Thank you for that informative piece of knowledge. Oh, wait.. you didn't tell me anything about the armor itself...
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 01 2001 at 1:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) unfortunately these people are more and more common. =) totally overtwinked (and maybe not even with items that are good for their class!), no idea what they're doing, shouting 'TRAIN TO ZONE!' every two minutes, no matter where they are.

I hate to tell you but it is very well possible to sell the no-drop items, just get the money from the person and let them loot the body, I have done it many times for a bit of pp in LOIO.

Ya know, far be it from me to jump on the Whine-train but... I love helping newbs with Hand-made banded and decent weapons, but when a newly-guilded SK turns down FINE PLATE because she wants Flayed and the FP is not GOOD enough...

Well.... /guildremove XXXXXX

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 01 2001 at 2:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yes, people have different priorities. If I were the vilified female SK, I'd have graciously accepted the hand crafted FP armor...then pushed on with my own demented schemes! Mwahahahahaha!
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 01 2001 at 4:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have wondered why Iksars have some of these item restrictions as well.... we can wear COLDAIN skin... why not flayed skin? Why would an Iksar warrior be able to wear banded but not plate? At first, I figured that plate would not work with the Iksar's physical contours... but then why would banded work? It seems that banded would serve similar physical constraints to plate. Bronze too, for that matter. Why can my Iksar necro not wear golden chiten bracers? Do they somehow not fit on my wrist when they fit on the wrists of everything from gnomes to trolls? This is very confusing. Oh well, Iksar necros don't make very good low level necros due to the int and equiptment restrictions. We still make the best high level necros though. Go regen! :)

Iksar are a reptillian race, and that makes them susceptible to overheating. so they need to wear clothing/armor that can allow air to reach thier scaley hides, so they dont die from overheating.

thats just from a roleplay perspective.. dont flame me too much 8)
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 01 2001 at 9:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Iksar simply can't wear plate armor, supposedly it chafes their scales, but the overheating example is also reasonable. I don't know why they can't wear flayed, though, I suppose it was simply decided they couldn't.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 01 2001 at 9:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Although as an iksar you do have access to one type of plate i know of and that is that nice Royal Velium Frosted stuff from Icewell Keep which does have some nice stats good for any Iksar warrior and not to bad for a SK just no int
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 02 2001 at 7:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) bracers ahve 3 wis and int

FYI. Royal Velium Frosted fits most Chain Classes.
It's not a plate armour but a chain. The PoG armour is the same way along with KD and other SOV quest armour.

I know this is WAY off the topic but what the hell =) Royal Velium is not plate despite the graphic. It is a metal created from Velium which is basically ice. Not only would this circumvent the over heating issue but over time I figure it would melt and conture to the wearer's body therefore passing the chafing issue.

Look at me, I use big words!!

ya but in the same regard as lizards they are cold blooded so you get them to cold and they will fall over and go to sleep.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 02 2001 at 9:24 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Will someone tell me how we got from the subject of netted kelp to whether iksars can wear plate or not?

Well, for your edification, here is the generally unasked-for Whine Train breakdown:

a) whine about stoopid twink enchanters dressed in full Kelp armor (complete with substantial charisma penalties)

b) whine about stoopid twinks in LOIO selling no-drop items

c) whine about ungrateful twink SKs refusing good Fine Steel plate armor

d) whine about Iksars not being able to wear Fine Steel or Flayed Skin armor

e) whine about Iksars not being able to wear plate pieces

f) whine about royal velium looking like plate, but being wearable by Iksars

And, you guessed it, we're not interested in providing any information... just concerned about making this train as big and squeaky as possible :)

I think I need more coffee...
