Could just be tears of joy, though. Finally got one of these for my little blind Human Monk. Perfect item. More Ac than Sarnak Hide mask he was wearing before. No Weight. J-O-Y!
Hehe, if I weren't sucj a faction wuss, i'd have just Gone Ikky though, and it wouldn't be an issue. Oh well:)

This mask would be great for any human or erudin, except the ones with sight altering spells. :) 7 ac is pretty good for a mask, shur there 35 ac masks that drop, but if you tol me more than 20 people had one of them i would question your sainity. Heat sight is infravision, so for blind erudins and paladins this mask is slmost a must, unless you can get a better vision item, or can summon coldstones. :)

All you people that say its a crap mask are fools, and yes it probably is only good for a monk. Just because an item is not good for your class doesnt mean its crap. I am a 55 monk and this item would be great for me, 7ac is alot on a monk mask.

I swear to you items like this were put in the game so that the guilds who kill them have something they can sell. Which has no use for them, and will fetch a few bucks to buy regents for spells which are consumed by the hundreds on raids...

One man's trash is another man's treasure....ALWAYS keep that in mind. This is by far a good piece of armor, seriously, look at mask AC in general and this is at least in the top 50% for AC, little STR, a resist, and then Heatvision....not bad at all.
Also, in agreement with the "monk only" crap I keep seeing. If all low wieght items are monk only then I better start selling my baked food to monks. I also have some tinkered Stalking Probes (5 charges eye of Zoom ALL ALL weigth 0.1) that obviously are for monks.
Low weight does not mean monk only, it just makes it more desirable for monks.
Also, and just a question here, Are the people that complain about high weight on items that are usable by monks the same ones complaining that low weight items are monk only?

About the Stalking Probles: If that's the Eye of Zomm thing, I suspect you may actually have a market, from the high-level monks that haven't yet camped for the Holgresh spirit beads that do the same thing. :-) Baked goods are a little harder to sell (unless they have good stats) since most Monks I know these days can make a passable Fish Roll.
For sure. Top 50% for ac. Off a mob that is in the top 5% for difficulty. Risk Vs. reward.... nice twinking item, though. I'll give it that. I'd stick that on my level 11 warrior any day.
Once again, it comes down to a matter of risk vs reward. As a cleric, I wear a mask of war. MUCH easier to get than this and it gives 9 wis in addition to the same AC.

An Enshrouded Viel is a common drop in HS and is infinately better. Hell it's only moderately better than a Sarnak-hide mask. If you can kill Velketor you can kill Lord Dolemite, and he has better monk items with sight effects.
I am a 47 monk and would love to have this. A definite upgrade from my Split Paw mask. YEA YEA YEA 47 with split paw armor! I am what you might call a ghetto monk. Anyway, I would not be totally upset is any night blind class wanted to roll on this but like many others have said once you are high enough to hunt in Velks, most folks would pass on it. This gives ghetto monks like me hope hehe. Or maybe I will just save the trouble and buy one. NAAA I need better weapons P....and hence I stay ghetto.

Sorry, your not the only jewish ghetto monk in Norath. First, maybe. Deffinatly not the only one. And as for this mask iff all you people dont want it I will double the merchants offer on Veeshan. Just send me a tell my names are listed and like most I am on alot.
um, i think the vendors offer like 20pp for these, or something like that... Not many people crazy enough to sell this for 40pp.... ;)

I will say this... the guy that posted the pic (and got the item after we killed Velketor)... IS a monk! He's also one of, I think... 2 people at the raid that had any interest in it. War,Clr,Pal,Bard,Rog,Shaman,Sk,Ran all get better masks as common drops from Western Wastes... which leaves this mask for Druids and Monks.

There should be stuff like this on Luclin for a level 20... The stuff for a level 20 may even be better. Also you will have a very nice chance to get good loot as Luclin is going under the new loot code.

I guess the heat sight is really nice for barbs, euridites, and humans but other than that it doesn't seem that nice for a lvl 55. I'm just a lowly youngen so please don't flame this post. If you could get this at say lvl 20 it would be really nice, but alas you can't.
You could get this at lvl 20. It isn't nodrop, you just have to have an uber friend or alot of money.

just so you know, human monks are not the only night blind race/class. ALL humans, erudites, and barbarians are night blind. oh, and dont tell me it should be monk only cause 0.0 weight. if u think it should be monk only u have obviously never been to velious cause like everything drops there is like 0.1 weight or below almost, and anyways, EVERY piece of monk's armor could weight 0.5 and they would still be under their weight allowance, so will all the monks plz quit screaming "omfg this is a MONK item look it says we can equip and it weighs like nothing MONK!!!!!!!!!!!!" oh btw this item sucks for a velk drop that dude is extremely hard, the only reason a monk would be awarded this is cause none of the other melees would want it probably cause lets face it this item has fairly weak ac/str by the time u can get it

7AC, 4 STR, Cold resist, 0 weight, PLUS infravision. Very nice mask for anyone who gets it. If anyone makes a comment about monks should get this, I shall keeeel them.

Attention K-Mart shoppers: THIS ITEM SUX0RZ!!!! If this item dropped in say.... guk.. it would be a good item. But it doesn't.. you have to kill Velketor the Sorceror to get this. The only halfway decent thing about this is that it's droppable so you can twink with it.

Yes, it is good for any class that gets this. Monks, as well. Especially those no-night-sight human monks.
Good for dark nights as a barb when you have no shaman around.
