Pretty uber for its day. I found a piece on an old toon I was cleaning out. Maybe I will try to MQ it for a baby.
Fight smarter not harder.
Not difficult
# Jul 27 2003 at 10:03 AM Rating: Good
This quest really is not difficult, just requires patience waiting for the mobs. I did this for my 63 enchanter, dual boxing my 62 cleric. I had a 63 necro partner also. Gkrean was extremely easy, we cleared the PoZ's out of the way, pacify pulled him, then used a DC pet and necro pet to kill (I mana drained him with the chanter to prevent any CH's). Vilefang again we did with the 3 of us, I healed the necro pet once. (No enchanter pets used on this guy).
The hardest part was the Taskmaster in Great Divide. We tried this with the 3 characters and ended up too low on mana to finish. Once a 65 SK joined us, he went down easily, although I did have to refresh slow once. The Taskmaster has a ton of HP but only max hits for around 280.
Good luck to those trying and it's well worth the effort, just find a tracker to keep an eye out for the elusive mobs =)

Anyone know whether portions of this quest can be MQed? I have the staff seargeant's head on my warrior, can I hand that in, the usual MQ way, for someone else to get the circlet?
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 06 2003 at 5:09 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) first thing u should look at is the affliction haste 3 that right there means shm necro and any other caster that has affliction type spells. any tank and or melle that does not have affliction type spells is a complete moron like that monk he must be lvl 2. all melles can get 10 times better the helm. Wake up!!!!
Quest Fixed

As of 1/5/03 the quest has been changed. Rolandal no longer gives you back an imbued talisman. He returns the old worn talisman. Take this back to Ralgyn and he claims he cannot be sure it belongs to Glanitar and to take it to Kardakor. Take the talisman to Kardakor and he returns it as Glanitar's Imbued Talisman. Hand this in to Ralgyn for the Circlet of the Falinkan.

# May 27 2003 at 6:18 AM Rating: Decent
I recently completed this quest. If you turn in the four items that Rolandal requests, he will give you both the Old Worn Talisman AND the Glanitar's Imbued Talisman. You do NOT need to visit Kardakor again.

Just take Glanitar's Imbued Talisman to Ralgyn and get your circlet.
Location of Ralgyn?

Can someone please post directions on how to get to Ralgyn fromt he top of SS. I can get to the dragon area past the stairs, but dont know where to go from there? If I follow the path all the way to the right, I end up falling for about 100hp, and wind up at the begging. If I follow the path all the way to the left, I come to a large gate, and past it are 3 named cubes in a huge circular room, but dont see anywere to go from there?

Only map I have is of the golem area - need to get to Ralgyn to initiate this quest :o)

Ralgyn is one of two wurm looking dragons just before you enter Yelinaks lair. I believe he is the one on the left. He's pretty deep in the shrine. He cons ally to me with ally cov faction. not sure where my yelinak faction is so I would say it is most likely your yelinak is only improved, but not required.

Has anyone found Ralgyn since he got moved in the recent SS change?

Yup, he's in a room with a large pulsing ball, quite a ways into the shrine. He's in the same room as the mob that customizes helmets, and he's the second mob on the left as you enter.
Nice caster hat
# Jan 17 2002 at 12:23 AM Rating: Decent
For all those that say this item sux, look at it from a caster's perspective, then it becomes very attactive.

50hp/75mana + any stats and/or resists = nice item. Throw in 12 ac and it becomes even nicer.

The only roadblock in the quest is vilefang. Finding him when he's up and gathering the right amount/composition of people to kill him will be your biggest challenge.

FYI - the quest is working correctly as of jan 2002.
RE: Nice caster hat

Quest works fine (did it 2 month ago)

Vilefang is a piece of crap, 3 lvl 60+ can drop it w/o big trouble, the only problem is to go to him (deep into DN, just before Zland lair, in the pool)
the Taskmaster Abyott (in GD)is a gimp, 1 55+ group with shaman and chanty (for tash mal slow) is enough
the hardest mob is Gkrean, cleric in the Arena, but you'll usually go there with a raid or at least 2 groups

this quest has a REALLY good reward for a not too hard thing, and on a necro it really rocks (-33% casting times to ALL: DoTs, Debuffs and Charms..)

it's also a more than nice item for shamans and chantys

the only 2 other Affliction Haste 3 items i know being the belt of LCEA Katta (Katta) and the bracelet of Eashen of the Sky (NToV), it's really worth the quest

any new word?
# Aug 30 2001 at 9:46 AM Rating: Default
Can anyone give information about this quest still being broken? Also, can anyone give information about the ability to multi-quest the items from Kael and DN? I'd also be intersted to know if this has a helm graphic.

Thanks greatly,

quest is actually pretty damn easy if you have the manpower.

get 2 57+ groups and you can do this whole quest every day. I don't know about you but my helm right now is 16ac 5sta 5wis 15mana. This one is better than mine. 4ac dont mean anything if you dont have any hitpoints to protect.

1sta only equals 3hps at lvl 60 for priests.
Best part about this quest is... none of the items are ever camped... no one does this quest ever because all their melee are usually on kael faction. I'm not sure on the kael guy's pulling setup but it can't be that much harder than keldor the orb dood. IE ranger + snare + call of the hero. rinse and repeat till you get yer mob solo... kill outside his spawn place so he dont gate and yer golden... I'd farm this every day if I had 2 groups to work with that weren't on kael faction.

Quest is broken
# Aug 17 2001 at 5:29 PM Rating: Default
This Quest is broken since the patch from august 15th.

