me to jail simply because I'm not filling out some silly reports? How can I be expected to think in such a decrepit state? Maybe you could help me. If I had a meal worthy of someone of my breeding then maybe I could think. Bring me something elegant, I don't want anything dull and pedestrian. I don't know what I want though. Do you have any suggestions?'

**I have not completed this part of the quest yet.. I'm only going on hearsay**
((((Guard Finewine wants some dryad or potameid pate first before he will part with the report. Finewine then says he wants panther pate and will give you a no drop brandy for the dryad/potameid pate.

--Dryad, Potameid pate
-First you need Dryad meat (which will lower your faction with Dryads and they are everywhere in this zone) or Potameid meat (trivial 151)
-foraged plant shoots
-brandy
-spices
-combine in an oven or spit which will result in a +4 wisdom banquet meal for the dryad recipe and +4 intelligence banquet meal for the potameid recipe.
thank you Bogfly for this recipe and info

---panther pate
-no drop panther liver from JP panthers
-foraged plant shoots
-no drop brandy from guard (see above)
-spices
-combine in an oven or spit
---combine is currently broke on this (????)
Corrupt Faction
# Mar 15 2002 at 9:25 AM Rating: Good
Rather than doing the irritating inert potion quest (which has low faction hits anyway), do the tackbox quest that is self contained in south qeynos. Beside the faren (sp?) guy fishing on the docks in SQ (not the one where the boat docks, the other), you will find a tacklebox in the water, pick it up, and hand it to Faren, get Hurrieta's Dress. Take that to the male Ironforge Merchant at their smithy that's between the bank and the arena, he gives you hurrieta's bloody dress. Destroy the dress, rinse and repeat. The box respawns about as fast as it takes you to run back to Faren once you get the sequence down.

You get + and - factions doing this, the nice thing is, you get only net positive faction, as when you get a - hit on one part, you get a + for that faction on the other that is bigger. In 30 minutes you can go from dubious to amiable or better with the good guards, corrupt guards, kane bayle, antonius bayle, circle of unseen blah, and like 3 more qeynos factions.

Just a little clarification. It is Fireprides you are looking for and Ton Firepride is the name of the guy you need to hand the tunic in to.
Getting to NON KOS Status with Corrupt guards
# Feb 20 2002 at 1:36 PM Rating: Decent
Sorry for the Dup. post.

If you are at all concerned with your KOS status with corrupt guards, there is an easy way to fix this. An EASY quest in High Hold Pass, increases corrupt faction, without hurting Good guard Faction.

Worked for me.

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=263

Raise all the bad people faction and no NEG faction hits. I did this 3 times and became NON KOS to Corrupt guards, might need more if DEEP KOS. But this should help

Dark Elf
# Nov 06 2001 at 4:47 PM Rating: Decent
I think this is a very nice item in general better yet for my Cleric do to he can't cast see invisibility . I am a Dark Elf (Innoruuk) and atm I am doing this quest I have the 2nd Badge and have the items to do 3rd Badge pry gonna get it as soon as I post this , Being Dark Elf I am naturally KOS to Qeynos npc's other than the Bloodsabers they used to like me but I have scored so much good faction with Qeynos from doing my Aegis Of Life quest I'm Ally to the good npc's of Qeynos and had no problem getting this quest or getting the 1st two Badge's being KOS to corrupt guards of Qeynos is not an issue doing this quest , If you are KOS simply have a druid to assist you on quest and get puppy form while you roam around Qeynos even tho corrupt guards are still -ready to attack- they will not attack puppy form or atleast they didnt attack me , I would suggest that any Dark Elf Cleric who has gotten the Aegis Of Life should do this quest so far it has proved to be easy and from what I read about how to get the final Badge I don't think I'll have any trouble at all , only thing is if your Dark Elf and doing this you wont be able to go to the underground evil Guild in Qeynos but if you already did AoL you can't do that anyway .

