Hey, it's a skill

I take tailoring as it is, a skill. A character who is a master in several skills is just more self reliant and well rounded. Shows that they aren't just a leveling machine, and taking on the harder non-profitable skills shows that they work hard developing their Characters.

I feel that this Armor, as all the Imbued Halfling Armor, is well worth it. I make this stuff all the time, and I have been selling it non-stop on the Nameless.

On my server, most Halflings seem to be Druids or Rogues. I see soooo many lvl 30-40 druids TPing folks around, bagging up the cash, but walking around with pieces of tattered leather or worse on, or not much better. I show this to them and any piece I have sells for very good prices, especially the hard to get shoulders.

Not all just wisdom either, some just like having armor blessed by their God that only they can wear, sort of a status symbol.

So, keep up the tailoring folks, it is worth it and a lot of fun, and your good skilled name will be spread across Norrath.

Also, start making black panther armor or tigerraptor cloaks, and then tell me about not being profitable. If you have the skill, they will bring you the stuff, and sell the cloak for 7K and give you 2K for your time. Now for me, and I have made many thousands of pp from tailoring, it is well worth the time invested.

Lord Apathos Rex, Master Artisan of all Skills.

Talk about the most INSANE skill... tailoring (although I've heard poison making to be pretty close)...
It's interesting to see how most people shy away from the hard skill with the least rewards. These items aren't easy to get, but none-the-less, they are decent items. Velious tailoring is AMAZING however, and is a nice reward for the nutty time that must be put into this skill.
Face it people... if it was the Easiest thing in the world to do, and had THE best stats... everybody and their twink would have one!

I've been making some decent pocket change off Halfling cultural stuff. The boots, legs and cloak sell quickly for 80-100pp and are targetted towards players that want wis in these slots but can't afford GEBs or gatorscale.
um. nice and worth the effort

The halfling cultural tailoring was in the game long before the velious items. For a halfling druid, these are some of the best items for wisdom. For example, the boots in this armor set are about the best wisdom item a little halfling druid can get http://eqdb.allakhazam.com/item.html?item=3812 Sure there are individual items that are not uber (like this one), but for a halfling tailor wishing to skill up to make velious tailoring, this offers a great alternative to making Wu's armor for the skill ups (and selling armor to merchants).

In my opinion, the boots are great gifts for friends. visit http://www.eqtraders.com for more recipes on how to make this and other fine pieces of gear. How much to sell for? I'm not sure. Never sold one. Would I give to newbies? If I had some spares, yes.

Are you a cleric? you can wear better armor than this. Are you a druid? Then the Vale Leathers are some of the best items you can buy at lower levels (or make for your self).

actually, and sadly for Halfling tailors, the Acolyte's Anklet (a no-drop +2 wis item for feet from a Rivervale Cleric quest) is obtainable from about level 10 onwards, and it becomes very easy once a druid hits 14 and gets Bind and SoW (it needs some travelling around, to Freeport, Feerrott and Erud's Crossing). This means that the market for the boots is limited to the Human and Half-Elven Clerics and Druids (and to a much smaller extent Rangers and Paladins) worshipping Karana.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 09 2001 at 9:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The biggest use for cultural tailoring is to up your skill to make velious items. Don't acts if these are supposed to be big sellers, because as a general rule cultural tailored stuff is so exspensive and hard, and with that much money mist people could get something better for less.
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 09 2001 at 7:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Sadly halfling tailorers and karana worshippers seem to be getting shafted when it comes to the cutural stuff they can make. All the other races cultural stuff makes this look like junk. For the effort to raise tailoring just to make this and to get all the components the guy at verant in charge of creating this didnt think it through well. Thank god for velius tailoring its worth the effort.

Hey, don't forget us Wood-Elf tailors of Tunare! The stats for the Wood-Elven tailoring follow those for Halfling tailoring pretty closely, except that we get +CHA rather than +DEX with the Imbues.

These shoulders are not particularly valuable on a mature server where Braided Ivy cords are readily available, but still, it's definitely worth 50pp or so.

In general, this is decent enough stuff FOR SOME SLOTS, especially for druids, at lowish-mid levels - say 25-35. The Reinforced cultural tailored armors are only generally better by 1 AC, so there's no great advantage there EXCEPT that they provide a cheaper route to getting to above skill 200 than the Velious tailoring (which is at a minimum 30pp a shot).