DONT hand in the Talisman you get in return from Rolandal for Ralgyn. I just did and he gave me back an old worn talisman instead of the Circlet (canĀ“t be a faction problem cause im ally). I petitioned now and hope a GM will find a solution :(

secondary melee
# Aug 06 2001 at 4:15 PM Rating: Default
yeah, the main warriors would probably not want to use this item, but what about the sk/pally/rangers? even monk or rogues? if they are managing their agro correctly, they should not be getting hit on raids. i would love to toss this on for our little romps through TOV as a nice little resist hat with some ac "just in case" which my current resist hat(frogloc hat) just doesn't do.
RE: secondary melee
# Aug 09 2001 at 1:02 PM Rating: Decent
A ranger of Tunare wouldn't wear this, if you are in the Arena anyways, it would be better to just do the Helm of the Tracker quest and get a helm a LOT better than this one. Tolan's helm is better than this one, and there are a lot of items in the game for the head slot with the same or better resists than this.

I was in a group that took down the Taskmaster, I had main aggro of the guy for most of the fight being a 58 ranger with my epics you tend to do that a lot. He did over 38000 points of damage to me and it took 4 healers nearly full bars of mana to keep me alive. The Taskmaster has a minimum of 100K hitpoints and hits like a freight train. This item would definitly not be suitable for any melee to wear, the AC just isn't any good for the amount of effort involved to get it.
RE: secondary melee
# May 06 2002 at 1:23 AM Rating: Default
I would wear this over tolan's, in most cases. 6ac vs some useful stats and resists is worth it when you aren't tanking.

But no way in hell is it worth the effort for a melee.

For a caster, it's like getting 13wis or 13int (with the mana). That's good, even better in the form of direct mana for when you cap wis/int.
RE: secondary melee
# Aug 14 2001 at 1:24 PM Rating: Default
hrmm, i actually read more about this quest. your right doesn't seem worth the effort for melee. and well, ya got me on the ranger hat part because i willingly admit i dont know jack about the tunare quests.
RE: secondary melee

I dont know about other classes. But as far as monks go this helm far outstrips any thurg kael or SS quest armor helm. I have the head and the teachings and while I feel bad about depriving someone of their mana :P. I d much rather have 50 hps 12 ac 7str 5dex and 5 fr cr mr. I believe someone mentioned ToV. I would definately wear this while pulling there (unless I had a frostreavers crown, white dragon helm, Cowl of mortality, crown of the undead corpsemaster, headband of many visions.. you get the idea). Also 50 hps is a substantial increase to my basic stats. It would take me from 2350 to 2400 and Id feel a lot more comfortable with that number. Anyways im gonna do the quest cause im allmost done really. And i ll buy the vilefang mq probably P

Uhh....might wanna look at the stats on your current resist hat. Might notice the AC is exactly the same as this.
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 06 2001 at 2:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) DEFINTELY a monk item.
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 08 2001 at 9:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I so wish you'd get banned permanently... you're tired, you're getting lame, and the novelty of the joke is long since gone. GROW UP!!!
# Aug 06 2001 at 11:29 AM Rating: Default
Dis be crap for warrior, no self respecting warrior dat could do dis quest would even bother to do it, dis helm not gud enough! Da stats may be nice, but da ac way too low and every warrior know dat ac is GOD to us. :bows to the god of ac: Now luking at it from a caster perspective, it pertty gud, der be better helms wit better stats but dis have some decent ac for a caster. But me still not tink dis quest be near worth da reward. Me tink a monk or a druid would most benefit frum dis helmet, but definately not warriors, only warrior dat would like dis would be lvl 40 and under which wouldn't be able ta do quest.
Mixed opinion.
# Aug 06 2001 at 5:45 AM Rating: Decent
Well from my caster side, drool. From my rangers side its like oh kinda #$^#@ for such a quest.
# Aug 04 2001 at 12:46 PM Rating: Default
Rolandal in Wakening Lands also asks for the same items for his quest, are there two different quests that require the same items?

[Edit] lol nevermind, I didn't real the entire quest...
# Aug 04 2001 at 12:14 PM Rating: Default
you people are crazy, this has to be one of the best necro helms in the game, if not, the best caster helm in the game.

Paghk, look quickly, there goes the point.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 07 2001 at 8:41 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am a necro. Am I caster? Depends on the mob. I am always a necro though. Which is very good to know.
What happened to Risk vs Reward?
# Aug 04 2001 at 3:51 AM Rating: Decent
With all the new item submissions coming out as guilds take down the larger and harder mobs... one has to wonder what happened to Risk vs Reward?

This item, for the amount of effort and risk involved, plain sucks. Maybe not as disgusting as the sword from the Avatar of War but Verant needs a good kick in the head now.
No need
# Aug 03 2001 at 11:17 PM Rating: Default
No melee type would even WANT to do this quest, it is rather sucky for the lvl it takes to do it, DW, Tolan's all of that is better...MAYBE monks would want this, though i doubt it

b4 anyone says "this person's item, that person's item," I have something to say. This is an awesome item for anyone. Should probably be used for some kind of caster tho with the mana added. Very cool.
RE: oooo first post
# Aug 05 2001 at 11:10 AM Rating: Default
I go along with that, any class can really use this, even a melee, I even want one for my warrior.
RE: oooo first post
# Oct 06 2001 at 3:17 PM Rating: Decent
Maybe, but what level is your warrior? I can safely say that no 55+ warrior would want this item. The AC is too low.