"Cuz we all know Rangers got sux hit points" - whatever you say, dumbo - I was a 52 ranger when I took down Oobnopterbevny on my own, without anyone's help. Was not exactly easy but not too hard as well. Root her pet, then melee her and use firestrike a couple of times.

CM her Banshee Aura, root her pet, make sure you've got resist/endure fire up, and mag res equipment on, and she should be no prob. About 2400hp, and hits for upper 90's but not fast, and with good AC, she's a cinch. Good luck

I don't play on a PvP server, but I'm surprized that noone that plays on one has made any comments. I keep hearing how two of the most important things on a PvP is No Drop Armor, and See Invis. If I understand correctly, if this had resists also, It would be perfect.

Well actually as far as i know only rallos zek allows for looting of an item after a pvp combat, and possibly sullon zek but as for tallon and vallon they are money loot only.

Yes you can do this quest if you are KOS to corrupt guards.. just beware if Leitanant Dagarok is up cuz he will take you donw fast.. got whacked by him once.. he is mean.. 700+ HT.. 270 slashes.. but overall not bad.. that is only thing that may stop you from completing quest... but i am VERY VERY Kos to corrupt guards of Qeynos and my faction with good guards cant get any better (corrupt cant get worse) and i wear the Qeynos Badge of Honor.... I wear the highest honor possible from my home town, and no amount of slaying of their evil guards will has stopped me.. Fraknly VI would be idiotic if they made a Good Qeynos quest that required you to NOT be kos to corrupt guards... they are corrupt so why should they step in way of you completing a Quest dealing with the good members of Qeynos

Beware

RE: Beware
# Jan 30 2002 at 11:06 PM Rating: Default
I finished this quest last night and I am KoS to corrupt guards) I had previously spent 2 levels killing corrupt guards in West Karana and my faction standing with them could not get any worse.

As a 54 magician, the only NPC I had to worry about was Lt Dagarok (sp?) in N Qeynos. He does occasionally patrol out to the front gate and will agro you if you are talking to Vegalys Keldrane. (With a double slash for 331 and HT for 701, I ran out of hitpoints in a heartbeat.)

When trying this solo, the only difficulty I had was killing the rats without pulling Azibelle, her pet, the four spectres and both rats at once. (Mage pet can handle 4 at once but the other four came for me.)

Perhaps my technique for pullng the rats was poor or it was because I was KoS, but eventually I teamed up with a 52 Mage (Thanks Zalroth :)), who was not KoS to corrupt guards and could single pull the rats.

Targeting Azibelle past the spectres and her pet can be solved by getting a corrupt-friendly player (or hastily created human necro) to target Azibelle and run back to the pull point, where /assist will allow you to target her. Then Azibelle and pet can be pulled without adds from max range (300ft) with a bolt or arrow if there is a ranger around.

All in all, a fun quest and well worth the efforts

My ranger is a level 42 half elf that started in Surefall Glade. He has been KOS to the Corrupt Qeynos Guards since he was level SEVEN. I did just fine out in the plains without ever going to the bank, and at 15 I got camouflage, so that helped out too.

The corrupt guards mainly patrol at night. During the daytime, the only guards you really need to worry about are the two at the dock, the one by the clock, and Lieutenant Dagarok. Dagarok is a VERY high level shadow knight, posted right behind Sneed's store, and he patrols around the small pond there on occasion. Even at level 20 he can still drop you flat with his harm touch from 30 yards away, so watch out!

RE: Beware
# Sep 28 2001 at 5:57 AM Rating: Decent
For one, they kill the investigator when he becomes your pet. For 2, doing the quest is hard when you're being HTed for 300+

I'm dubious as a result of the quest, and I failed the last part.. I think if I restart the quest I'll end up KOS and then it'll be a pain..

This quest really isnt that hard. Just make sure that the lvl 50 corrupt guard isnt up when you do the quest. Then.. heres the fun part.

Walk around Qeynos and kill all the corrupt guards before you begin the quest. That way the investigator wont die.

It's a permanent effect. Not castable, and doesn't use up a buff spot. You can see anyone invis while you are wearing it.
