One does not mass murder anything in MM Castle. It is full of Dark Elves, Gargoyles, and Vampires. All of them are in need of death. Ridding the world of an evil menace does not constitute murder. But sure, go in there and kill a whole bunch of them please.
I have completed this quest. I wear the pitted Iron Ring. Granted we are killing things that are near in value or greater for the ring slot, I chose to do this quest a long time ago, before PoP and Luclin.
Such comparable rings are the Innovator's ring from Xanamech, Ring of Lightning from Tormax, Wing Ring from Dromok , ect. These are all equally if not geater rings, with much less effort involved. However as I has stated, I had already invested much time into this quest and i was going to finish it. Thats just the way i am. If i set my sights on something , eventually i well get it, as i do everything i can to make sure that happens.
Some things to Note about this quest... AT all times it seems you need MAX ally CoV faction. I Used to carry the "vial of kromzek blood" on my person, so the next time my guild caught , Klandicar, Sontalak, Zlandicar, ect., i would be ready. So I caught Klandicar up and we kiled him. No biggy, till i had everyone zone into DN and i said the phrases to get ready to spawn Garzicor. Fooker ate my blood, and said "I will do nothing for the likes of you", I was kindly from the klandicar kill and thought little of that issue before hand.
So i redid the quest again. from step 1, except i still had my "Assembled Naginata", I did have to make everything fin order to recieve that "vial of kromzek blood" again. I caught Klandicar up again and we killed him, except this time i zoned into DN when kland was at 20% to save myself from the faction hit.
Anyways, still buffed and ready i had the guildies play with this dragon. The first one has the Dragon Construct model and has abit more hit points than a normal construct. I can solo those. This "Garzicor's Corpse" hit near 200's and had no special attacks, I'd guesstimate 100k+ hp, or so. The second dragon, ( Phara Dar model) Hit high 300's, seemed to triple or quad. Roughly 200k - 250k Hp. Had an AE slow with some DD damage, although i didnt note how much the DD was at the time.. It wasnt like "Silver breath" like the unresistable 400 dd from Kland, Doze, ect. It seemed like 200ish or less, maybe i was resisting it partially , i dunno. Like i said, i wasnt paying attention to the AE damage since at the time it seemed rather minor.
Took us 3-4 mins or so to kill the final dragon, but then again i dont think anybody had GoD buff on at the time. I didnt think it had a "Dragon fear" AE as well, so 1/2 the raid was running in fear for a good bit lol. WOuld say this encounter is roughly Klandicar level, maybe easier, just wasnt prepared for the AE fear.
I personally like the quest alot, i rated it well. For an older quest the reward is still nice. Also i dont have to spend DKP on a ring or equal or near value and save my points for something better suited for a different slot. All in all , this quest is difficult somewhat, but worth it , i think, if you stick it out. Then again, this quest is not for everybody. I would rather quest an item than loot it off some uberkill_09, but thats just me.
For the crude difficulty of this quest, the ring is a very bad reward. The Naginata awarded is much much better and very awesome. Yes there are better weapons out there and some NToV stuff with better ratios but there are also much much better rings. Vex Thal has rings that are like 30ac 20 to all stats effect:Flowing thought 7 all/all. I suggest not doing this quest unless you are seeking the weapon. It would be utterly rediculous.
I would have to agree that Vex Thal has much better rings. However, for someone that doesn't have a guild that can take down the emperor in Ssra much less get to him, this ring would be a much better ring than what I have. I plan to do this quest one day when my smithing gets high enough.
Ok everyone's complaining about the 5 charges, but has anyone that has this ring checked to see if it's rechargable? That would be good to know and if anyone has this info it would be wonderful to hear from you.
Quote: "Here's an idea: with your Giant-slaying weapon from this quest, go on quick Kael Raids every weekend for six months with 4 other guilds and get 20 players in your guilds Ring of Destruction, a much better ring:"
Are you kidding? You have obviously never helped take down a high level velious mob or you would not make such a ridiculous statement.
Besides, this is not a warrior weapon by any stretch. There are dozens of 1h weapon combos that make this a pile. There a ton of 2h weapons that are considerably better than this weapon as well. Teh ring however, is still on of the better rings avaialble to casters.
As a weapon for the level of play we are talking about the quest reward is mediocre at best.
As a ring the reward is fair to above average but the amount of work involved getting it makes it hard to justify.
Good to know you're comparing this quest to the killing of the Avatar of War. For a moment there, I was starting to take you seriously until you ran that by everyone.
This is actually pretty lame... 5 charges. Fair enough if it was unlimited charges, but considering the length and difficulty of this quest, 5 charges is a joke.
You must be on crack, this is one of the best caster rings in the game, unlimited charges would make it TOO uber, Verant still hase to balence the game, not just make casters rule it

All three are no drop, and if a caster gets this ring he will be sooooooo happy! This ring rox. If a caster gets the nagita, he will not like it, no not at all :(

Wrong. It isn't. This ring is awesome. Best ring I can use till now is either vel. diamond or Diamond Wedding Band from ToFS. This ring kicks ***... 10int 50hp 50mana... and ac and all. Very nice!
For caster everything with hp, mana and that much int rox cause it frees up slots for resists. = I would do this quest for ring, no question about it.
I'm sure you WOULD do this quest for the ring, given your druthers... but YOU WILL NOT! Suggest it to your guildmates, show them the links to the quest, and then see how long it takes for the ridicule to begin.
A Warrior with the Naginata is going to be a HELL of a lot more useful than you with some "freed up slots for resists". You have a very selfish outlook.
Dude if the only reason your guild would help you was so that you would be of better use to the guild then your guild sux! I am not personaly high enough to be involved in raids and stuff but my guild is much more closely bound than that. I have read many posts where raids were done more for the fun of doing something together than for uberness. And if uberness is all that matters to you, you might as well buy an account on E-Bay.

To make yourself better so your friends can benefit, right? I mean, if you only have 255 int and innate resists, your hurtin... especially when it comes time to get out fast for an evac or whatnot... because your group is gonna die because your were took out by a DoT or something. And yes, he may be selfish to say what he did... but who made you anyone to judge his motives? I would liek to have one of these rings as well.

do you actually realize that 150 mana over 4 ticks is additional 37,5 mana per tick. just so you know clarity 2 is 11 mana per tick. just the numbers... think again.
Actually, given the way spdat parsers usually show mana regen, this is more likely 150mana/tic for 4 tics, i.e. 600 extra in 24 seconds.
The fact it has charges make it rather less uber, but the stats are great anyway (not many rings with 50 mana on them), the effect is just icing on the cake...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you cast: Flames of mana spout from your ring and engulf you. When someone casts: Soandso is blinded by a manaflare. Spell cast on you: You are blinded by a manaflare. Spell fades: The manaflare subsides.
