#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 15 2002 at 6:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) These are a monk only item because of the weight! No other class can have them! If you don't immediately turn all these gloves over to my level 1 monk I am going to scream and kick and hold my breath 'till I turn blue!!!

K did you not know epic goes in hand slot? and beside most items monks claim should be "Monkable"
have stats that we could use. Judge a post by its logic not the signature at the bottom or the class
that posts it.

ooook, first of all do you want ALL the uber-ific gloves in the game, that'll be 400kpp. and my friend can turn blue, hehe, is funny as hell, we gave him a nickel to turn his face purple, 2 bucks to turn it blue, course he faitned when he was done though

yes it is the beginning of a full suit, and it is a pretty damn good one too. each of the pieces is (by itself) better than the old SMR, and the SMLeggings, are the best caster legs i've ever seen...
Enchanters and AC
# Aug 06 2001 at 7:49 AM Rating: Good
These gloves are awesome, in so far as AC is concerned. I can assume by the pieces encountered so far that, like netted kelp, it's going to be a full suit.

Here's my point of contention. Getting the enc to the end game with the best possible AC before you get there. Is there a way to do so without the uber guild in TOV. I personally have been there without benefit of being a member of an uber guild, but so many seem to think that they will never see this place and have no hopes of doing so. Anyone have suggestions of HOW to get a close 2nd without being in TOV. I would like personal accounts.

a cation is a positivly charged ion of an element. some form cations and some form anions ( neg charge ).

"Considering how you obviously have a hard time grasping the concept of the EQ-term 'farming' and what it truly means, let me spell it out for you: farming is working the same mobs over in rapid sucession for multiple respawns, in order to increase the chances of obtaining favorable drops. "

Not to take sides here but you described sounds more like "camping" than "farming". I understand "farming" to be clearing "green" mobs for their drop, usually marked by NOT taking other than the item(s) you are looking for. For example killing bats for wings, and leaving the fur or junk armour.

I could be mistaken, but that is my understanding.

Now, more on topic, yes they look as though they would be a very nice pair of gloves for my ENC.
awesome gloves

these gloves are obviously fantastic for a int caster. if their is a full suit of this stuff, ill be looking out for some since my guild farms ToV almost daily.

Lol, your guild farms ToV? Well you'd need about 500 members at least 80 55+ people on at all times (all in ToV) to farm ToV..

umm i dont have much more to say except you're an idiot.

Hey, moron:

Here is a Free Clue; the poster you responded to didn't say that his guild farmed all of ToV at all times, he simply said his guild farms ToV almost daily. That could mean his guild camps Quest Hall, west wing, north wing, etc at any given time almost daily simply for the drops. You could realistically work a small section of ToV, such as west hall ledge, with as few as 12 people - and any of these scenarios would indeed be considered to be 'farming ToV' by anyone with a fully functional brain-stem (which leaves you out in the cold, Presarc...)

Considering how you obviously have a hard time grasping the concept of the EQ-term 'farming' and what it truly means, let me spell it out for you: farming is working the same mobs over in rapid sucession for multiple respawns, in order to increase the chances of obtaining favorable drops. It does not mean clearing an entire zone of spawns and then holding the zone for an infinite amount of time, as your post would indicate.

Clueless noob; go back to Lower Guk. If he is an idiot, you must be positively comatose...
Good AC for gloves

Wow, that is really good AC for gloves, but, what do they look like on your char?
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 31 2001 at 10:43 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You sir, have mastered one line posts. Post count means little to nothing so if that's the reason for your posts, perhaps changing it/them might be better ;)

some of the stuff coming out of here is fantastic, nice resists for gloves, which is really only thing that matters by the time your uber enough toget these

I know I'm nit pickin', but come on. With all the icons they had for metallic looking gloves, they choose the one that looked like a set of leather gloves.

Ok, feel free to adjust my posting karma... :p
Reason
# Jul 30 2001 at 12:42 PM Rating: Default
I think the reason they use alot of generic icons, is so that it's easy to someone guess what classes can use a particular piece of gear.

As a cleric, I know that if I look at a corpse and see those gloves, it's not for a plate class, then I'd of course Identify who for.

But I do have to agree, there should be far more variety in the icons for all the items, particularly the flood of newer items falling from the named in ToV.

Heh, actually "metallic" doesnt mean it is metal, only metal-like or appearing to be metal-like. So if something has a shiny luster to it, it could be described as metallic. Hense "shiny" "metallic", which is actually redundant =/ using 2 adjectives to describe the same attribute =p

Actually not all metals are shiny. What most people think of as shiny metals are actually transition metals and not true metals, speaking from a chemistry point of view.

Mwahahahahahaha....watch my rating go through the floor.

Actually, all metals have a shiny luster in pure form. The term "transition metal" merely refers to metals that can form cations of different charges. For example, iron (which IS a transition metal) can have a +2 or a +3 charge as a cation, while lithium (which IS NOT a transition metal) will always have a +1 charge as a cation. Sorry for the periodic table lecture, but I had to give the CORRECT chemistry point of view.

thats funny. Gloves give far better protection then the robe. heh
Actually....

The sleeves have already been discovered, so it probably is the beginning of a full suit. :b
Hmmm

Are these gloves better than an SMR? And... is this the beginning of a say, full suit of Shiny Metallic armor? Probably not, but we'll see.
