this item is over rated and sucks pvp it couldent help anyone i know i have one all its good for is int mana and ac nothing else the effect is unrechargable and is easialy resisted.
As far as this item sucking in PvP, used both charges today in a PvP fight against a rogue and looted his Custom cowl of mortality. value of 90k or so on Rallo's. Any insta cast DD ITEM is always good for PvP. noob.

As a wizzy I would love to have this item, but I don't think that I am the best choice for this. Honestly, I would like to see this on a beastlord or enchanter before any other classes. The 35 ac is awesome for both classes, and the wis / int and mana just make it cake. As a wizzy, I find ac to be wasted on me, when it could have gone to a tanking hybrid who doesn't use bows, or to a enchanter who is always getting beatdowns. And the talisman of benovelance(sp) is a great range item for the pure wis casters. I would still love to have this awesome range slot item on my wizzy **** though.
YAY!!! FINALLY someone gives a shoutout to the chanters out there who get beatdowns quite frequently, which is all of us I guess. Anyway... I MUST HAVE THIS ITEM. Soooo cool. I want to hit 50 or higher ASAP if there is a chance of me getting this baby... /drool times infinity.
There's a difference between "not expendable" and "unlimited charges". If something is expendable then is vanishes when you use all the charges, but if it's not expendable then it is still there, just with 0 charges remaining.
A stein of Moggok has 5 changes of light healing, for example, but is still valuable when those are gone (not expendable). A potion ceases to be when all its charges are gone (expendable).
So it may no longer be expendable, but still only have 2 charges. I think if you sell it to a vendor and buy it back it will be recharged, but they usually make the difference between the sell price and the buy price insanely high. It used to be the Staff of Forbidden Rites (10 charges of Ressurection, any preist class) could be bought back for only a few hundered platinum more than it was sold for, but of course they nerfed it.
This is not entirely true. In order to "recharge" something at an NPC vendor you need to sell the same item fully charged item back to the same vendor first...then sell the item that is empty to them. Then you can buy them both back, fully charged. In the case of lore items, you will need to have two different characters with the items. Vendors don't care about lore flags. Good luck!
I'd say a talisman of benevolence pretty much owns this. Certainly easier to get and at 15wis instead of 10 with 55mana to 50mana, and 38hp (which has alot to be desired, but alot better than 0)
I think you missed the main point. The Talisman has 15 WIS when compared to this, so that tips the scale in its favor, if there was any doubt beforehand.
When all other stats are at a comfortable level, the Ac alone can make this item a pretty desired item. It is one of the highest ac items obtainable for ranged slots.
Yes, ive killed him so no bs about me being a noob plz ,)
those classes doesnt need AC so bad...
int and wis should be 200+ when ye can join a party to kill this guy...
so that leaves us with mana 50 in the rangeslot, oh well, plus 1 mana for each int/wis over 200 so lets make it mana 60.
Talisman of Benevolance would be alot better for the priests but dont get me wrong, I dont say this item is bad, im just saying its not that great (or uber as some would say).
Sorry but theres no such thing as risk vs reward. People can be resed corpses can be summoned. I see no risk at all in killing the SoRZ besides a little exp loss. Its more now Difficulty vs reward and this fits the bill, much like the rest of the drops from the statue. The expendable thing sucks but you just have to be a little more carfull about where you right click.
Yes, since the statue is slowable he is not as hard as the Vindicator, however, I think that if you can take down the statue with NO deaths, then you deserver an item like this.

Overnight, I thought about this item more. It's an "OK" item that fell short of being a "Great!" item by one thing. The fact that it's expendable. (Having 2 charges is rather lame as well.)
IMO, this is another item where the risk does NOT equal the reward. Ever accidentally use a charge on an item while trying to look at it? Would be a sad moment to lose this to a buggy mouse or lag.
Anyway, (I'm praying that the item developing guys at VI read this) treat items like this just like the donal armor. Don't give them charges, instead make the casting time sufficiently long that the item won't be abused. I think that would go a long way towards balancing risk and reward.
Hummm, 35ac range caster item that any guild that can do Vindi can take out? sure the effect may suck, but WHAT THE HELL?!? look at 35ac, think about those nice squishy casters like wizards and/or chanter who sometimes take beatings during normal fights, now, go back about when guilds were actually doing this, before Vex Thal or the new planes, this was one of the best range items ever to obtain, and it still is for most casters 55+
It's a Range Item with 35 AC and 10 int/wis. Who gives a dang about the effect. This is a great item, as I said, dont bother even touching the effect...you have two charges..1 just in case you click on it by accident.

You responded in a rather excited state, so likely didn't process what I said. Please read it again, think about it. Or as you said "think closely now." I'm not sure how one "thinks closely," but I'm sure you understood what you meant.
In my opinion, the scroll is one sliver shy of "greatness." After putting it to thought, I gave my opinion what would give it that "Leap." Note: I thought about what I said. Did you even "think" before posting your flame and calling me an idiot?
EQplayers have grown used to sandboxes like EQvault and Whineplay forums and forget that forums were once a place where people shared ideas and opinions. Rather than insults.

Dont use the charges its expendable, youll have your little fun then your best range slot item in the game for tanks will disapear. Dont even use one you never know when you might accidently click it again this effect was put here for cruelty, I can not think of a time when i would want to use it.
I could never really forsee a real use of this items effect. This statue is uba =P Your already high enough where you dont solo, fast enough to get out of a tight bunch via speed augmenting items... Now if it was insta cast and you could lear around 50 newbs into the arena....
The effect is a point blank area of effect with an unlimited amount of targets. The effect is centered on the caster, so when you use the charge, be in the center of your 12 mobs, and let loose with 875 damage, that is usually not resisted (at least I've never had a resist on it).
Lvl 49 wizard spell... costs BOOKOO mana to cast, like 695 or something insane...
